Always LOVE your Flosstubes - you have such a pleasant, knowledable vibe! I enjoyed the reference to June as a “circus” at your place. 😂 As a retired teacher and Mom of three, gramma of six, I agree wholeheartedly! 🤗 I have been following all of your MiraMay posts and I am so grateful for the time, energy and expertise that was shared. I did start my first Nora Corbett (The Easter Fairy) and I am very happy that I did. It is progressing slowly but very nicely at this point. I am happy I began with a smaller project as I am a slow, stitcher who does not always have a lot of time to stitch. I am always blown away by the amount of stitching that most Flosstubers accomplish on a regular basis. Impressive, but I am not there at this point in my stitching career. Stitching brings me peace, relaxation and joy. Thank you for a wonderful Flosstube. Happy Stitching 🧵🪡 Jacque🐑

What I’d like to ask for future episodes
Working with blended threads, I’ve tried a few times but don’t really see the blending as well.
Preparing linens for stitching, washing a final beaded/kreiniked project
Beading and working on perforated papers, beading mill hill, etc.
Backstitching skin areas. Since there is a contrast between flesh tones and darker backstitches. Backstitching vs long stitching
As for the round robin, if it were me, I’d appreciate the bordering so they are all ready for stitching

Tree of hope is such a lovely pattern! It’s so kind of you to pass it along ♥️
Re Hawkrun, if it were mine, it would be so nice to have the hard work of the outline of the boxes done 😅 that said though, sentimentally, it would be so lovely to have a complete box stitched by my stitchy friend with their tiny initials backstitched in the corner (if Samantha would be open to that of course). Sorry I guess that wasn’t much help with deciding what to do! 😂.

Hey Arica! What a treat! Over an hour of stitching and chatting. I really couldn’t be much further from you here in South Wales but your videos always feel like we are sharing coffee and stitch stories.
The mono canvas has one thread, other canvases have two. I’ve never worked out why the difference but the two thread canvas doesn’t warp as much as the mono I’ve found in my limited experience.
I’m so glad you said you rested your @yearofthedragonsal for May, I swear each month is going by faster than the one before, but I’ll be back in the dragon bus tomorrow evening, it will be a welcome break from the Schnauzer I’m stitching, the confetti is incredible it’s like 50 shades of Grey! 🤭.
So good to see you, and looking forward to you and Samantha on the 10th.

The Fifty Shades of Grey comment made me laugh out loud and I am at work so people asked what I was laughing at and nobody seems to empathize with confetti stitching, Lil alone 50 different shades of gray… But I can empathizewith you that’s crazy!

I love the Tree of Hope!! I love that frog stitch, for sure adding that to my starts. I love to stitch in hand even with witchel or even cheap Aida. Bought a lap stand to try and it was a no go for me. Stitches looked great but I think I love the ease of stitch in hand. I used to get so upset when quilting and my points would not line up perfectly until someone told me it’s not a mistake if someone galloping by on a horse wouldn’t notice it. 😂. So I’m letting go (for now, stitching is stress relief for me) and applying that to cross stitch. 😂😂

suggestion on the arm: I would think it more likely that the floss picked up some dye from the fabric when you used it the first time. I wouldn't frog the over one, but the flaw is in a perfect area for a fancy arm band, maybe towards the top of the area, leaving a 'shadow' below. I'd couch a few strands of gold braid without securing the ends permanently and see if that is something you might like.
for Hawk Run: If it were mine, I'd love for someone to finish the outlining. That way, when S gets it back, she can work on whichever block calls to her.

Hi Arica! On Samantha’s project, I think if it were me, I’d love to have the borders in, so I’d go with the option to do the borders and the pumpkin block on the middle right. I’d love to see a Flosstubeversity on different types of stitches that can be incorporated into a cross stitch project. Can’t wait to see your new sock project in the works…I have often wondered about the variegated yarns and how they translate in an actual project versus just being a beautiful skein…of course, I don’t knit, but might somewhere down the road! I hope you get a lot of input on your Hawk Run piece. I think that by doing the outlining of the boxes the stitcher now has the opportunity to stitch wherever they choose. Maybe there is a color used in more than one box and that would be one way to have fun not staying in one box. I so enjoy your videos. Such a lovely calm speaking voice . I have to go back to the section on the Mira to hear what your fabric choice was as I have Royal Holiday started but it is in a timeout, but the one I’m dying to start is Princess Elianna. I had started it on a purple fabric but I didn’t like it but I think the color fabric you were using would be a good match. I forgot to comment on your and Samantha’s video about going to Stitch North - that was also my first retreat. I didn’t know anyone there but had a great time. This was a jam-packed episode! Thanks for all the amazing content. I even stayed for the knitting, even tho I haven't knitted in about 35 years.
I am a big needlepointer, tho, so I'll chime in to say that mono canvas is the equivalent of evenweave/linen with single warp/weft base threads. Penelope is that canvas that has multiple threads that make up blocks that kind of look like Aida. (I'm sure you've seen it.). Its good if you want to use big stitches covering the entire block in some areas, and then switch to petit point/smaller stitches for the more detailed work. Similar to switching from 2 over 2 to 1 over 1 on your Mirabilias. (This long-winded explanation probably didn't make a lick of sense. LOL)
Also, my vote is for doing the block outlines on Samantha's HRH. I'd love it if someone did that prep work for me.
    Take care.

