  • Don't expect more of this, but it took me three days to figure out how to do something that takes three minuets, so i figured i'd share.
    Basically, pose the model you want in the pose you want in MMD, then save the pose (facials won't save, so don't bother). then open the model in PMX. open the transform window and load the pose, then save the model. open the new posed model in PMX, then export as a .obj. you can then open this in any editor of your choosing (i chose Blender) and you can export it as a .stl. (you may have to edit the mesh a bit as it might not be watertight for 3D printing)

    Thank you so much for this!! I was trying to figure out how to transfer an MMD model into blender without the bones and extra pieces (Trust me the other way I tried looked HORRIFIC) so I could then 3D print it for a class project. This made it so much easier to understand!

    Thank you, wanted to print kizuna ai, don't know what to do, and found this video.
    If anyone is having trouble with the print, just use mesh mixer, there are tons of tutorials out there. :)

      I'm glad you found it useful! I recently discovered Kizuna AI myself, she's very cute :)

    Getting my first 3D printer tomorrow! It will be fun to try printing a bunch of mmd models that I've seen in VRChat.
    Thanks for the vid :D

      Glad I could help! you'll have to make sure the meshes are clean, but that's mostly just Blender work

    • @pencillover12

      Yeah, I have a little experience with converting mmd models in blender to use on VRChat. So I'm hoping I can carry some of that knowledge over to 3D printing.

    hey the load pose in pmx doesnt work properly it loads some of the pose but not all

    • @LavenderTownsGhost
      @LavenderTownsGhost  6 лет назад +1

      make sure it's all registered when you save the pose, try using the pose on the unposed model in MMD first to make sure everything is registered.

    If i load my pose in pmxeditor the whole model gets destroyed. I have saved the pose normally through mmd and registered all bones (i guess).

    • @LavenderTownsGhost
      @LavenderTownsGhost  5 лет назад

      that's really strange, how does the model get destroyed exactly?

  • @Baab709

    +LavenderTownsGhost how do we include facial expressions in the pose data?

    • @LavenderTownsGhost
      @LavenderTownsGhost  8 лет назад

      I haven't figured that out yet sadly :( for some reason, only bone data transfers over into PMX, not facials. Once i figure it out, I'll make another tutorial.

    after i open the model in Blender my model doesnt has a color :( what happen?

    • @LavenderTownsGhost
      @LavenderTownsGhost  7 лет назад

      Sometimes the color doesn't carry over because it's looking for the textures in a different location. It shouldn't matter for 3D printing, because the OBJ will always be grey

    • @ZhenZous
      @ZhenZous 7 лет назад

      so when i print out my model its no longer grey?

    • @LavenderTownsGhost
      @LavenderTownsGhost  7 лет назад

      It will be a solid color, whatever color printing material you use. I know that there are some 3D printers that can do multiple colors, but I don't know how you would set up the model for those.

    I tried this. But when I load the pose in PMX editor in got hopelessly warped.... While it loaded perfectly in MMD. Any ideas? Maybe version imcompatibility between the MMD and PMX editor I'm using?

    • @LavenderTownsGhost
      @LavenderTownsGhost  5 лет назад

      The only thing I can think of is the bones not being the same between MMD and PMX, but if you're using the same model it shouldn't do that

      @@LavenderTownsGhost thanks for your reply. Will try again but I used the same two files in both programs... perhaps I will share a link to the files so you could check it out? (Would be much obliged.... ;) )

    • @phamoen
      @phamoen 5 лет назад +2

      Fixed!!! Problem with decimal point and decimal comma in windows. Another tip in the old 32 bit version you van uncheck 'vertex morph normalize' Which allows for poses to be incorporated better on different models. Can't find the option in the newer versions though...
