More youtubers should start their videos by singing a fanfare. I don't even know what the rest of the video is going to be, and after that it doesn't even matter. Automatic thumbs up!
I bought some on your recommendation and shot my first roll this weekend. Delighted with the results, I'm glad I bought 20 rolls as they are sold out for now. I used my zenit TTL with a Helios 135 and the images are tack sharp.
Glad to see you Pete, My favorite black and white film for dirt cheap was always Kentmere 400, when its manufactured new, it's gives out beautiful black and white images, when pushed to 1600 ISO. Awesome shots, man! Keep it up and going stronger. - Joseph
I used some of this back in the 80's. I shared a house with a chap who worked in an MOD film processing lab. He's occasionally give me short ends that would have been thrown. I used ID11 I recall rating it at 80 iso (I always rated standard FP4 at 80 as well). It prints and scans well
Your large prints are a great demonstration of the quality of this film. I use a bottle opener rather than a can opener to get film cassette lids off - might be worth a try.
re: film retrievers... one tip that works for me, don't bother and just use a length of old developed neg/leader, then wet it and poke it in to the cartridge. The wet film grabs on to the dry in the can and you can just pull it out. Far easier than the pickers which just drive me insane.
Excellent film, excellent prints! I really like how you embrace photography and the way you talk about it. Keep your excellent work Peter! Greetings from Portugal ;)
I do the same thing with my glasses! I’m glad I found your channel and I develop and print my own b&w. Very jealous of your large prints as I can only do 8x10. Well done my new friend. Cheers from NC, USA!
Smashing shots mate!… I'm also liking your no nonsense presentation style. Haven't shot any film this year, but I might try some of this. Keep on keeping on
Good to see you, Peter. Love those prints, the portrait of the girl in the glasses in particular is stunning. I'll definitely be trying out the 'Cine' FP4, although may have to wait until the spring now as we're getting into the dull time of year.
Peter! I find your insights into photography, film, and gear fascinating. Personally I'd be quite interested in hearing or seeing more about your camera collection. Over the years you've individually reviewed many cameras. Heck, I think I've been watching you probably a decade now. I can't recall you specifically discuss your favorite two or three 35mm manual focus SLRs, or perhaps 35mm rangefinders, or TLRs, etc. I'd be curious what your favorites are, what ones you would keep no matter what? Thanks for your great shows over the years!
Well Many Thanks for Viewing ! I'm no VIDEO EXPERT ! Really I have No Favourite Cameras - I rotate my Collection - it gives me pleasure and keeps my cancers at bay so the Oncologists have said !
Great review Peter alway a joy but the film is not a cheap as you might think Analogue Cameras are charging £6.95 delivery making it more expensive than regular fp4+.
Those a remarkably good prints from a 35mm neg. It seems that this is just FP4 with "cine' perforations...and expired, which is why the long dev times. But I could be wrong. What a bargain!
I don't know what you've been drinking (A silgle-malt Islay is my preference), but 135 film all have the same sprocket hole spacings and size. Kodak made certain of that when they developed the stuff.
Peter is correct, the sprocket holes for 35mm cine film and 135 photographic film can be different shapes, because they are optimised for different uses (continuous movement vs. single tensionings)

‘This is gonna be about real film mate’ legend. Great work Peter 👏

Brilliant review, I've messed around with plenty of Ilford but never shot the FP4! I'll have to give it a go!
A great find, I went and bought a few rolls as soon as I finished watching your video. I hope you are getting a commission!
Good to see you, Peter. Love those prints, the portrait of the girl in the glasses in particular is stunning. I'll definitely be trying out the 'Cine' FP4, although may have to wait until the spring now as we're getting into the dull time of year.
Thanks for the suggestion! I also really liked your videos on old light meters.
Thanks for the lead on the 35mm film. Your enlargements are fantastic, well done sir.
My pleasure!
Beautiful photography, enjoy watching from Redmond, Oregon.
Good to see you Peter. The prints are excellent. I particularly like the one of the homeless man with his dog in his jacket
Peter, you are a Legend. Just bought 5 rolls. Even with postage it's £4 a roll.
Go Pentax!!!
I bought a few rolls of this film and it's great to see folks getting great results with it..
Good to see you, Sir. Greetings from 🇩🇪 Germany
Vielen Dank !
With me doing bulk load, I'd just cut the film near the end an keep a little bit of film so I could attach bulk load film.😊
Great looking prints Peter.

Great Prints !!!!!! ThankYou !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great video, as usual. It doesn't look as if it a ram-jet type backing on it.
The RamJet was only for COLOUR CINE film
I'm amazed Dan could find a manufacturer of high quality film cassettes. Those 16" prints stand up well.
Great photographs, it is a pity that it becomes very expensive and not worth the cost in my country.
Peter knows his developing.. 😀
very nice prints.
Thanks Peter. We're the portrait prints on 16x12 paper from ID11, ID68 or 510 Pyro developed negatives?
The GIRL was from my 2 bath Formula the Old Bloke was with ID11 1+1
love ya pete, thanks mate
Great review Peter alway a joy but the film is not a cheap as you might think Analogue Cameras are charging £6.95 delivery making it more expensive than regular fp4+.
Am I being dense? When I look they are charging £7.99 each for these films. Not sure what postage is on top of that
great results, but im struggling to find that shop.
look for www.analoguecameras.co.uk
@@theoldfilmbloke thank you

Yea, cine frames are 4 sproket instead of 8 for our cameras.
Ilford hp5 , cheapest Ilford kentmere ok but shorter scale .
Those a remarkably good prints from a 35mm neg. It seems that this is just FP4 with "cine' perforations...and expired, which is why the long dev times. But I could be wrong. What a bargain!
more on developers please microphen has fallen off the edge of the world it seems
I used Home Made ID68 which is said is the MICROPHEN formula - I have NO Commercial Microphen in stock - could not see any difference with grain etc
I don't know what you've been drinking (A silgle-malt Islay is my preference), but 135 film all have the same sprocket hole spacings and size. Kodak made certain of that when they developed the stuff.

Already sold out ;(
Looks like they're out of stock....
