My mother's been gone for 6 years now, and my father's been gone for nearly 14 years, but I can still remember my mother telling me that in the early years of their marriage, my late father would see a Basset Hound just about every day close to where they lived at the time in southwestern Washington State (likely on his way to/from work), and developed a rather strong liking for it; IIRC, it even came up often in their conversations. A few years after I and my younger sibling came along following our parents relocation to a new home further north, we became a Toy Poodle family, and then a Miniature Schnauzer one as well. The two of each breed that were part of our family for years were amazing companions, but sadly, Dad never did get a Basset buddy. I can't help but think that he would have really appreciated seeing a video like this.

When I was at the vets with my cat recently I met a man with a Basset Hound who had a ripped ear, caused by his other Basset play fighting. He was so damn cute with his floppy ears, I decided there and then if I'm ever lucky enough to own a dog I want a Basset.
So Cute, I'll take a black, white and tan one. I know they are all gone by now, to different homes. Aww the older one is under the gate going I want to go too.
I loved our basset.. he wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, and we never got him housebroken, but you couldn't ask for a friendlier pet.. we figure if someone ever broke in to rob the house, he'd probably show them where the good stuff was..
I have a basset his names Baxter and he was born in 2007 and we got him in '08 and he's an amazing dog. Bassett are great family dogs and great with children and always so sweet.
My family had a litter of six Basset pups when I was young. When they were about eight weeks old, I invited my girlfriend over and conned her into laying on the floor. Then I let the puppies out and they swarmed her. Tails, tongues, ears, slobber and laughter... God that was funny.
That is so cool that you have a safe place for pups to play before they are fully vaccinated. Coyotes can jump or climb all our fences, so new pups don't touch the ground outside until week 18.
I am going to kiss all of those faces. ALL of them! Halp I am hesitant this ground is not soft and warm wat is it!? Grass? ....extraordinary. Allthekisses.

This brings back memories. When I first brought my basset hound outdoors, he became very excited, and tripped over his ears. I miss him so much.
