The S24 Ultra is a pen phone, period. Overpriced, poorly finished and a really mediocre camera. The Vivo X100 Pro is a fabulous phone with a fabulous camera! Except that in the showroom, the demo piece has a display that's way too dim! Exactly the same as my Pixel 6 Pro! I was all set to buy it when I noticed this! Is it a faulty demo piece? Or is the display dim? It claims "3000 nits peak"... ?? ☹️ Thanks in advance for any replies 😊

@@kursalon91 what sort of super high tech display are you even using? Besides the bezels I can't find much to complain about it. 1260p is sharp enough from 1080p that you won't notice the difference between it and 1440p. The brightness is 1400 nits+ which is outstanding.

Majority of the cameraphone reviewers seems to be very average photographers. I personally want to see what thease flagships are capable to do with their cameras, not just the typical photos. Creative macro shots, fast moving objects, burst photos, comparison to a DSLR. Also if you compare phones, compare beautiful photos in the first place. Not some grey boring brickwalls etc. something exiting to look at. For example you didnt take any telephoto macro shots with X100? What I have seen, those photos are DSLR like quality with it.
You are doing an excellent job, thorough and well detailed. I would like to add the One Plus 12 to the comparison.
You sounds bias for oppo. You did not take into account the macro capabilities of both phone, vivo would have won. Another important feature is the low light video, vivo low light video looks far better than oppo.
Video at night was cleaner on Oppo. Maybe too heavy noise reduction. The Vivo was more contrasty and did not look that fine imho.
Macro capabilities I also tested and did not see much of a difference to be even mentioned in the video

@@lltechview The strength of x100 pro is the main sensor camera at 24mm, the low light video camera and its stabilization, the 4.3x and 10x zoom as you already know, and also please try to compare the hasselblad master mode in x7 ultra vs portrait mode with vintage filter in x100 pro. The vintage filter is something special from vivo.
Vivo can also do low light shots without trigerring the night mode, in low light location go to regular photo mode and turn off the moon symbol on the left corner. I am sure this will beat the low light quality of oppo.

finally. Ive been waiting for this comparison. I just think youve missed a comparison in human subject night shots using rear cam and how they perform in night portraits (rear cam) because when I compare my Oppo find x6 pro vs to my vivo x100 pro, oppo gives a clean shot but a little bit darker while vivo boost the brightness but somehow it mess up faces with aggressive processing.
btw its awesome job, Cant wait for you to compare the X7 Ultra to its predessor the X6 Pro.

In 2023, the Oppo Find X6 Pro was the best camera phone, I had tested.
In 2024, I'm not impressed by his replacement X7 Ultra, and I didn't consider to buy it so far.
But I've been mind blowed by The Vivo X100 Pro. I bought the chinese version, one month ago and I've just moved to the global version, a week ago 🥇
In my opinion, this Vivo X100 Pro is the best choice for camera, and available in global version (I still keep my Oppo X6 Pro, but some Google services can not work properly with the chinese version)

Honestly Vivo holds up still well and we're not even talking about the same level phones where X7 Ultra should be already competing with x100pro+. Of course it's not released yet. But looks like x100 is barely loses.
What gets my attention the naturalistic approach Oppo uses vs computational power applied on Vivo.
I honestly use the high quality mode when I want to get the most out of the camera. So, shoot in 50 mp and make my own editing. However, there are also plenty of cases where I just want to shoot a photo to keep it as memory so the regular photo mode is really handy. Looks like Vivo does the computation, sharpening, lighting up the dark areas by itself. Honestly that'd be my preference as well. Because if I shoot in hq mode I'll get a natural photo anyways. I hope Oppo will add more features different computational approaches at least.
Oppo definitely beats with video but not a day and night difference. However, again vivo has night video mode which might be handy.
I'd say Oppo winning but they're very close. If Vivo gets close evem before releasing x100pro plus. Ih boy, I'm really excited what they'll put on the table.

Amazing how the dedicated graphics chip in the Vivo can compensate for the optics. I expected the oppo to beat the Vivo easily but it was a close race.
Vivo oversharpens too much, in most cases this doesn't look good

Actually you can think that Vivo's photography is readily uploaded to social media as it adjusts things for user. Oppo's is more to giving more room for user to adjust on their own.

