I shot a few macro pictures with the Ultra and I can say that is much sharper than the Pro. The Pro was already very good, but the Ultra is clearly an improvement. Now in terms of focus and sharpness, you should play with Manual focus, and hold the hand as still as possible.
No, I didn't see any issues. The only small issues are some white balance inconsistencies and differences in color science compared to the X100 Pro. I guess all of them should be rectified and improved with the next software updates. @@michalpopielas7020

Salutare, eu l-am luat de pe Wonda Mobile, dar se mai poate achizitiona si de pe Giztop, Geek WIlls, sau Trading Schenzen. Wonda sunt f ok si rapizi. Legat de sticla nu stiu ce sa spun, telefonul vine cu folie de protectie aplicata pe ecran si o husa f calitativa. Vivo nu face rabat la calitate, si ofera atat folia de protectie a ecranului aplicata deja, incarcator, cablu, si husa de calitate. La fel a fost si cu Vivo X100 Pro. Nu am intampinat probleme cu zgarierea foliei sau a ecranului, dar nici nu am scapat pe jos telefoanele.
Probably the X200 Pro will be announced in December and released in January 2025. Regarding the Ultra, I really don't know, it depends on how Vivo wants to launch it, together with the Pro or later like they did with the X100 Ultra.
You have Sharpness, Brightness, Saturation and Contrast sliders in the regular photo mode, exactly like in Oppo Find X7 Ultra Hasselblad Master Mode. The Pro mode on the Vivo X100 Pro and on the X100 Ultra is in my opinion the best Pro mode on any smartphones. In fact the Vivo Camera app is the best, very versatile, well done, well optimized and with tons of features. I tested low light photo and video in the video.

On Vivo X100 Ultra you have a Keep settings feature and also you can customize each important mode to a custom default setup which you like. I will hopefully test Vivo X100 Ultra vs Oppo Find X7 Ultra next week for daylight and nighttime pictures and videos, so we can see which is the true photo and video king of 2024!

i feel like the pro got a little bit downgraded with recent software updates 😅 to make the difference between it and the ultra more noticeable. bc for some reason the pro was able to shoot better photos few weeks ago
Hi, thank you for the comment. I beg to differ, the Pro is better than it was some weeks ago, it received new updates that make the pictures even better. I don't think Vivo is Apple to downgrade their smartphones. On contrary, even their older flagships receive updates for camera improvements.

The case of Vivo X100 Pro doesn't work on the Vivo X100 Ultra, because the Ultra is slightly wider and has a bigger camera module on the back than the Pro.

Yes, the Pro is an outstanding phone, but the Ultra has that extra for enthusiasts, better video, better portrait telephoto etc. Vivo has released great smartphones this year: Vivo X100 Pro, Vivo X100 Ultra and Vivo X Fold 3 Pro.
Thank you for the review. Could be interesting to try it out with some Beastgrib lenses to see if it would improve the video performance. Could you make some video example of the field of Dept performance with the telescopic lens, it starts a what 85mm, I'm not sure and the main lens 24mm up to ?. I like the 58mm 60mm focal length for video, gives a little distance to the subject, gives a nice looks with blurring out the background naturally. I have been using conversion lenses from moment, but due to the sensors and optics increasing in size, no bueno no more. Beastgrib works fine, but absolutely a behemoth of a setup with the universal pro grib.
If you use the new features that the Ultra brings, yes is worth. Otherwise, the Pro is still one of the best camera phones of 2024, together with the Ultra, Oppo Find X7 Ultra and Xiaomi 14 Ultra. But with time, new updates should make the Ultra even better. For now it has some white balance issues, but I am sure Vivo will fix them with new firmware. There is still some tweaking to be done, but the Ultra is already a beast.
The 100 pro look a little bit warmer throughout the video. But the last comparison video, the ultra look A LOT more warm than the pro. Who can explain what happened?

Hello, yes the Ultra has the multiple users feature like the Pro. And yes if you play 2 videos in split screen, one of the videos pauses when you push play on the other one. They don't work simulaneously, only one.

The Vivo X200 Pro will probably be available next year from January, and most probably they will still be China only smartphones. Is your decision if you want to wait for 6 months more, but if you wait for the Vivo X200 Pro in January 2025 then you can also wait for the Vivo X200 Ultra in May 2025.
The color science is different and still needs tweaking. Saturation is not a problem because it can be edited, or you can use the new features which allow you to drop saturation, sharpness, etc in the Camera app before taking the picture. The Camera app is extremely versatile.
Sony cameras or Sony smartphones? As far as I see it the Xperia has a lot of issues. Also the main and the ultra wide sensors on the Vivo X100 Ultra are from Sony, the LYT-900 and the LYT-600. In terms of processing, Vivo is extremely versatile, it allows you to have both processed and natural images. All you need to do is to learn the Camera app well and practice with all modes.

I noticed it in the Pixel 7 vs 7a where it's Samsung Isocell vs Sony IMX and the Sony is has deeper colours which is why it looks more vivid when I first saw a comparison between the two phones with similar processing but different sensors. Sony sensors are actually much better in terms of colours and speed. As for Xperias it's pretty much jacks of all trades, master of none. Really needs to put a lot of work into that.

