Great video, at the same time this is horrible that the Xbox one x has these faulty prone chips given this thing was barely launched back in 2017 or 2016 and is recent high end $499.99 USD when new so it was a premium game console and it has these faults. I've been looking into getting one but really scared away from finding this information for over a year now and just reminds me of my 2002 Xbox going bad around 2005 to 2006 leaving me very frustrated back then because my friends were also having problems with their then brand new Xbox 360s.
Hello I played games with my xbox one x and after two hours I turned it off. the day after it starts but it shows nothing on the screen but I hear the startup sound on the headset. I replaced the HDMI cable, tried to reset it using the power button and two other buttons, showed nothing on the screen. I had it for a year on the same table with the same hdmi cable on the same tv. I opened it and everything looks really nice, no damage and not dusty.
I've tried using a butane soldering iron/heat gun and also have used an 18v ryobi heatgun for multiple minutes straight trying to get my ic chip off and it wont budge, any tips? Also using rosin flux with both
I have a series x. Ive had it for about a year and suddenly out of no where im having this issue. Theres no damage to the hdmi port. I just want to know why this happens
heat related usually. The retimer is at the back of the unit near the exhaust port. Why msoft chose this layout is beyond me but likely a tradeoff for downsizing from the OG one. Over time the chip gets damage from heat
Its seems that the retimer ic occurs mostly when pairing an Xbox one s or X with a 4k tv. The fat xbox one never had this issues and its locked at 1080 max.
@@laboratorioassembler You are wrong it is possible to format drives on Mac to hfs+ in which case the USB dirve will not be readable by Windows machines. Adding a bit more to the right side, which you can see had a few pads with too little solder, and then just doing a pass on all the other sides to ensure they're all good too.
The connector is not defective the defect is at the two holes that is the wool the first broken pin that you do not connect to the pin so the drive is not recognized
I have replaced both HDMI port and Retimer chip and i'm still getting a no signal on the screen. Is there any other component that can be causing the no signal. The HDMI port is soldered properly and the Retimer chip as well.
Why don't you ever check to see if you have power coming out of the USB connector. You could have something wrong with the power connectors internally. instead of giving up after checking the caps and or resistors.
I sadly have that problem with my Xbox One X, i bought it used and when i turn on the console. I had to send mine to Xbox for service. Same thing no video signal. They charged me $250. They either fixed it or sent me a very knew looking Xbox 1X 1T reconditioned unit.
yup! Msoft in its infinite wisdom decided to place the retimer directly above the rear exhaust port. The solder back there takes a beating over time espeically if you marathon game

Add leaded solder to the legs to lower the melting point, use flux/soldering iron/solder wick to remove the solder from the legs, then raise your hot air temperature to 390 with 6 airflow, add flux and see the chip come right off.

Yes. If the Xbox companion app can see your Xbox when it's turned on and you can access it remotely, it's a video output problem, most often the retimer chip.
