Great list, I was surprised you mentioned Shadow Gate. That is a great gem for the NES library. My top 5 personal favorites are : 1 -Mike Tyson's Punch Out 2 -Rygar 3 -Tecmo Superbowl 4 -Castlevania 5 -The Legend of Zelda
@@overwhelmed-gamer Sorry for sounding harsh in my post. I have to tell you that I actually stopped the video because of the audio. I am glad you can take my negative comment and converting it to improving on the issue. Maybe the root of the problem is your playback device, as it is extremely off. Try headphones and adjust the volume to making listening to your voice in the beginning comfortable. Then check the other sound how they are in relation.
@ for sure, no hard feelings, and definitely appreciate knowing what others are hearing. I’m just listening through my laptop and or phone. Headphones is a good idea. Thanks again!!
Sounds perfect to me on headphones. I'm convinced the chronic complainers about audio balance have hearing damage and don't realize it. If the audio sounds off, try subtitles!
Played all of these to death in the early 90s. Obviously there's a million videos on all of them but they really are all still amazing: 5. Final Fantasy 4. Star Tropics 3. Super Mario 3 2. Zelda 1. Dragon Warrior IV
@@overwhelmed-gamer The main criticism for DWIV (the NES version) is that in the final chapter, which is the majority of the game, you can't give your allies commands only choose "Tactics" for the party. Yeah it makes boss fights more constrained, but it also makes random combat much faster than DWIII as it only takes a couple of button presses. That makes it a worthwhile tradeoff imo. Also, the story is awesome and very well done. They really pushed that NES DW engine to its absolute limits.
Didn’t realize I was doing that. Probably because of the games age 🤷♂️. I just played it about a month ago. If you look at my lives you can definitely tell I was playing for the first time 😂 . Thanks for watching.
Hoo boy. I played so many. I also don’t know if I can list an order, but my five are: Tecmo Super Bowl Super Mario Bros 3 Legend of Zelda Dragon Warrior 3 Uncharted Waters Yeah. That last one really makes me a geek, but what can I say? I loved that game. When the local video game store closed down I bought their copy of it because I couldn’t find it anywhere else.
I had to look up Uncharted Waters. Game looks awesome. I can’t believe all the NES games out there that I know nothing about. Great list, and thanks for watching!
@@overwhelmed-gamer If you want to emulate it, the Genesis version is the best, actually. The sailing is sped up, otherwise it’s the exact same game. A lot of people love Uncharted Waters 2: A New Horizon more, but I just didn’t like it as much. Thanks for the video, and for replying to my comment!
Excellent list. Always expect SMB3, MM2, and/or Zelda on these lists. Final Fantasy is my #1, love Batman and Shadowgate. Punchout is a classic. I could never beat Batman. Wish I had kept my old CRTs.
I beat Batman. Yes, the soundtrack BOPS! 👌 I still play it. Zelda games gave m the best father son memories.. I miss those times. Here's some other serious bangers: Willow - Battle of Olympus - Contra - Little Nemo the Dream Master - Chip N' Dale - Monster in My Pocket - MOTHER (The first earthbound game) - Tomato Princess - TMNT II - TMNT III - Tiny Toon Adventures - Uninvited - Wacky Race (side scroller)
I’d go with 5. Tecmo-Bowl 4. Ninja Gaiden (not sure on the spelling) 3. Mega-Man 2. Castlevania 1. Super Mario Bros, I mean Super Mario Bros gotta always be #1 😏
Oh man honestly with more then 800 nintendo nes outthere even if you include only 5 games you would still leave out other great games good list regardless
Hey man whats up i love the nintendi nes famicom system something about the soundtrack of the 8 bit games from the nintendo nes makes it feel so cachy and good
Yikes. Difficult to nail down, really. Also depends on your gaming preferences. I'd have to say: 5: Tetris 4: Dragon Warrior 4 3: Crystalis 2: The Legend of Zelda 1: Super Mario 3
No doubt, there are some I forgot I played that could have been on this list 😂. Dragon Warrior 4 seems to be a common theme on peoples lists too. Need to get to that one. Thanks for watching!
@@overwhelmed-gamer Yeah, I get it, bc I think the Beatles are better than The Police, but I like The Police more, apparently, because I don't really listen to The Beatles, and I find myself listening to The Police a lot more.

1 -Mike Tyson's Punch Out

I loved those point and click games on the NES. Rygar can for sure make any list as well. Thanks for watching!
Mega Man 2, Castlevania 3:Dracula's Curse,Legend of Zelda,Super Mario Bros. 3,Metroid. My top 5 favorite NES games. Your list is great too!
Castlevania 3 is one I have yet to play. I want to get to that one soon. Thanks for watching!
1. Super Mario 3
2. Super Tecmo Bowl
3. The legend of Zelda
4. Double Dragon 2
5. Life Force
Can’t argue with that list. Double Dragon 2 is getting a lot of love from people. Might have to plug that in later today. Thanks for watching!
Audio balance is so off.. The sound effects (explosion) is ~4x louder than your voice, the music is ~2x louder.
Thanks for letting me know. My editing skills seem to still need some work :(. Thanks for watching anyway :)

Ah, I totally agree with Batman. Its a GEM! Great video.
Thanks Man! I loved it. Super fun game.
Nice list, and glad we both agree on Batman!
For me:
*5:* Mega Man 2
*4:* Star Wars
*3:* Double Dragon 2
*2:* Batman
*1:* Super Mario Brothers 3