Definitely, switching to Vivo X100 Pro from the S23 Ultra will be a big change. Vivo X100 Pro is undoubtedly the best cameraphone of 2024 together with it's newer brother the Ultra and the Oppo Find X7 Ultra. Just one thing though, keep in mind that the S23 Ultra has a wider display so if you like that form factor, maybe Vivo X100 Pro display will feel narrow and taller for you. But strictly in terms of photography and videography, Vivo X100 Pro is definitely a huge upgrade over the S23 Ultra. And also, Vivo X100 Pro still receives updates and Vivo improves it's camera system algorithms every week, while Samsung clearly has forgotten about the S23 Ultra.

If you like a wider and slightly bigger screen with Dolby Vision support, then go for the Oppo Find X7 Ultra. The Find X7 Ultra has better haptics, a little better display in terms of features, aqua touch support for the screen, and I would say that by default it delivers slightly better portrait shots with more natural rendition than the Vivo X100 Pro. I repeat, the difference is small between the two, and surprisingly I managed to get more detail in portraits shot with the Vivo by using the Pro mode instead of the Portrait mode. So for best portraits Oppo, but for day/night photography in general Vivo. X100 Pro is the king of HDR, it has no rival on the market currently, street photography on the Vivo is outstanding. Also in terms of overall photo and video features Vivo is more versatile while Oppo delivers a limited but good set of options. So if you really like to tweak parameters, shoot on manual and use all the photo and video modes then go for the Vivo, but if you want smth more simpler then go for the Oppo. Both are great smartphones. Also, take into account which Android Skin you like more, ColorOS on Oppo or Funtouch/OriginOS for Vivo. If you go for Vivo, my recommendation is to get the China version with OriginOS which is clearly better and richly featured packed than the Fountouch one.
They surely aren't on the same level. The Ultra has a more powerful telephoto lens and sensor, shoots 4K on Dolby Vision at up to 120 fps, it supports high bitrate 70 to 120 Mbps for video recording, has manual settings in the default photo mode for tweaking brightness, contrast, vibrance and sharpness which allows the user the ability to bypass auto-sharpening or oversaturated pictures, a new Black & White color mode which is fantastic, the Humanistic Street photo mode with lots of features, better selfie camera on pair with the one on S24 Ultra, better battery, a little wider screen and 0 edge accidental touches which exist on the Pro version, better gimbal stabilization etc etc. And with the next firmware updates, the Ultra will only improve, the hardware is there, all is needs is tweaking to reach its full potential and surely Vivo will achieve tike they did with the X100 Pro.

X100 pro seems better to me. Saturation is too high in ultra... Even saturation in x100 pro is high compared to Samsung s24.

Hi I would like your opinion if it's worth to switch from s23 ultra to vivo x100 pro? Im not satisfied with samsung's saturated pictures. Thanks in advance.
Definitely, switching to Vivo X100 Pro from the S23 Ultra will be a big change. Vivo X100 Pro is undoubtedly the best cameraphone of 2024 together with it's newer brother the Ultra and the Oppo Find X7 Ultra. Just one thing though, keep in mind that the S23 Ultra has a wider display so if you like that form factor, maybe Vivo X100 Pro display will feel narrow and taller for you. But strictly in terms of photography and videography, Vivo X100 Pro is definitely a huge upgrade over the S23 Ultra. And also, Vivo X100 Pro still receives updates and Vivo improves it's camera system algorithms every week, while Samsung clearly has forgotten about the S23 Ultra.

If you like a wider and slightly bigger screen with Dolby Vision support, then go for the Oppo Find X7 Ultra. The Find X7 Ultra has better haptics, a little better display in terms of features, aqua touch support for the screen, and I would say that by default it delivers slightly better portrait shots with more natural rendition than the Vivo X100 Pro. I repeat, the difference is small between the two, and surprisingly I managed to get more detail in portraits shot with the Vivo by using the Pro mode instead of the Portrait mode. So for best portraits Oppo, but for day/night photography in general Vivo. X100 Pro is the king of HDR, it has no rival on the market currently, street photography on the Vivo is outstanding. Also in terms of overall photo and video features Vivo is more versatile while Oppo delivers a limited but good set of options. So if you really like to tweak parameters, shoot on manual and use all the photo and video modes then go for the Vivo, but if you want smth more simpler then go for the Oppo. Both are great smartphones. Also, take into account which Android Skin you like more, ColorOS on Oppo or Funtouch/OriginOS for Vivo. If you go for Vivo, my recommendation is to get the China version with OriginOS which is clearly better and richly featured packed than the Fountouch one.
The dynamic range, the color tune, and the zoom are better on the Ultra..

Yes, it managed to be better than the Oppo Find X7 Ultra which was the king until the Vivo X100 Ultra was released.
The latest update put them on the same level. The only thing is missing is the season ai modes
They surely aren't on the same level. The Ultra has a more powerful telephoto lens and sensor, shoots 4K on Dolby Vision at up to 120 fps, it supports high bitrate 70 to 120 Mbps for video recording, has manual settings in the default photo mode for tweaking brightness, contrast, vibrance and sharpness which allows the user the ability to bypass auto-sharpening or oversaturated pictures, a new Black & White color mode which is fantastic, the Humanistic Street photo mode with lots of features, better selfie camera on pair with the one on S24 Ultra, better battery, a little wider screen and 0 edge accidental touches which exist on the Pro version, better gimbal stabilization etc etc. And with the next firmware updates, the Ultra will only improve, the hardware is there, all is needs is tweaking to reach its full potential and surely Vivo will achieve tike they did with the X100 Pro.
