I could (and I do) watch Bassets for hours. I had one, Jake, or he had me. What a guy. Smart like anything! I love doggies, most breeds. I think Golden Retrievers are people in dog suits. But Bassets! Except for the slobber, the greatest breed. Handsome, charming, funny, smell good, too.
I had a dream the end of last week that if we as humans treat these half furry humans the right way then they talk... there are RUclips videos where the animals seem like they are talking it's adorable.

We’re getting a new basset hound puppy on August 1st. He is that very light red and white color. Can’t wait! We just had our 12 year old basset hound put to sleep at our house on Monday and our dachshund is going crazy without him. They will be best buddies for sure!
Our Basset puppy comes around 25 august. As a new playmate for our dackel. And we as well had to put our 12 year old dog to sleep. We had a cocker spaniel. We sure miss her but look forward to our new friend, we named her Speedy. Good luck and lots of fun with your puppy!!
I had a father son duo, raised both from pups. I never get tired of the "vicious" growls and the shaking of stuff in their mouths. I miss them so much.
