Hello Peter. I’ve subscribed to you for sometime now and like the brilliant simplicity of your videos which are very informative. I have used canon ef and ef-s cameras and lenses since switching to digital about 20 years ago. Everything you say is correct. If ef-s lenses did fit full frame cameras you would get a circular image as they are designed for a smaller sensor size. The good news is if you switch to a mirrorless canon body using the adapter you can use ef and ef-s lenses on any canon r mount body. You just need to set the sensor to record to the smaller frame size. I don’t have mirrorless but the reviews I have seen confirm this. Hope this is of interest. OMG PLEASE DO NOT post videos when you don't know what you are talking about! The mask you have fitted is for the waist level VIEWFINDER. You will damage your camera by fitting it to the focusing screen. You need the AMBER plastic screen mask that fits into small pegs UNDER the focusing screen.!!

Point of order: The Nikkor 105mm f2.5 is an iconic lens with a legendary reputation for sharpness. Wash your mouth out, Sir.

Very pleased to hear that your health is doing well Peter. 😊 The ‘S’ in the EF-S lens rage stands for ‘short back focus’. The rear lens element protrudes further into the mirror box, as APS-C cameras have smaller mirrors. EF-S lenses tend to be lighter and more compact than their EF equivalent.

A very informative video I have one of the Auto Takumar 1: 1.8 /55s it's one of my favorite s because it is a fast lens so I can use it in poor lighting conditions

Hope to see you around for a long time yet, Peter. For some reason the pancake 40mm lens fits full frame and aps-c Canon bodies, it has a 64mm field of view on the crop sensor models. The 24mm pancake on the other hand, only fits the aps-c cameras. The 40mm also fits film bodies of course. I had a 550D/T2i and sold it in 2018, but because I kept the pancakes ended up buying a 100D to fit them.

So glad to see you alive and happy. 😊 Those EF-S lenses as you said aren't mountable on EF without cutting off that plastic protrusion. I actually did that with 1 cheap zoom ef-s lens just out of curiosity and apart from some vignetting it worked well. And vignetting was distracting just at the widest focal lengths but it went away when zoomed in a few millimeters.

I had one of these, the Canon EOS D60 (not 60D, that was much later!) ... so when I got some EF-S lenses, I had to find some other old EF lenses so I could re-fit their mounts to my EF-S lenses!

There's always something to learn, it keeps the old grey mush in yer noggin healthy. I was given a Canon EOS 300 35mm film camera last year and I had to be careful when buying a lens for it. I found an EF 28-90mm f/4-5.6 kit lens that was paired with this model when sold new and have really enjoyed using it.

I have just bought one. Second hand and have learnt much more about the camera in 15 min than normally. I tried my lens the exact same one with the opening up the aperture blades and they were fine. I think its already been said but when pulling the rewinder up you have to slide the button to which also works, I have yet to put some fim through but you said that you messed about with the ISO with out dated film how? thanks