Love your work, binge watching previous ones now. Hope the chart may wing it's way to the southern hemisphere 😊.
Bugger! Now i want to have a go a knitting socks🙄

Flosstubeversity. I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts on stitching with two threads - to railroad or not. Do you use laying tool? How do you use one ? How to get your stitches to lie nice and flat. Tension - what should correct tension look like. Too tight ? Too loose? Just a couple of ideas since you’re asking…

You know Sam, do the part that will keep her from finishing the piece. If it was mine or if I was part of the round robin, I would want the inner border done so I could stitch on any of the blocks.

I really enjoy your videos. I always learn so much. I would stitch on the border of Samantha’s Hawk Run. One idea for the University segment could a discussion of silk floss. I get confused by the different kinds of Silk floss and which Silks you should use on different fabric counts. I hope to be able to understand it all one day.

Loved the updates! I think I am a combination of a process and a progress stitcher. Here’s why. I enjoy just stitching some days and sometimes I want to just get it done. I like finishes. But I have trouble FFO. But if I don’t finish quick enough it starts bothering me and I will put it in time out. I can handle about 8 to 10 wips. If I get more than 12 it will worry me that they will never get done. 😂 I have Halloween at Hawk run it’s on time out until I get the urge to work on it. I am treating each block as a finish. It takes to long and I want to stitch all the things. 😂 now this is why I think I am a combination. I love full coverage but they take for ever to finish unless they are not big.
😊I like to see my stats because it keeps me excited to see my progress. I am learning so much about my stitching. For example variegated floss or stitch and confetti or when I have to stitch one at a time it slows me down. I prefer to use the danish Stitch or Victorian Crosstitch because I can fly with them, which is why I enjoy block Stitch that’s relaxing to me… confetti is stressing unless I’m in the mood for the challenge. Most evenings my brain is tired from paperwork and I want something relaxing. Stitch is my therapy to keep my mind active. Physical THERAPIST I had told me to never stop crossing because it keeps dementia/Alzheimer’s away. My mother and my younger sister both had dementia… both have passed this year, so I definitely don’t want it. So I will keep Stitch until I can’t see anymore…😊

Now I love the advice of that physiotherapist! I say stitch all the things lol but yet I can totally appreciate the anxiety portion as I feel the exact same way, too many WIPs on the go, and I get anxious about not completing the ones I already have yet still want to start all the things. The struggle is real lol. Thanks for tuning back in today and I hope you have a wonderful stitchy weekend 🧵🪡☀️

Hi! So sorry about the problem on the arm of your Mira. From far away it looks like a slight shadow that could be a purposeful part of the design. If it really bothers you, you might experiment with stitching over the top leg of the crosses with the right color. If it's not too bulky it would make it blend in better. Maybe try just a few stitches and see how you like it. I've done this and it works OK for me. I hope you continue to enjoy your projects, they are so lovely!

Thank you for tuning in and sharing your suggestions. I was also thinking the same but had the same reservation about maybe it being too thick. Once she is out of her time out, I’m gonna give it a go and see what happens. And if not another viewer suggested to be an armband over it, and I may do that because I have seen that in quite a few Mirabilia designs before I’m sure I can figure something out :-) have a wonderful weekend and I hope you get some nice sunshine! ☀️

Maybe pick a couple of colors to use in several boxes. I would like to learn better ways to start and stop a stitch when using one thread. Your stitching is beautiful. Hang in there in this bust time. It will pass before you know it. Big hugs.

I've been trying to catch up on all your videos and really enjoying them all. You've made me want to stitch all the fancy ladies! I really enjoy al the educationa videos too. A lot of thigs I already knew but it's also a nice opportunity to pick up some useful tips. One thing you mentioned about the fabric names from Zweigart because I'm mostly a 32 count stitcher I can clarify - Murano refers to evenweave whilst Belfast refers to linen so yes, they're both 32 count but not the same thing. I've been trying to get some more stitches in my dragons too so I will make sure to post an update at some point soon! 🙂 See you in your next video and thank you for all the wonderful content!❤
