52:15 my understanding is that continuous dungeons primary reason, was to fill up maps since often times when you get to lower layers, big portions of the lobby is dead, so the lobby feels very dead. With continuous dungeons there will be an influx of players thoughout the duration of the lobby that can join in and go down to the lower layers. Also it was a way for more inexperienced players to get in grab some stuff and get out. And now it opens up for more experienced players to join in. You never know who you will run into. Its less predictable. I think that a better solution would be to have different lobbies reque with each other in the lower levels. So essentially when you go down, you are put in a que like when you join a game from the main lobby. Then you stay in que until enough players are qued up. There could be thresholds. If there is a low amount of players qued for crypts, then it auto selects for a lower pop lobby and generates a smaller map. If alot of players are qued then a higher pop lobby that is bigger gets generated. So the size of the layer generated could be based on the pressure of players queing in for crypts. And queing here = having gone into red.
no dont make gear minted account wide. you should be forced to play in raid on that character. Having warlocks just transferring gear over to arena sets feels bad for any other class.
1:15:00 they could just limit the number of runs each day for f2p. For instance 3 free runs each day. Also limit number of characters and the shared stash. There should only be one bracket. That would be sub 25. That could also have normal level mobs. Bosses should be removed from sub 25/normal. Everything above 25 gs should just be hr and one bracket. If you need brackets, it means the gear gap is too big and the gear should be squished. If you have brackets, then bis gear becomes meaningless as better gear does not necessarilly make you more powerful since its relative to the bracket you can bring it in.
About the minted gear thing, instead of account wide minting, add a new merchant to the game, "The Fence" that could, once a day and for a fee, turn an item you found in raid into a minted piece for any character you have.
i honestly miss the first wipe when there was no gear brackets and you just played the game like a roguelike where you do PVE to get more stats and have no idea what kind of players youl be facing, you might gear up in crypts and fight some geared team in inferno and if you came out ontop it was a huge rush of dopamine with climbing the gear ladder. we used to do essentially zero to hero runs and when it worked it was so rewarding
Great podcast! Alittle worried about fog of war and randomized maps. Imagine trying to boss but you cannot find them on the map, or you had a great round and killed a few people but cannot find a blue portal in time anymore because it’s random 😂
1:47:00 what if barbarian just had access to all of his “basic” shouts(maybe on a wheel like we have spells) and they just shared a cooldown? I don’t think that would be too busted, and would give some skill ceiling to barbs
-124 hr lobbies are awful its full of ranger/rogues min maxxing true dmg with basically max move speed. That shits goofy and all of yall that play that are gross.
This is the single worst take in the dark and darker community. A single player pve dark and darker simply wouldn't be the dark and darker we all play. You are asking for a different game.

Theres a thing called invis that allows you to get the first hit, and wizard hp being that low that can kill a wizard b4 he ha can fight back even.
Ice shield and arcane shield negates 2 entire hits.
