I learn't all of the basic chords from 'play in a day' which I bought for 75p from a flea market in 1979 when I was aged 14. I lost that book and then started copying all my punk rock heroes, and later got into the alternative and indie rock stuff. Burt was an absolute Legend of a musician and a Lovely lovely Man! RIP dx
That would explain why Bert was a little hesitant and the songs were slower than I remember hearing them That said, he still puts his love for the instrument into every note he plays

He was a great inspiration and very gently taught me how I should have prepared the Yamaha SA90 that he had been presented with by the importers - where I worked in the '70s. He also used the little G50-112 combo at that time. Lovely man, and a hugely influential guitar player. Ben.
My first guitar hero - followed fairly swiftly by such unknowns as Chet Atkins, Lonnie Mack, Peter Green, John Renbourn and far too many others to even try to list. Both heartwarming and upsetting to see Bert struggling a little after having recently had a stroke. Reminded me of the first time I saw Peter Green perform with the Splinter Group very soon after his return. He also had real problems before he recovered. Two greats who nevertheless kept going. Hello. In the mid 1980's I saw a booklet of music scores featuring tunes such as, Apache; Albatross and Guitar Boogie Shuffle. The booklet seemed to be intended for listeners to Bert's 1976 album, 22 Golden Guitar Greats, on Warwick records. In recent years I have been trying to track the book down but so far without luck! Do you know anything about it, please? The title? The author? ISBN number? Publisher and Date of issue? If not, do you know who might be of help?
Dont be so negative. Bert Weedon is in sparkling form and as everyone can see, a great performer and a true gentleman. Stop whinging and attention seeking🙂

After a lifetime of fabulous playing....Here's to Bert still giving the best he can.....despite having health issues.....incredible....!!!!!

I went to a Bert Weedon concert some years ago, there was hardly anyone in the theatre, very sad really.

Strange to see him playing a fender Stratocaster I remember him playing the big golden Hofner in the sixties. Sad loss to music when he passed away.

I really enjoyed his music back in the 70s & 80s, Just started listening to his music all over again.
That's how I remember Bert always smiling. Listening to his playing very dated, but the recording is old.
