Thank you for the review! Much appreciated! I had already downloaded a trial, and was looking for a good overview of the features. This was by-far the best video that I came across. Would be great if there was a bit more detail, like how it uses a single-knob tilt EQ, etc... Great work though!

wait so if there is only one engine for both open and closed hi-hats, can i give both sounds a different chain in the ableton drum rack, and them group them together in the chain view so they alternate?

Ahahaha, they make good stuff for sure depending on what you're looking for.
Gotta look into the rest of their catalogue but you're not kidding, I've been playing with the demo and the depth of the sound is insane!
What is a 'Wave' sound? Like a .WAV file?
Short answer, yes to a point.
Sampled acoustic Drums (Waves) vs (Synth)etic interpretation of the same instrument.
Heartbeat allows you to blend between the two, which is a really neat feature. Not to mention this is fully Modular now with Softubes "Modular Rack" plugin.
I should have mentioned you cannot add you own sounds, yet that is.
Made the mistake of thinking this is like a drum machine - its not. It does not generate beats....
It generates drum sounds, but there's no sequencer (as far as I know). The tag line Softube use is 'Drum synthesis is back with a vengeance', which seems pretty accurate.
Nothing innovative about this from an audible perspective. very bland sounding.
