As a 6'4" person, I admire your commitment to making this content, particularly with the head butt of the boob light. "Like"

The power lock-out demo was the bomb. It brought me back to "DAD'S" 1960s and '70s TV antenna adjustments.

Haha the breaker scene was great. Didn’t think to use my toddler to help me but I will now!

So I changed out an older light metal box to replace it with this led type light. Although it's fairly easy once you remove the light box, no one tells you that removing a metal box from an older house with no attic might be difficult, especially when it is held in by nails and not screws. This took me the most time, removing the metal box within a 6-inch space fastened by 14/16 penny nails (3 in the center and 1 on each end). Using a cat's paw, I could remove the 3 nails in the center of the box, but there were two more, one on each end, nailed into the rafters. In the end, a hacksaw was the only way to get the last two nails off without damaging my ceiling. I succeeded, but not without effort. Looks great, nevertheless. Thanks for the video.

We are making updates to the 90’s house we just bought and I had seen your vids a month ago. Thank you so much for sharing these lights! We had “boob” lights everywhere and they are all gone now! Super easy update and the lights themselves were a great deal for a 12 pack!

If you don't feel comfortable removing the box, there are retrofit 4" units that are available. That being said, a 6", like he installed generally has more light output.
One thing to note on changing from a domed (boob) ligfht to recessed slims is that your light angle has changed to a more downward light instead of an outward light from the dome. This may illuminate the floor and most of the wall height, but the top of the walls and the ceiling are only getting lit with reflected light from below.
Sometimes just replacing a dome light with a modern LED fixture will be significantly better and simpler as you'll get a similar light pattern but the fixture doesn't need to be so big to fit 2 incandescent bulbs in it (also LED and CFL bulbs are horrible in dome lights as the heat doesn't dissipate and ultimate ruins the bulbs quickly). New flush mount fixtures can be MUCH slimmer.
    Good video. Well explained.

Very late, but you need to do a daisy chain and ensure your breaker/fuse can handle the amperage and install a proper switch that can handle the wattage.

Nice video and exactly what we wanted to do with out lights. Do you happen to have a link to the 4" lights? You listed the 6" link for both the 4" and 6" lights. I did a search on AMZ for the 4" but they're not coming up by that manufacturer. Thanks!

There’s smart led lights on amz. That’s what I got. I even got 4” because usually they cut 4” holes for the box. So it was no cut quick install of 4”. :)

It says it can be used in a shower / wet room area but it doesn’t mention anything about outdoors. That said I personally have used them outside in covered areas and they have been perfectly fine.
