Stanley Black & Decker is, I believe, the largest tool company in the world. They own numerous famous tool brands all over the world. They have many similar or identical products across their various world brands, but those other brands are not marketed or officially sold in the US. USAG is an Italian brand, and Facom is French. They both have identical versions of the MAC Precision Torque wrenches. I bought a set about a year ago from Mister Worker, the Facom 440XL.
So yes you CAN buy their foreign branded tools that are identical to the MAC versions and have them shipped here, but there are no US distributors I know of for those brands. So you have to wait a week or two for them to be shipped from overseas, and then you don’t have the lifetime warranty plus quick and easy replacement that you would get from a MAC distributor.
If you’re a mechanic and you’re working on something and need a tool, you don’t have time to wait a week or more for something to come from overseas. So in reality, the different brands serve different markets, and few people who do business with a MAC dealer are going to start getting a lot of their tools from the overseas Stanley brands for those reasons.

Those are the kind of videos why i love this channel!
No Influencer bullshit, just honest reviews that weigh the pros and cons, from a person who actually uses his tools for work.
Regarding the wrenches, as far as I know, the original design came from facom and then spread across the other SBD brands in recent years.
That the Facom/USAG ones are half the price of their Mac counterpart just shows how shameless these companies are screwing you guys up.
This might be worth an video of his own, discussing how tool brands in the US overcharging their customers in comparison to the european market.

USAG is pretty good stuff. Given that there is no US subsidiary/importer to do any warranty work, these would be good as a back-up set to have around when/if any wrench from your main set of wrenches, e.g. tool truck brand, gets lost or has to be warrantied.

I don’t think warranty is an issue with these. I doubt they’ll get used enough (as you said) and should last a long time. I don’t really “need” them, but I was considering getting the Capri extractor wrenches for those times I do need them. I may get these instead, but I’m not in a super hurry for it either. I have had some rounded bolts, but have been able to get them off with the Rocket Sockets.
Your little rant about SB&D is spot on. I felt the same way with the Craftsman V Series, Craftsman RBRT stuff (can’t remember the name right now), and now these. It’s like they’re trying to ruin their dealers. You’d think they’d keep it proprietary to Mac (at least in the US) and drop the price a bit. I don’t even think this lasted 6 months.

Former northeast asphalt open wheel modified racer here. We ran Muncie 3 or 4 speeds. The Richmond 2 speed is now approved. Automatic transmissions are verboten! Your truck must have come from an IMCA racer. I wasn't aware that USAG was owned by SB&D. My most used wrenches were my MAC combinations. I'll have to look into the USAG wrenches. Thanks for the tip CP!

Big Brother, I had the SKs back in 2000, the open ends did in fact suck but the boxed ends had more clearance than anything on the market at the time. These days I’ve got Wrightgrip 2.0, Williams Supercombination in 12 point and Proto ASD in 6 point along with original Flank Drive, Milwaukee Maxbite in both straight and ratcheting, the Craftsman V Series (Almost like a precision torque) some Husky spline combinations and a set of featureless Tektons (the plain forged wrench). All of these are light years ahead of the SKs but somehow we still got the job done back then.
That being said, are all the featured wrenches designed to help guys in the rust belt or industrial guys who come across a lot of rusty corroded fasteners? Seems like the market is just flooded with these designs all getting the same job done. Hell I went a year using nothing but a set of Apex made Husky chrome combinations. They worked and the only one I had to replace was one that got “Borrowed”.

I still consider them one of gm's best 3spd automatic transmissions, throw a rebuild kit at it and it will serve for another 35 years can the namesake say that for the famed new 4L60E 4spd automatic overdrive automatic transmission, and I say that owning a newer truck known for its transmission being like glass shifting fine, but it needed a input shaft seal and a front pump and the torque converter replaced at 176k miles that's ridiculous for a 2000 dodge ram laramie slt quad cab long bed 318 magnum 5.2 litre v8 46 RE AT manual shift transfer case lever on the floor yes I like my newer truck, but that being said my 86 chevy k20 custom deluxe long bed well used and beat to hell farm truck was well over 210k miles before its th400 3spd automatic transmission with the hd stamping in the top center of the hell housing just below the top left Bell housing transmission bolt, and that says something for the older vehicles they were built better motor didn't count because I built a 1975 350 0.30 over with a balanced bottom rotating assembly hypereutectic trw .20 dome pistons file fit mahle piston rings and the factory forged crank and the competition cams xe 268h 477/480 lift cam kit and the summit racing equipment brand gear drive timing gear set the one machine for more noise it was given to me brand new which made my truck sound like it had a supercharger not something id buy myself...

Although it can ship here from Europe, I don't think the warranty is going to be any good. And if so, you'll be paying a ton of money to ship a wrench. I don't think Black and Decker is screwing over Mac dealers. I think this is just a lower price to compete in other markets.

Black and Decker is bending over their MAC truck franchisees with this method. You'll notice they're shipping from Italy to skirt violating franchisee agreements. Imagine sinking your life savings into opening a MacDonald's restaurant and then they allow Amazon to deliver 'Big Smak's" and "4/16th pounders" right to your customer's doorstep from their fulfillment center. You would be so unbelievably angry that they have the nerve to take your money from you. This is a raw deal and it appears they are just getting started.

Results of the wrench slipping or not slipping place it on the ranking. Our favorites don't help any of them much, but I'd personally never buy a 6-point combo wrench as a main set. That would be highly annoying, the precision torque is a better all around wrench. Personal favorite would be the Williams non slip but performance overall as a main wrench I'd hand it to Wrightgrip 2.0. Just don't happen rank them based on those kinds of personal preferences.

Hello CP AND HENRY: CP. thank you for a very well presented video on your new acquisition the, USAG WRENCH SET. Your description is on point, & it's what all of us professional wrench turners agree ( the correct tool for the job). Just like you have stated many times that we still have tools from our humble beginnings but as time goes on & the technology
improves we must adapt or get run over. Yes I still use wrenches that are over 62 years old but it's what the job calls for. When we were all starting out & fumbling our way through things yes we had to upgrade cause the older stuff just doesn't cut it. I'm happy you are getting your turbo 400 Trans rebuilt & that you have a professional ready to assist you. Here in N.J. it's tough & expensive to get anything done. The other day I stopped at DQ & a plain vanilla ice cream cone was $$ 11.00 + tax $$ Another great video my brother, God Bless & my best to Henry. TMP from N.J.

No reason why patents (big government enforced monopolies) should exist in the first place. Companies exist to innovate and compete for customers' business in an open market. Customers don't exist to keep the profits of huge companies artificially high and the supply of quality goods artificially scarce. There's even less reason why foreign companies ought to obey the arbitrary regulations another country imposes on their domestic companies. You either believe in serving the customer or serving rent seeking corporate cartels and the expense of customers and willing competitors.

Hey CP, What brand are those wrench organizers shown in this video specifically the green ones with numbers of wrench sizes on top? Been looking for some wrench organizers and those look pretty nice. Appreciate your channel.
