David Grissom is the only PRS player that makes me want to purchase one of the guitars . Now, I kinda want the amp too! Love the way David makes that model sound!

Honestly, as an adult, who plays what makes zero difference to me.
I will listen to honest opinions from those who play XYZ, but it does not really sell me.
Do I carry nostalgia from 1983 into a potential purchase today?
Probably but I still haven't bought a Black Explorer, despite how awesome Mathias Jabs looked and sounded.

David Grissom doesn't make me want a PRS DGT . . . The PRS DGT makes me want a PRS DGT!!

Only PRS I want is a DGT. They just have another thing to me.

More than just a talented musician, Dave is just a really nice, down to Earth guy. Always enjoy hearing him talk. Thanks, Keith.

David may not be using any effects loop but youtube is like it's own effects loop, flange, phase, filter.... the works. Still, great conversation (I hesitate to say interview).

Thanks Keith, another great video. It’s nice that you and DG are so cool with each other, it makes the videos so much more fun and interesting. Excellent facts and points of view with quality explanations. Good stuff.

    Hey Keith!
The band just SMOKED! And again, I’m having to watch this one as a replay. As always, though, I’m loving the show!

That was awesome. David is so straightforward. It was a true pleasure hearing him talk about the amp, his music and more.

Man, he has great natural rhythm. Just checked the prices for the head and cab here in the UK. Surprisingly affordable at less than £1400. I'd be interested in what Lyle thinks of the build.

Saw dg at the saxon several times with his sparring partner on second guitar-the fantastic carter arrington. And ive watched dave on countless vids but ive never heard him play anything but his dgt and i gotta sat i kinda dig his tone on the strat and the junior more…like keith said it punched out more. But the dgt’s sound great too. Killin amp!

Aye, I was looking hard for my new amp, incl. Tone King or Victory, but this thing just instantly rocketed to no. 1 on the list

Man, I missed this live. I would love to know how he got the sound on "Dallas" from Joe Ely live @ Liberty Lunch. Amazing tone. I miss living in Austin just a little. Lol

I asked him once about this- don’t quote me but I believe it was an early 70s bass spec 100w Marshall head, a fender reverb unit, and his gold mccarty. I think he was using an arion chorus pedal as well on this gig and some sort of boost pedal

Voice isn’t synced to picture and it hurts my old brain. Gonna just listen because the content is really interesting. I love the professional perspectives. They are way above my pay grade but I really appreciate the knowledgeable information.

Blimey ...... I saw Mr Grissom with Joe Ely at the Town and Country in London, it was a cracking night ..... and the first time I'd seen a PRS on stage, it really was that long ago !!

Very nice. I always tell people who ask advice on setting up a tone to focus on the amp first to get it clipping as dynamically responsive as you can. Then setup your pedals to serve the amp. When done right you will almost never need another channel. Awesome cleans and dirty right at your finger tips. I see Dave thinks the same way.👍

I just bought the DGT 15. It's the perfect amp. It's got enough volume to keep up with the drums on stage. It allows you to turn it up so that you get that great overdriven sound at any venue. And if you need more volume, you mic it. I'm actually getting a Tornado Captor X to attenuate this thing for smaller venues. It smokes.

After getting the SE 594, the DGT SE is definitely my next guitar. So good. Great meetup and info. dudes. :)

I was thinking about those two guitars. If I buy one, that would exclude another one. What difference would justify having both? An honest question, because I might go with both if there is a good reason besides trem.

    • @mrelmoresmusiclab
      @mrelmoresmusiclab 21 день назад +1

@@Lordofmrak I think it would be all about the neck and the pickups. The 594 has more of that vintage vibe and a big old neck on it. I need to roll into my local shop and check out the DGT to see what I think, but I really feel for the price having both would be great.
The push/pull on the pots really give you some great useable sounds too. I think that would make either guitar tonally unique to the other. I did a whole overview on my channel on the SE when I first got it. I also sanded the gloss off the neck. I think I give some good info. from a real world perspective. I need to do an update soon since I have put it through battle now.

I remember talking years ago with a pro player re getting the sound of a small amp but louder, not working. We ended it on the possibility of a hybrid, just taking the output of a small amp inc. speaker and putting through a solid state power amp + speakers.

I bought a tube amp built by a local shop a couple years ago. It was a dream amp and I thought I’d made a mistake because it was in the middle of the tube apocalypse and everyone on RUclips was making videos about the end of tube amps
Nice to see that tube amps are having a revival
15 watts is loud enough for a loud drummer in a medium size garage; gets really loud!

I run a Tweed Deluxe clone with an old EVM12L and at 12 ish watts it will outrun any drummer and run you out of a room. Still need an attenuator most of the time. Weber Mass in my case. If ya want loud and squeaky clean it’s not your animal.
