I'll see ya on Friday! I'm looking forward to learning the scene, track, and getting to know my STI better. Car looks great man 🤙. I'm running stock white STI.
Awesome!!!
Glad not everyone is selling their FA20 WRX! Keep it up, good luck at the track and with the new garage!
🤙 thank you!!
Sell? I personally think I would never
Hell yeah baby
If you are looking for a link to a specific product, please check the list in the description first!!!
Mods that I forgot to mention:
-South Bend Stage 3 daily clutch
-upgraded Billet clutch fork and TOB
-hubring spacers
If it hasn't been suggested already, you might want to install a rear cross-brace. I put a Mission in my '21 last fall, and it's made a huge difference for relatively little money. It's like your front strut tower brace on crack!
Yeah, that would definitely help with getting the rear to rotate with this WRX transmission!
@@WRXGarage yeah, turn-in and tracking are the most noticeable improvements. Body stiffness is supposed to be one of the VB's improvements over VA, so this is a relatively inexpensive way to address that without the aesthetic insults of all that plastic cladding and rear bumper-diaper. I've got the Whiteline swaybar/endlink kit too, which improved handling a lot, but more so with the front and rear strut tower braces. FWIW, the rear cross-brace made more of a noticeable improvement that the front tower brace, but also different kind of improvement. Car stays pretty flat in corners now anyway. Stock height, and probably going to stay that way since my primary use is driving to ski and grocery getter. I really appreciate the intel on your cracked splitter. As much as I might like the look in summer, it would be a real liability on a pow day!
Another solid vid! I want to put gold reflective tape around the COBB ethanol sensor like you did, what’s the proper gold tape that I should use??
Thanks Marc! Here's the one I used: amzn.to/3w8ro4a
It's the same brand that makes the heat wrap I used for my exhaust.
@@WRXGarage thanks! have you thought about wrapping the intake/intercooler piping and see it'll make a difference?
That's definitely a possibility in the future! The only issue is once the engine bay is completely heat soaked, the tape wouldn't really be able to do much
Love the content. But just a heads up that the mudflats create drag so you may want to take them off.
You may also need to change out the pads as well to something more aggressive for track use cause the F-Spec is a street pad just a heads up.
To be completely honest.. I don't think the amount of drag created would be measurable. Especially with how agressive my stance is, the tires poke out further than the mudflaps anyways! Definitely something I've thought of too though.
Yes I've considered that too. From what I understand, you always want a good balance between the strength of your pads and tires. If your brakes are stronger than your tires, you'll lock them up and slide. If your tires are too much for your pads, you'll overheat the brakes too much. So.. for now I'm sticking with the Fspec pads, will likely upgrade down the line when I upgrade the tires!
Any advice on oil smell in cabin? Usually smell it through vents when I'm stuck in traffic or backing up my driveway. Car is still super new, with 4k miles on it. Only has an IAG street aos installed. Took it back to the shop where I got it done and they didn't find any loose hoses.
Any noticeable oil leaks anywhere in or under the engine bay?
@@WRXGarage not that I can notice 🙁 things seem dry to me
Hmm, maybe an exhaust leak then?
Any clutch or fly wheel upgrades?
Yes! Clutch is south bend Stage 3 daily clutch. The throw out bearing and clutch fork are both upgraded as well.
Are you going to document the track days?
Absolutely!! Already have a plan on how to film them.
Any steering mods? Looking to tighten up my steering to make it more responsive.
The only steering mod I know of is the steering column lockdown from Perrin. There are a ton of handling/suspension mods that effect steering feel though. Front sway bar/end links, camber/alignment, coilovers.. all of these will effect steering responsiveness. A big improvement I've noticed was from the roll center kit from whiteline!
@WRXGarage Thanks brother! Love your content. Keep it up.
