Dude!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! This was a lifesaver! I was in full blown rage mode after doing the radiator (so many plastic clips!!!!) so getting your help on this saved me from burning my jeep down in the driveway 🔥🔥🔥 Thanks big guy.
I know I am 3 years after this video was made but Rock Auto sells the complete dual line assemblies for $85, well worth it..... I am about to do mine, great video on how to remove the lines,,,,
I did this years ago with the lines still installed and it has been perfect ever since. Im thinking of rerouting to a under body mounted transmission cooler and just using a small section of the hardline flared to connect to new AN stainless braided lines. Thanks for the video showing how to disconnect the hardlines from the transmission
Very helpful, never thought or knew I could just replacing the hose part. Definitely doing this instead of new lines. I think I can cut those clamp pieces off without having to remove the lines too.
You can cut them off without removing the lines but it is way easier to remove them. If you do leave the on you will have a face full of aluminum and rubber as you are cutting them.
They are still on there and holding up fine. If I had to do it again depending on if I wanted to save a few bucks and was willing to get a little dirty I would still do it the same way. If you want the easiest and fastest way out order the assembly and remove and replace and be done with it. Cutting the old ferrule's off is a little messy.
Yes, you can do it without disconnecting the lines but it is so much easier and quicker to disconnect the lines install the new hoses, and connect the lines back up. Do that under the jeep with crap falling in your face isn't fun.

This video was super helpful. The part as of today is $76 aftermarket or $129 OEM. I'm going to just replace with new. Thanks again!
Wow! This is going to be MUCH easier than I thought...I even splurged for the special tool to make removing the clips. THANKS!
Great video! Thanks a lot for putting this on RUclips!!!

What hose dimension did you use for replacement?
Should you drain fluid (extract fluid) from trans before replacing lines?
You can but I don't, I figure whatever I lose on removing the lines I am going to replace anyway.
Was your trans slipping at all or did you notice just fluid on the ground
No, it was not slipping It just leaking on the ground.
Did you lower the drive shaft to get to the upper connection on the transmission
No I didn't need to.
Is the fluid leaking trans fluid or coolant?
Transfluid.
Thanks for the step-by-step video! You did a great job!
Mine blew on me yesterday. Had lines replaced 6 months ago.
I believe it's a common problem.
How did you get more room to get at the top connection on the trans
I just reached up and got to it. I didn't think it was to difficult.
Mine leaking from aluminum line rubbing on the steering box.
Thank you, you da man.
How did they hold up 737mechanic? If you had to do it again, would you just replace the whole assembly or just the rubber hose again.

I think mine are leaking by the snap ring
Did you get a hot oil light?
No.
I was able to cut my lines metal clams without unplugging the lines at all...
