Hi Steve. I’m a windshield installer. The reason your cowl trim and top windshield trim don’t fit is because the windshield was set in too deep. Meaning they skimped on the thickness of the urethane sealant. The higher the glass sits away from the body, the tighter the trim will fit and a smooth transition as the wipers go to the park position. Hope that helps
Love seeing the wife working on her car. I always have my wife helps me work on her c3 corvette. She never enjoys being on the creeper under her car. But she does it, cause she loves her car. 26 years this year, married to a gear head woman!!! Her 1st car when she was 17 yrs old. Was 1st gen Camaro. Before I knew her. Great job guys!!! Getting sugar momma ready!!!
No, they'll just say could have done or figured it out faster. Those sorts of folks will always find something to complain about. Because that's the totality of their lives. Without that they'd have to come face to face with themselves. Which wouldn't be pretty, probably.
When is standing beside Steve with his eyes closed for a moment, the look on his face is PRICELESS, WHY? Because he just stole the last clean shop rag.🤣
I learned that a 1/8th allen wrench between the starter shaft and the flywheel gives you a perfect starter gear clearance on a Chevy when I was 16 yaers old. My dad taught me that. Great video Mr. and Mrs. Morris
@@rickdyer1968 @ironmike & @scott are talking about a stock delco starter and your talkin about the aftermarket mini-starter- ie Tilton, Hamburger’s, Csr etc!
Hi, Steve!. I am glad to see the infamous, "Sugar Mama", the heartbeat of your business and the coolest wife ever! I will eventually get to meet all of you. I cant wait, I learn so much from all of you. Thanks lots!
I feel much better about several perplexing issues I have run into over the years that stumped me until the lightbulb in the noggin came on and I figured it out. I see it happens to some of the best too.
Great looking car combo Steve and team.. Thanks for the longer video and showing us quickly what you go through to get a brand new car built and running. It's not all fairies and unicorns like people generally see when you jump in, hit the starter and fly down the track. All the best of luck, can't wait to see Mrs Morris having a blast and enjoying the car....
I have to say Steve! You were right! That a nice car… the other thing that was super cool! You didn’t hide all the bull crap with all the new parts. Thank you for the Real World experience and how it really works trying to get your car fixed. Good video!
You're telling me that they don't start first time like on TV 🤯. Love the whole process, hope the wife has a ball on sick week and the wagon performs strong.
Super great build, I watched this at 5 am and my nerves were shot by 6 am with all the problems you guys had, and we all have been there in a build, but you guys got all that done and made it all come together in the end GREAT JOB, THANKS!!
Steve did you crank up the frequency on TIG? Great to see Mrs working on her car. Wish we were going to Sick Week this year so I could cheer her on. Need more ladies racing these events.
Cheers guys. Steve, guys like you pushing boundaries and technology makes all vehicles outside EV’s be able to benefit in performance! Best wishes on the road n track
Just booked my hotels and planing to come see you run in Orlando I can't wait to get out of this Iowa snow and cold! I got to see you on sick summer 23 but your car was hurt so I'm excited to see you run again.
Your a lucky man Steve, that is so cool the your wife is working on her car with you. That she supports you in your passion, and business. What a winner :) Where's the valentines fund for her :)
Bad luck with the windshield. 🙄. Good news is it made finishing the dash a whole lot easier. 👍. BTW, the interior looks 1000% better with all the red dyed black!
Wife unit looks like she knows her stuff. Nice to see that. That turbo bracket should have been made longer. Way to much work on valve cover to make it work. Never seen a hydraulic lifter cam run good on a BBC because of the angle on the pushrods to lifter which cause the lifter to pump up. Which makes the engine miss at times around 4,500 rpm. Happen to me everytime I went into 2 gear on a 400 trans. It seems if you make more than 40 pounds of oil pressure it happens. Stay below 40 pounds it does not do it. I had a 60 to 70 pound Moroso stock volume pump. Tried everything to get that miss out. Finally put a solid lifter cam in it and it ran great. If I new this I would have just put solid lifters on the hydraulic cam which a few friends did after I had the fix. They had the same problem so they cheated and just put solid lifter in it cause it was way easyer then switching cams over. Hope you don't have this problem. If you do that is the problem. Any BBC performance engine came from the factory in a car with solid lifer cam and a 60 to 70 pound pump. Low performance cars came with a hydraulic lifter cam and a oil pump with 40 pound pump. They were good to 5,000 rpm a 7,000 rpm or 6,500 which would go way past that use the solid lifer cam and 60 to 70 pound pump. I would just double nut the rocker arm and once the cam broke in never had to adjust the lifter again.
Steve awesome seeing the better half helping mine helps me she actually just went and bought her own creeper this past Saturday. she really likes helping when it's not to cold in the garage.
Hell, the boss is hands on! This must be a real important project. Now wouldnt you think torque storm would make an opposite hand compressor outlet? Surely you are not the first person to have these issues? The outlet should be on the outboard side away from the rocker cover. I do love seeing all the little issues on a new build though.
SM if you want clamps to hold your piping together when welding use your stainless intercooler clamps and just elongate slots around it so you can tack weld your pipes then finish off on the bench.. also helps with setups of piping instead of using tape 😉
It was nice to see Mrs. Morris working on the car. Kyle tell your Dad if it was an SMX in there, the cam sync would have been in the Big Block Mopar location, front right. Not in the way of a roots blower drive like those Fords. 😊
Looking forward to watching the better driver!! When we were racing back in the 70's we never thought of making a woman the primary driver. Not chauvinistic just dumb. Tri-City Dragway in Saginaw had a world class facility at the time. We had a partnership and shared driving responsibilities. A friends wife Donna Clark drove our car in powder puff every and won every week. We set over 12 National records in the 7 years we raced but never won a National event. Wonder what it would have been like if we were smart enough to put her in the car!
Something to note, shutting off the fuel pump won't always completely stop fuel flow. With the throttle closed , there is vacuum on the injectors and fuel can be pulled through depending on the type of fuel pump ( Vane , roller , turbine ) .
we built a 80 model it was galaxy silver metallic for my sons high school graduation the're very sweet cars . good driving and riding.only thing i would change is turn those white letters in..great job!!!

Super awesime knowing your building this badass car for you wife to drive instead of putting her in a mild 10 second corvette to race. One special lady you got there Steve. You must have told her "if you want to race thn your going to race FAST AND COMPETITIVELY!
Sounds awesome Congratulations 👏 but I would address the rear tire looks really close to the frame I had same problem I did blow a tire maybe make a 1/8 spacer...keep living the dream
Steve, had the same problem! It’s nice that you can screw them in, mine are press out , 7:12 press in all 20 of them oh had to change to bolt in tire valves….. I love hot riding Mike.
Such an awesome build. Just everything about it is perfect.. Barring the stickers and bluing on the tires. Question though.. how much will those Mickeys swell on burn outs? No worries of rubbing the inner walls thru? Love how Mrs Morris shut Steve down with the "I was faster than you for the longest time" I think she will be one to watch out for. Would love to see my two favorite channels head to head at Sick Week with you and the boys from Street Racing Channel. Wonder if you will end up in the same class any where in the competition. At least be cool to at the very least see a shits n giggles run between this and Billys new 55 or the Falcon with the new motor.

Truly bespoke and a good lesson for the armchair experts as to why things can take so long to sort out.
