So nice to see a clean wrx. One thats taken care of, and not beat beyond belief. Here in VT the majority of Subarus are beat lol. So its nice to see a clean one. CVT's are fine in my opinion. Just have to take care of them, like everything else. Change the fluid often, install a cvt fluid cooler, etc. Ive driven manual transmission since the 90's, and 2 years ago i bought my first cvt. 2 years on and im still having fun. Its no wrx, but still turbo and a blast to drive.
i like that my forester has sport sharp. feels pretty aggressive when you get on it. i have been thinking about coupling it with a bonafide throttle commander like sprint booster or something. get rid of that pedal delay.
Actually when you’re in manual mode it’ll shift for you regardless to make sure you don’t stall. This happened to me before when the RPM dropped too low, it downshifted for m
Turn off completely the traction control , go s# choose manual mode. It won’t shift guys if your tuner will tweak on them. The auto shifting is the ECU’s safety mechanism making you shift because that range is not compensated well
The upshift to 2 upper ratio has never happened to me before. Which year do you have? When in manual mode, do you prefer driving with S or S#? or do you prefer at Auto with D#?
I want to say like 315 and it’s stage 1 with an etune from brentuning and yes it can beat a manual wrx haha look at the next RUclips that’ll be coming out next week💯🤙🏼
This is probably bad but I usually put my cvt into sport sharp and if I’m on the freeway I’ll press the gas so I drop to second or third gear and the car launches... probably bad for the transmission but I’ve walked stage 2 wrxs
@@MrTikolik when you use sport sharp it turns your transmission into an 8 speed. So when you blip the gas it drops to 2nd or 3rd gear and your car will hold it there for a bit. When you’re ready to take off just floor it and it launches.
Great tips, more of these!

When in s mode it will shift for you 100%. I forgot I put it in manual mode one time and it shifted for me. Great vid too!!

Yeah in any mode it will downshift for you so you don’t stall but I’m saying that in S mode it will upshift for you even if your on manual.

Don't you have to mortgage your home every CVT fluid change?
My 14" XT does not shift for me, it lets me redline... Strange the WRX does not

I have a 2016 I like S#in manual
@AlexGuerrero maybe you hit redline and it autoshifted right as you shifted so it did 2 gears
what do you use on your steering wheel to keep the leather shiny and protected from wear?
Honestly just some armor all that’s about it
I like to stick with meguiar products or carpro products as well
get a catback exhaust bro! you'll get extra torque than a muffler delete so you have some back pressure👍🏽🤙🏽
Got an ETS extreme catback🤙🏼
I just got a catback valved exhaust for my Audi a4. I wasn’t aware it improved torque tho
Install uel on the cvt waiting on someone to do it.
Lame
what is your exhaust setup?
Ets extreme catback
Has your engine blown with ur stage one ?
What type of exhaust do you have?
I think I had ETS Extreme catback or just an axle back muffler delete...so basically a muffler delete lol
Yo bro where did ur racing videos go? I used to watch em from time to time
I’ll be posting some on my shorts 👀
How much horsepower do you have, can you beat a manual wrx ? & what tune stage is your cvt in

@@AlexGuerreroFilms 315 from a stage 1 tune?
Cap at least 290

💯
@@AlexGuerreroFilms press on the gas to drop to the gear then when it’s holding it at 2nd or 3rd get ready to take off and trust me bro you’ll fly😂
😂
What does this even mean how do you drop gears by pressing the gas? Reading your comment makes it sound like you just floor it in S#
