The Yamaha gave me a good taste after owning the FJR. Incredible bike. After testing the Venture, it felt much heavier to control in slow speeds then the GW. The amount of heat coming under the V was really high. I am glad I tested it in the middle of the Summer. Boy, it was an oven. Price wise, the V you can't go wrong. Great value. In the end of the day, the GW is a winner for me.
I had the fjr1300A model which was comfortable but a bit stiff. But I liked the power for such a comfortable bike. High 10 second quarter mile at 122mph. I couldn't imagine getting a heavier bikes with much less power than the gl. The eluder is beutiful, but the power keeps me away from it.
I rode the Yamaha several times trying my best to like it. I was looking to replace my high mileage G/Wing. I just don't like the small, new ('18 and up) Wings. The Yamaha is very underpowered and drags the ground at a very slow pace when trying to take a curve. I couldn't get used to the very low RPM engine and I keep hitting the rev limiter trying to get a little bit of power out of it. The engine heat is unbearable. Thankfully I found a very low miles '13 Wing. I do like the looks of the Yamaha.
What a joke. Really computer audio? Also rename the title. There was 0 comparison on what is better. You named specs only. That’s ten minutes I will never get back. What a joke.
Sou brasileiro não falo inglês. Mas um pouco que assistir, deu pra notar que eles deram muito mais atenção para a Honda, e se for uma comparação eu acho que ele está favorecendo mais para HONDA!
Both bikes are Amazing, But My favorite one of them no doubt at all it's the Spectacular Honda Gold Wing Tour ❤!!!, Great video, Thanks for sharing 👍!!!
Imho … Yamaha went in the wrong direction with the new Venture … the should have listened to the Star Venture owners and updated the V4 they had … they had a perfect bike
Well, in reading the many comments that I certainly respect from fellow saddlehorns. One big difference to me are the fenders of both bikes the Wings are plastic and the Yamers are steel which help contribute to its weight obviously. I don’t know about you but I’m turned off by the plastic fenders and prefer the strength of steel. That very preference along with others was why I went Kubota instead of the plastic fendered Deers. Yah, yah they’re not motorcycles, I get it ! But I prefer steel over plastic. But that’s just me. The wings plastic fenders are a deal breaker. Unless they are on a dirt bike-no thanks , Gimme the Yamer, I will catch up, And make a more appealing entrance when I do.
Owned two goldwings the past ten years after a bunch of other bikes beginning in 1976. They were BY FAR the biggest trouble of any bike ive owned. (24 at last count) I would never touch another. Enough said.
Yeah, the new GWs have serious DCT clutch issues and some catastrophic engine failures, and the early 2000 models have had frame issues, and then fork issues. Plus very high maintenance issues like a 5 hour air filter change and 6 hour defective shock issue replacement. On the bright side, some of that book time has been cut 80% now with new techniques. Honda is not the magical Lexus of motorcycles they used to be. They are much better than Harley, but there are so many bikes that equal or even exceed the GW now. However, once you get past some of those issues, most GWs do run 150,000-300,000 miles. The full auto transmission was a really really stupid idea, though, and Honda is paying for that with bad reviews and missed sales. If people really wanted a full auto transmission in their motorcycles they would just drive a car.
I feel like if "Yamaha" gets it's engine, horsepower 🔋 & torque up to a sufficient standard it would out do the Goldwing by a long shot. The Yamaha already looks way better in every category! The weight I do not care about, the heavier the bike is the more i like it. Just lets me know it is made right ✅️. Yamaha Venture is number one I choose it first over anything else when it comes to touring Motorcycles 🏍. 2nd would be Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager! & that is another bike that needs to up it's horsepower & torque. Kawasaki go back to the 2000cc engine please! Yamaha go up to a 2000cc engine or a 1900cc & and give it a good amount of horsepower and torque you don't have to make it fast like a sport bike? But a 140 to a 160 horse's & a 140 to a 150 pound feet of torque would do nicely for the bike. That would suffice for the bike weight! No one care about the weight with that horsepower and torque. That goes for Kawasaki & Yamaha. Everything else is "A" plus.
Yahmaha... whyyyyyy. You make this gorgeous cruiser and shove in a almost 2 lilter lump that puts out 80 horse and is slower than my beginner bike in the quarter mile. Why not reuse the VMAX 1700 v4 with some low end oriented cams and just a 7k rpm redline. That engine would still put out about 140 horsepower which is perfect for the class, right with the gl1800 and m109r
Somehow, they just don't look like motorcycles much anymore. The Harley Davidson retains that look and sound and is respected. The original Venture gen 2 has the look, the sport feel, the simplicity, the modern old school design. They had ample power to cruise all day in comfort. Today, these machines really don't give much appeal. Overkill in everything. Too much. Lots of power, so what, ifs not a race bike. And expensive too.
I love them both for different reasons. The Venture looks are amazing but the power and handling of the Goldwing is intoxicating.

I prefer my 1984 Yahama Ventury. I love riding it.
Sad thing is, this venture got the 1900 raider engine and not the v4 vmax engine. No wonder it failed.

Nothing beats the star venture where beauty is concern, this ride in red, chrome is a true touring gem😎
You are soooo right!
Goldwing is the better bike but the Yamaha is about 10K less out the door and its more comfortable for bigger guys.
I'm a Honda guy but dang that Yamaha looks so good

Ok how many Goldwings have been sold and how many are still running. Enough said.

Hmmm.... I would like the Yamaha over the 18+ GL, but the power is just a huge problem. But I love the optics of the Yamaha.
The goldwing foot position is a fail for long distances.
star venture is more beautiful, but i will buy a goldwing
One go fast one go slow..one this color one that color, one more gas one less gas. One heavy one more heavy. 😐
They forgot the KAWASAKI VOYAGER
On purpose 🤣
Imagine if I own those two bikes.
