- It's Playtime! Remember Mr. Six? The creepy old guy from the Six Flags commercials? It's been over ten years since this first one and it's still one of the best theme park commercials ever made!
The old man actually kidnapped all that whole neighbor hood and forced them to work as park dance attractions.
Cool
I would.
That's actually an actor in an old man suit.
@@FoxyPercival714 dude omfg I didn't fucking know omg I thought that was a real old man omfg. Thanks for letting me know!
Sounds like the work of an SCP
Todays kids will never know the joy and excitement of seeing this commercial growing up on tv. Nostalgic af
Yea. The kids now a days have to grow up with 10min cartoons, 20min ads, and half of the ads being for cancer, homeless pets, or a repeat of a toy.
@@PolorX25 todays kids dont even watch regular tv, they watch kids play with toys on RUclips

@@XxxSuperCoolMinecraftCSGOBoy No, I think they are right. We still are kids because we never lost that side of us. Better to have that side than be an adult 24/7 for the rest of our lifes. We also have more fun.
Fun fact: The old mans character name is Mr. Six and was played by a 29 year old British dancer and choreographer named Danny Teeson.
Amazing to think Mr. Six once choreographed Tom Jones and Robbie Williams MV for Sex Bomb
I met Mr. Six at Chiller Theater Convention one time
No way
Makes sense why he had the moves
Wow I never knew that very interesting for that time
Crazy how a 2004 commercial looks so ancient, like it's from 1989.
Right?!
"so ancient, like it's from 1989"
Ah, yes. I believe the dinosaurs had only just become extinct in 1986.
recording TV didn’t really change for a good 30 years, since people were still using their VCRs.
for real LOL, super pixelated.
This was right before HDTV 720 became widespread.
Hands down, one of THE BEST ad campaigns ever designed and performed. Bravo. I still remember the first time I saw this on television almost twenty years ago and it still rocks.
They don’t make them like they used to. That’s for sure. This and Coca Cola Lime were really good for their times. The milk ads, Bubbalicious. It was dope.
….NEVER
Wakakak
Amazingly, this didn't save Six Flags, not at all. 3 years after this commercial aired, they filed for bankruptcy, closed a bunch of parks, and then drastically scaled back their spending and investments into parks, losing the prestige they once had
Yup! It’s awesome!
It's 2021.
RUclips: For no reason whatsoever, "let me hit you with this nostalgic banger."
They're using member berries on us
You mean this racist ad starring a white male instead of a POC?
@@xstatic-ow5mz I can't tell if your being sarcastic or not😂😐
Back when the leftist media wasn't making everything about race and trying to create a civil war in the USA like now. It was even better before 9/11. I regret taking the pre 9/11 years for granted!

The fact that SNL just referenced a commercial from almost 20 years ago last night is hilarious to me, lmao
It was funny!!!
Lizzo SNL was good👍👍
Yeah, and also one that wasn't even national. We don't have a Six Flags close to us and I'd never seen it. I had to come to RUclips to see the original.
It was way too funny
I’ve got to go see this snl skit. I can’t believe they did that.
2023 and this commercial STILL cracks me up!

Probably the best advertisement ever.
Pretty sure this advertising in the 2000s is why Six Flags is as successful as it is today.

Absolutely not

Six flags has started doing new commercials with this song, and I keep hoping they'll bring Mr. Six back.

I don’t. George Bush, the post-9/11 hysteria, terrible music and fashion, primitive internet, it wasn’t as good as you think.

I may not have remembered this was Mr. Six if SNL did not explain the sketch
Man I miss how commercials used to actually put effort into their advertisements to get the viewer interested rather than just following random trends these days. Not even the Super Bowl ads are fun anymore.
did you know that the dancing old man from the Six Flags commercials was not, in fact, an old man? He's not the wrinkly, bald little grandpa we all thought, and suddenly, my childhood was a web of lies. It was the best kind of lie, though, because the old guy from the Six Flags commercial is actually renowned choreographer and performer Danny Teeson, who is not only not an old man, but boasts an extensive resume of work beyond Six Flags that you've definitely seen elsewhere.
