Islanders are gonna be a little tough because of their goalies but Anderson looked great too. I had canes in 5 too because of the amount of talent on the team.

I think the refs also played a part in a canes victory. Isles had two breakaways were they got held up just like lee did on his “penalty” and yet no call. Cant let the refs determine your W. But isles need to burry those open net goals. This is not ending in 5 games in my opinion. I was not impressed by the “way better” canes. Isles in 7. Also anderson made the saves but he looked shaky in a few, 2 post and a puck that almost squeezed through. He let a ton of rebounds to get picked off. Great series and an underrated one.

I don't know about a sweep; the Isles have some strengths of their own, and on any given night either Varlomov or Sororkin could get a shut-out...But I do think that Carolina will win.

Carolina will have lowest GAA if their goalies can be even decent. They are suffocating. I know my Wings weren't very good but they were offensively and I think one game they held us to like 11 shots. Crazy system they run over there in Carolina
Carolina's top line did not do the greatest this game and it was the other lines that came through, promising to see. That being said, it was one of the worst games I have seen from Carolina recently and I don't think it will be indictive of the rest of the series. I still have the canes in 5, but I really think this was the islanders chance to hit the canes before they woke up from the break.
Kuzy forget the penguin dance was a part of the Pens-Caps rivalry. It's really not appropriate for playing for Canes scoring against Islanders while being a bottom 4 center. Just sayin...
Carolina doesn't have numbered lines, and Kuzy is not typically on the 4th normally anyways. I'd argue the second and fourth lines looked better than their top line, but then again, it was not Carolina's best game.
Anderson was good, but I don't think he stole the game in any way. The Islanders have a way of making goalies look good. Dobson has to bury that chance with Anderson down. Shoots it right at his hands. Probably would have been reviewed for goalie interference anyway. Outside of that, Anderson did what he had to do.
My thing is Carolina had a down game and isles played there best but we still won and let’s say they come out the rest of the series and play like they normally do Carolina I can’t see New York islanders having any chance

They still came back from a 3-1 series deficit despite being massive underdogs as the 8 seed when the number 1 seed Capitals were putting up 40-50SOG every other game. Puck luck is crazy in the playoffs and the Isles have the better goalies just like the Habs did with Halk/Price.
That soccer dive by Skjei at the beginning of that game was pathetic, and disgusting to watch for me. I'd have given him 2 and 10 made certain the league delivers max fine. No problem with giving Lee the penalty there with the scoring chance but if that goes uncalled and Lee scores it would be 100% deserved. Just gross to see that before the playoff are 1 1/2 minutes old. I now want to see CAR lose first round and I started the game not caring either way. Save the acting for a post hockey career.
Coming from an Isles fan, who literally keep relocating arenas and ownership problems. 😅 By the way the Hurricanes are top 5 in the league in attendance for the last few seasons , despite being in a smaller city. Pretty pathetic a team in New York can't even fill their arena. I guess it's all the crime . Long Islanders are scared to leave to their houses😂
@@nsd82 Attendance is reported as tickets sold, not people through the gate. Pretty much every team gives remaining tickets to charities and radio stations to give away and artificially inflate their "attendance" numbers. So many games touted as "sell outs" and you see half the arena empty.
@@Borodin410 . It's extremely difficult to get tickets to any Canes game. They aren't giving any tickets away. The only way to get a ticket is second hand and overpaying. Many years ago when the team was terrible , they had attendance problems and there were whispers of relocation but that is the distant past. Any team goes through that when the team is losing. Even Canadian teams like Ottawa and Calgary has had to deal with that when they are losing.

Sorokin was a little shaky towards the end of the season and Varlamov was exceptional
