Good effort mate. I had a 1fz 79 series I turbod. 5psi didn't feel much quicker but the torque up sand dunes etc was epic then went to 12 psi thing was a animal. Was hard to find a good tuner went through 3 tuners before finding someone who knew what they were doing. Shame about the intercooler in the other video. Front mount is by the sounds.
Cx racing kit 😬 anyway, I’d probably redo that oil drain that goes back into the sump as it’s far to low and can cause the drain to fill up and blow turbo seals, also I know you meant plug leads not coils
Also that exhaust bracket was the wrong way to begin with it’s the right way now but they put the bush ontop so you are compressing the bush not stretching it
You could do it for around $3.5k. It definitely does get it moving. I’ve driven both NA and turbo with only 5psi and it’s pulls up hills with ease even in 5th
Lol never primed the turbo, the core is clocked wrong, also the original spark plugs for the engine will be setup for NA you need to gap them correctly.
Turbo was primed off camera. Old spark plugs were installed by tuner and already recommend type and gap on plug (also done off camera). So the gap is set from NA to turbo. Thanks for mentioning the turbo clocking though, I’ll double check on that!
@@rigitup Awesome, I'm working on doing mine but at the point I need to decide what header to go with, you got cx racing correct? Think it would run fine without the intercooler at those psi? I know wits end used to run no intercooler and with dual battery there is no room for one lol Also do u plan on running the downpipe and exhaust on the inside of the frame?

And I have an 80 series and trying to get an idea of gains and price to see if it is worth putting a turbo on it.

Did you upgrade your injectors before utting the turbo? & Did you have to get a ECU for the turbo? @@rigitup

Currently 5psi but will probably bump it up to 10-12psi with new turbo.
