This video explains all the currently available fighters in Rivals of Aether II in one sentence. It's supposed to be a quick crash course in each fighter's playstyle and their unique gimmicks. (Okay, some fighters are explained in 2-3 sentences, but these gimmicks need a bit more explanation to get the point across.)

Well, there aren’t really any 1-to-1 equivalent characters between RoA2 and SSBU, so it’s kind of tough to say. I don’t have much experience with actual RoA2 matches yet outside of the single-player arcade mode, so just keep that in mind.
I guess Maypul could be good for you? Her plants aren’t quite the same as Villager’s tree, but they could provide a similar feeling. She’s also aggro rushdown, so you could try playing her a bit like your Brawler. Clairen is the only swordie in the game so far, so I don’t think she would feel much like Toon Link.
I’ve heard that Clairen and Zetterburn are good beginner characters though, mainly from Izaw’s new Art of Rivals channel
