Tried it in my most recent two matches. My Babolat POP recorded at least a 5 mph increase. More importantly, the number of double faults has shrunk!

I must remember to shadow this idea against the fence before I practice my serve. This is a great cue and it really works.

A clever idea to force the elbow to follow the correct path.

@@oneminutetennis I had a low elbow and tried this drill against the fence for 5 minutes and then went to a normal serve and got instant results. So now I have a proper high elbow as the racquet begins the drop. Now I have a much deeper drop. 👍
Now, after have achieved a nice proper drop, and maintaining a relaxed arm, I am wondering what is the key to having the elbow lead the hand on the swing *upwards?* Will this leading elbow on the swing upwards tend to happen naturally? Or is there something to think about?

It worked! But I need to practice this a bit more to get it perfect. Can really feel the difference.

@@FloralSmith-u7k Yes, it is difficult to break the low-elbow habit. But when I do it correctly, I get a proper drop, and I experience a feeling on the serve I never had before.

When do I toss the ball? If I am saying: UP-Back-Drop & Serve. Do I toss the ball on the saying UP or BACK? I do struggle with when to toss the ball

Toss happens as you say UP. Co-ordinating the 2 motions will take time.

This doesn’t happen without a proper leg drive. Has to be timed correctly.