@@HayashiShirou I have the Vivo and I can tell you that the picture compartment is super versatile. You can shoot pictures in 12mp or 50mp high definition in vivid or Zeiss (natural) mode, you can immediately adjust the pictures after you take them in light, exposure, vivid/cold colours, sharpening, shadows and so on. You also have a very comprehensive pro mode and you also have a raw and a superraw option which gives you an image clean as it comes to the lense and which can be worked on after with other apps like Lightroom
Im still amazed with vivo's HDR algorithm, especially in night-time photos, the way it retains the color of the lamp, and even u still can see every details of the LEDs (like the pricetag in the gas station), which is insane🔥,
maybe they need to fix front cam quality in the next series.
Yeah HDR is top notch. Ocassionally its overdoing it though and it looks too artificial. I am sure Vivo will fix those issues though. They are pretty good in providing amazing updates
I got the OPPO Find X7 ULTRA 4 days ago The phone is great. All apps work great. The camera is phenomenal. I recommend the purchase.

I remember you calling the x100 over hyped in one of your replies to someone which is why I dont trust your comparison videos, tech reviewers should not be biased it comes across in their videos...
good comparison apart from your clear biasness against the vivo . you kept using his word processing (like it's a bad thing) for EVERY picture where the vivo did better and oppos blurry shots you called natural, like huh??? And if oppo had a sharper shot you never mentioned processing once it was just SHARPER and the the vivo was just blurry not natural..
gas station segment is a clear example of your overwhelming biasness,(you even went into raw mode on the oppo to try even the score it stil lost but you made excuses still for the oppo) vivo was CLEARLY better throughout the gas station comparison,where the gas station board of prices were very blurry on the oppo BUT was readable and clearly MUCH better on the vivo..BUT in your twist vivo made the text 'thinner'... like huh?? ,again you tried to turn a clear vivo win into a negative to such a level where you now don't make any sense,I'm sure there ISN'T one person who would pick oppos blurry gas prices shot over vivos..
Again to me this all comes down to when I read you calling the vivo x100 over hyped..you've stuck with that negativity to such a point some comments you make are absurd like in that gas station segment

I did not get into any RAW mode. I called the Vivo overhyped when first tried it as the telezoom had some issues and don't let me start talking about the ultrawide. However Vivo amazingly fixed those issues.

And no 20x zoom is sharper on the Oppo not the Vivo.
While I’m maybe less strong in my words I tend to agree with the feeling that this time around it was nitpicking on the vivo. Both these phones do a tremendous job but overall the vivo is more consistent. For instance a shaken photo on tele can’t be judged on sharpness and only if the camera repeatedly makes shaken photos you can judge it on that.
Also the crane photo, 120x times on the Oppo from colors and brightness was just terrible were vivo 100x was much less worse. It only lacked slightly in sharpness compared to the Oppo. Overall though the vivo was way more usable.
The inconsistent colors between the lenses on the Oppo were barely mentioned. Again both camera phones doing a great job, I don’t own neither of them but I definitely would buy the vivo over this Oppo as it has some outstanding useful camera features built in the app too.
@@hape4 I agree, constantly spoke about sharpening processing every picture where vivo was better,then abelled oppos blurry pictures as natural,but on the occasion where the oppo picture was sharper there was no talk of processing it was just a better sharper picture and vivo wasn't called natural but just blurry...it makes no sense...a tech reviewer needs to be neutral..but I knew he didn't like the vivo when he called it overrated in a comment to a viewer
Amazing job, really appreciated this comparison. I especially agree on the portait mode total win for Oppo and the front facing camera pictures also way better on Oppo. I have a few points though where I slighlty disagree. Main sensor pictures look still a tiny little better on Vivo to me, probably not for the quality of the sensor but for the sharpness due to its great post-processing, I can see a bit more details on the Vivo and they don't look too over-sharpened. Also the night video quality and especially the night pictures quality with or without zoom look better on Vivo with colors, more detail and better light management. Last but not least, I don't see a clear winner in terms of zoom, they both win or lose in different situations and that 4.3 telephoto on Vivo is still amazing, and also the comparison on the x120 vs x100 zoom is super close cause the advantage in sharpness of the Oppo is minimum but the colour is still a bit better on Vivo. All of this is just my personal opinion and you are giving great insights to your viewers so please keep up with your great job!

