    Like CP said if you don’t like it don’t buy it but let’s be happy an American manufacturer took over and is still making them in America.

    I purchased all the eagle grip pliers when doc from last best tool made a video about them, all of them except these three. These three were around 60.00 each at that time.. I couldn't justify buying them at that price. At 25 you'd be stupid not to buy them. I'm not a body guy but I'd rather have them and not need them, rather than eventually need them and not have them! Good looking out CP!

    Hello Fellow Toolhaulics and Friends: CP Thank you for this locking plier video. It's really a shame that anything good ends up going out of business. I'm happy that Snap On came in & took over the business so that it stays in the USA, but that didn't help those people that lost their jobs in your state Chad. Always a pleasure & my best to Henry. TMP from N.J.

    Given what happened to SK recently Snap-On seems downright heroic in this situation. I don't use locking pliers enough to spend that kind of money, but if they can turn a profit selling them for 80 dollars more power to them.

  • @craigchiddo2794
    @craigchiddo2794 7 месяцев назад +3

    If snappy would sell them with no warranty for $45 it would be worth it I don't know why their markup is so high on something that doesn't fail often

    KTC is supposed to be a quality Japanese tool manufacturer . Bought 2 pair of locking pliers from Amazon shipped through Amazon Japan , they were made in Taiwan . My last KTC tool purchase ! Ordered Knipex Made in Germany . ViseGrips , Made in China . Have bought GripOn , Made in Spain .

      Thanks for sharing. I'm not a fan of ktc for that exact reason. It's hard to know what's Japan or Taiwan

    • @AToolWithTools
      @AToolWithTools 6 месяцев назад

      I IDed them as outsourcing when I saw another brand offering the exact same X-Jaws. At this point the only locking pliers I have confirmed ARE made in Japan are the Three Peaks brand, and they aren't typical pliers as they're made for fastener removal.
      KTC, Lobster, Engineer, Top, all not made in Japan.

  • @TylerSnyder305

    Am I wrong in assuming snapons cost to market for these should be a bit cheaper since they've cut out the middle man ?
    I'm glad they bought the eagle grip tooling, but I just don't like that they aren't likely to pass any savings on to the customer.
    If they lower their pricetag by even $5 I'll eat my words, but I don't see it.
    I understand the necessity for a markup on rebrands, but I do think their markup was a bit steep and will be even more so in the near future.

    Thanks CP! The Eagle Grips are a major cut above anything else. I have 3-4 pairs both in 7" and 10". If anything were to happen to them, like get lost or stolen, I would have to get the Snap-on branded ones. Might take some saving up for, but tbh, once you get the eagles in hand and use them, it's hard to return to the other locking pliers out there.

      That's not a bad deal, I believe payed $45 from HJE when they 1st hit the market.
      Now I'm thinking I may want to get the 8" welding clamp and those wide flat jaws if I can find them.
      I don't weld but those things are great clamps.
