OP needs to remember that while her parents are telling her she needs to be a good Christian and stand by her husband in his time of need yet, they kicked out ops sister when she got pregnant out of wedlock. Where were there strong Christian beliefs then.

Do yourself a favor. Don’t date anyone in the mental hospital. You already have to deal with yourself and the other person has their issues to deal with too. Spend that time working on yourself.

People who honors Christ with their lips but deny him with their actions aren't real Christians. Being a Christian isn't about going to church on Sunday. It is about living your life in such a way that you draw people to Christ by example. If any man every treated mu daughter that way, then may God have mercy on him because I will not.

Even though im atheist, this is why religion is just poison. The help that they say god would send literally exists as humans are the creation of god’s help. But people dont think this shit and will disobey the word of the lord of helping others in need, ignore that violence against neighbor and love one is a sin. Including animal abuse and lack of acknowledgment of animals being a creation of god. The one who is truly Christian is the grandma, sister, and bil

I’m Catholic, and getting a divorce and annulment is a huge thing, since we believe that when you marry, both souls merge to become one. But I have worked with Catholic charities helping abuse victims and protecting them. And the Church will grant divorce/annulment if there’s abuse, especially spousal violence mentally or physically etc., because God wishes for no one to endure abuse from the one person they’re supposed to trust. People like the two families aren’t Christians, and are themselves walking their way into hell.

"... it's your Christian duty not to divorce..."
It's also your duty to love, protect and nurture your loved ones...not abandon, hurt, and cheat on them!
It's every Christians duty to forgive but it's not your duty to forget. You need to hold those who commit bad actions accountable.
This man promised to get help how many times to get better going to rehab/therapy? How many chances does he need until it gets through to him? How many times is his family going to forgive and forget? What will happen if his own daughter is under his car wheels?! Is everyone going to forgive and forget then? Are ops family going to chastise her for being upset then?
A line needs to be drawn.

I am a Christian. I consider divorces a sin. Marriage is a sacred institution and should not be ended lightly. I also recognize the three As of divorce, adultery, addiction and abuse. Once a spouse engages in one or more of these, they have already broken their marriage vows. The marriage is already dead, the divorce is just the funeral.

It's not about forgiveness. I'm Christian, you can forgive someone while still understanding that you can't help someone who won't help themselves. I'm all for second chances but his behavior keeps sliding back. You can't make someone get clean, the best way to support them is to leave them and pray for them. As a parent you also need to think about what's best for your child. If he wanted his family back he needed to first earn that. Her dog being killed was a sign from God that she needed to protect herself and her baby. What the mother told her daughter is not Christian beliefs. The bible states that women should obey their husbands in all things but also says that the husband should love his wife more than he loves his own body. He failed to honor the commitments of marriage, he failed to be a good man, husband and father. He destroyed the love she had for him with years of abuse and even when he tries to show he changed he immediately shows it's a mask.

Religious that person is full of it if that person is saying divorce is a Sin those people wanna quote the bible
Luke 17:3-4, Matthew 5:44). And nowhere in the Bible are we instructed to continue on in an abusive, unhealthy, toxic relationship
The Bible says that God hates abuse, viewing it as sinful and unacceptable and “delights in rescuing the oppressed” (2 Sam. 22:49).
In the first, Matthew quotes Jesus as saying: “It was also said, 'Whoever divorces his wife, except on the grounds of porneia (sexual immorality), makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.” (Matthew 5:31-32).
So those religions persons talking about sin even knowing that op is in an abusive relationship can shove it
And who ever out there in an abusive relationship if they quote the bible show this verse and tell them to shove where the sun don't shine

Im not even Christian, but i do understand basic logic, and while divorce is frowned on in Christianity, adultery is literally one of the ten commandments which are like the worst of actions to commit according to the religion. I find it hilarious how christians pick and choose and ignore their own laws and rules.

  • @DAD-gt5te

I can sympathise with victims. But if understanding, sympathising and all do not cut it, then tough love is needed. The victim knowing that s/he is weak is one thing. Staying too weak and stupid for so long despite having a brain is another. A person needs to be strong for one's self. More so, for that person's child or children if s/he has one or more. Too, we need support, yes. But after all the tears and feeling lost, concern for whoever is trying to be strong for the victim should also be considered. One must choose to be strong, mindful and careful so that the process of healing and learning to stand up for yourself is less painful and shorter -- both for the victim and his/her support system.

    • @dozydoe5245

Some women stay out of love, thinking if they weather the storm, there will be sun.
Some women stay for financial stability, because we live in an economy that makes it hard to stay afloat in a single income household.
Some women stay so their children can have a father, not believing in their worth as a single parent.
Some women stay because their children love their father.
Some women stay because they share a pet, and they will most likely kill that pet if they try to leave, or they will have to leave the pet behind where it will get beaten in their place.
Some women stay because they're afraid, like my sister did. He threatened to kill us if she left him, because they had a child together and she had uncovered some dark secrets about him that he wanted to take to the grave. They found him with a gun in his mother's bathtub after he had murdered my sister, but she was trying to leave. She had her own apartment, her own space, she was going to leave the state.
Why would you EVER reduce and minimize such a real problem to: "the dick isn't that good 🙄🤭💞"