I'm still very much on the fence for getting the X100 Pro, mainly because of the software side, love the camera and HW they got going on. Don't care about the selfie camera, or Android Auto, but reading on Reddit the issues people have had with the OriginOS paired to the fact you can't flash a custom ROM on it, makes me a bit uneasy for the longevity of the device.
Anyway, awesome work with these comparisons, you've easily earned my subscription!
What issues did people have with OriginOS? I personally think it is superior to FunTouchOS we have on the global version
@@lltechview From what i've read, if you uninstall some of the default Chinese programs the phone can start eating through the battery like crazy, as it's trying to constantly access the removed SW, or just reinstall them back without any user input/knowledge. Also there has been people that lost all network connectivity in an OS update, and apparently a lot of people on OriginOS has had problems with getting notifications on "western" apps.
Also the missing B20 frequency support is kind of a big deal here in Northern Europe outside the cities, but i'm not too worried about that, as i can work around it.
I do also think the OriginOS is superior to FunTouchOS, but it would put my mind to ease if it's wasn't locked from rooting and custom ROM's, so when the manufacturer decides to drop the SW support, i wouldn't be stuck with an old, unsafe phone. That said, at this point i'm 90% sure i'll get the X100 Pro after the Chinese New Year holidays have ended, unless i can hold out for the + model rumored to come 1H this year. 😁Just love the camera quality you get for about 800€, if i was considering the global version for 1200€, i'd probably just go with Samsung S24 Ultra, but that's way more than i'm willing to spend on a phone.😅
A lot of the info are based n x90 series or earlier. I was pleasantly surprised by the low amount of bloatware in my x100 pro, very reasonable common Chinese apps, that uninstalled as usual. I followed the tutorial by tradingshengzhen to set up the phone. My phone has phenomenal battery life.
The notification issue is due to *default* settings to conserve battery for any app, the tutorial will show u how to set it right. It's not a "western" app issue.
I came across an article that said that the Chinese govt is stepping in to address the rampant obscene amount of bloatware in China phones, and the uninstallation issue, starting 2023.

Next week I will receive the vivo x100 pro global version, purchased from wonda mobile. Until now I have been with the Huawei P60 Pro, I like Android Auto, I needed the band B20 which the Chinese version of the wine does not have, I see that the Oppo does...you pay with your cell phone...The Chinese versions do not have things that one sometimes needs

As for the geometric designs, vivo does a very good job in post processing. But when there are people, animals and any living material in the shot, the algorithm's ability to produce realistic images is stripped away.
Of course, this is not only his problem, but of all smartphones that use A.I.
Would be interesting to revisit these to phones in the end of the year, maby epecially the Oppo has improved its post processing at that point.

Good comparison. You have gone through the nitty gritty of each photos and also provided an overview of the camera capabilities. I am satisfied. However, this review is not the most comprehensive. You missed on the complete overview of features that each phone would provide. Some would consider this to be the dealbreaker when trying to decide which to get. You missed on macro photography, which i get that many dont really use, but it would provide again a more complete comparison between both phones. Some phones may focus on trying to provide the best camera experience (iPhones), some provides the most features to play with, some might just focus on camera quality (Nubia Z60 Ultra). Probably since you would want to make it entertaining and not too boring for us camera noobs.

No, it is not. I mean in terms of photo. But it is close. It all depends of what you're expecting from camera. If optical bokeh and most natural skin tones possible (for a smartphone), then choose Oppo. If these are not so important, then go for 1+.

Still the X7 Ultra. X6 Pro is also good but the X7 Ultra has the better colours. Though wait maybr for my comparison between the two as the X6 Pro got an update yesterday. I am waiting still for the newest X7 Ultra update and do the comparison

Thank you for your detailed review/comparison. Are you planning a review/comparison of the Honor Magic 6 Pro? This is the phone I'm interested in. Vivo X100 Pro and Honor Magic 6 Pro will be released in Europe, but Oppo Find X 7 Ultra won't, right? Another consideration: The Vivo X 100 Pro is great but I'm not a fan of that 4.3x zoom camera. I prefer the 2.5x lens on the Magic 6 Pro. It has a very large sensor and, in my opinion, it is much better for portraits. It is not true?
From what I saw the Honor needs a lot of work still

Habe mir mindestens 30 Video von dir angeguckt, für mich bist du an Platz 2 der besten RUclipsr in puncto Smartphone camera reviews, nur Damir Franc war besser, er macht leider keine Video darüber😢, aber du könntest sicher was von ihm lernen, ich glaube bei dir fällt ein bisschen die Persönlichkeit des entertainment, Was mir jedes mal gestört hat ist dass es nicht angegeben ist mit welchen Sensor das Foto gemacht wurde, eine kleine Angabe unten wäre auf jeden Fall hilfreich(0.6 x1. X3 x..).
Ich finde es amüsant dass die besten zwei aus Deutschland kommen.
Immer weiter so, eine echte Bereicherung.
Ein Video über das vivo iqoo 12 wäre sehr interessant da es ziemlich preiswert (550€) ist für die Hardware und dazu hat es auch ein flacher Bildschirm.
Ein Jahresrückblick würde sicher auch viele Klicks generieren, sowas wie, best camera Smartphone 2023, weil viele wissen das beste Smartphone ist ein High-End Smartphone vom letzten Jahr wenn man nicht gerade reich ist.

For now probably Vivo. Its software offers more features. But you also cannot go wrong with Oppo

cant imagine that the x100 pro plus will be any better than this. would be pretty insane if there's any improvement in camera performance.
I've owned both Oppo Find X5 Pro and X6 Pro. And one thing I've noticed that isn't improving is issues with video focus pumping. Night video recordings are embarrassingly poor with or without HDR nightmode enabled. Looks like the X7 Ultra has the same issue. Why no fix?
Díky za skvělé srovnání x100pro, které jsem si vlastně chtěl koupit, ale v naší recenzi dostal velký rub kvůli příliš lesklému displeji, špatným reproduktorům, systému a nakonec špatnému zvuku při nahrávání videa. Díky tomu se více přikláním k x7ultra jako nejuniverzálnějšímu telefonu (doufejme, že brzy přijde aktualizace s opravou).

Hallo Leszek, lohnt sich das "Upgrade" vom X100 Pro auf das X7 Ultra? Ich habe mir im Januar das Vivo bei Tradingshenzhen besorgt und bin bisher sehr zufrieden. Die Kamera-Performance ist super. Was abfällt, ist die Selfie-Kamera. Das hat auch Dein Test gezeigt. Aber dafür noch 1x 200 Euro mehr zahlen? Ich bin noch am Überlegen. (Noch ist ja Chinese New year)...
Nein. Das lohnt sich aus meiner Sicht nicht. Wenn du nicht so ein verrückter Smartphonesammler bist wie ich, dann bleib beim X100 Pro

With the X60 line Vivo "solved the problem" of exposing lights at night.

@@Vks1992 I did a Zeiss vs Zeiss video if you did not see it. Compared the Xperia 1 V and Vivo X100 Pro Zeiss natural mode. So I know what you mean. Still the contrast on the Zeiss mode is a bit too strong imho. Nevertheless yeah Zeiss Natural mode is pretty good. I plan to do a comparison between this one and the "Master" mode on Oppo which apparently is the Hasselblad tuning

Interessant, in anderen Videos wirkte das Oppo bei Hauttönen immer rotstichig, hier wirkt es jetzt aber deutlich natürlicher als das Vivo. Wo findet man denn deine Ranking Liste?

The x100 pro is oversharpened, x7 ultra is much better. I don't understand why you didn't compare the 10x-4.3x ranges.(6x-7x-8x-9x)

Both cams take in some wind noise. That's what you get without the phone jack and the external mike can come in only through the fragile USB-C connector. Very nice comparison.
Nah thats not the issue. I simply forgot the wind muff/deadcat for the wireless mic
