This takes me back to 99, rolling in clubs out in SF. Ten-15, Ruby Skye, parties at Backflip. Listening to this CD into the early hours of the morning. I felt like I would live forever. Those were such fun times, and did it all with the best friends I ever had. Now married with kids and responsibility. I’d give anything to go back, and experience the euphoria. Even if only for one night.
Same boat as yourself. Great times back then. Now its kids, wife, dogs (and motorcycles thank God!). Youth is wasted on the young? Well, it was wasted on us once and we enjoyed it. On to other things.
Ill never forget driving through the mountains of Lake Tahoe at night in a blizzard listening to this at highest volume while the snow, illuminated by my headlights, attacked my windshield. It was like I was immersed in an awesome video game.
Man this brings back memories. I grew up on this. Was my first taste of electronic music. I remember an old friend gave me this album and said "here man you'll enjoy this." I not only enjoyed it, I loved it! I wore that CD out listening to it so much. Then finally I had the pleasure of seeing him live along with Paul Van Dyk. Paul Oakenfold will always have a place in my heart that's filled with so many memories of enjoying his music with friends. Thank you for producing such a great album! A testament to his perfection!
+Mario Gallego that and Traveling CD 1 and 2 (if you can find it) Also his Radio 1 Essential Mix Live from Lotherton Hall; quite possibly the greatest live set in the history of dance music.
this album, help me open my eyes to my art and my poems. i remember letting tears fall from my eyes hearing "someone like you ". i miss dancing and all the people i met, saddly its not like it use to be. so i dance in my kitchen while cooking. lol. one love to all you old heads. rave on. :-*
+Me too, just turned 21! I was in the Marines and drove home every weekend with great dance music........this was definitely one that passed the time. PVD Politics of Dancing as well.
the first time i had a roll, my mate played for me this mix. it changed my life. from that moment on, i would never be the same. can't believe it's been nearly twenty years since that fateful night... hard to believe LOL
Paul Larsen Same here! What happened? I feel like my mind was changed dramatically and I was changed dramatically as well. I just feel so much more ethereal.
Can't see it down there :D 0:07 The Dream Traveler - "Time" 6:44 Three Drives On A Vinyl - "Greece 2000" 13:14 Tilt vs. Paul Van Dyk - "Rendezvous (Quadraphonic Mix)" 17:12 Gus Gus - "Purple (Sasha vs. The Light)" 25:27 Ascension - "Someone (Slacker's Rolling Mix & Original Vocal Mix)" 33:46 Agnelli & Nelson - "El Niño (Matt Darey 12" Mix)" 41:48 Energy 52 - "Café Del Mar (Three 'N One Mix)" 49:00 Binary Finary - "1998 (Original Mix vs. Paul Van Dyk Mix)" 53:50 Paul Van Dyk - "Words (For Love)" 59:16 Lost Tribe - "Gamemaster" 1:06:34 Transa - "Enervate"

NO doubt this album made other DJ's think, "I need to step up my game yo!" Major CD and a moment in trance history that won't be forgotten! Way to go, Oakey!!
I agree with many, could be one the best Trance albums ever. Being at 1015 Folsom when he played this set 13 years ago, priceless! It was a special time...
Alex Buka I hear you....I myself am a huge metal head but this album is a masterpiece, same goes for Crystal Method’s Vegas album. I actually saw Crystal Method perform in Austin last night and it was a great show!
Thank you! This is bringing me back to 1999 when Oakenfold played a Warehouse in suburban Vancouver. Played this album in its entirety and everyone was completely off their tatas. Amazing times.
the best trance set album ever, had this one back in high school mannnnnnnnnn this sure brings back some memories, good and bad. but the music is nothing but GREAT
Dan Spirescu That's funny to hear you say that. The exact same thing happened to me. When this first came out I was just getting into learning to mix with vinyl and I can definitely say it ended up influencing the way I play more than any other album to date. I so desperately wanted to have that seamless touch...so much that people wouldn't even know I had changed tracks. 15+ years later and I still play that way. :) Transport is damn near perfection.
Had my first major spiritual awakening when I first moved to California (San Francisco) in 1999. This song was a big part of the epic background vibration that made this possible. It never gets old! =)
Paulo Ferreira it's funny now that it's widely accepted but during that time you were a nerd or a dork listening to this stuff, because it wasn't main stream.
This is pure heaven. Me and my ex boyfriend had this cd and listened to it countless amount of times while going for long drives. I would give anything to go back ❤️
this album is my life in music formation. Good memories with my ex we were non stop. best years of my life. its amazing how music can put such great impact in one's life.
I am born 73 and when i was a kid People were talking about Woodstock and Flowerpower ... 20 years later i think 95-05 this Music was our revelution ... never growing tired of the "old" stuff ... peace and serenity to @
This is the most amazing edm album ever. It tranceformed this genre and set a benchmark which still stands today. It sends chills and I go down memory lane. Wow. First time in over a decade listening to this. I will never forget Ali G getting out of his beemer with the fluorescent light in the back windscreen playing track 7. I knew then this guy Paul is a legend. Congratulations on this one in a trillion album. 1998 way ahead of his time. People would stop me in the streets to ask what is the name of that album that I’m blasting on the pioneer speakers. Good ole days Corona free days.
18yrs later i can go to my quiet place, close my eyes and feel the goose bumps. B in the moment!!! The world would be a better place if everyone experienced this feeling. The sound of music, amazing. One experience, One family....Trance Family forever.
This is The Best Trance Album you can get by far!! Paul Oakenfold is an AMAZING DJ! You can't tell where one track ends and the next begins!!!! He is so much better than tiesto or hardwell on Oakenfolds worst day!!!
this album goes well beyond any trance music of todays era,,,,paul oakenfold on this planet yes and the planet trance a true master of trance...tranceport blows your mind

I love everything Paul Oakenfold produces etc. But my favorite is Tranceport (full album). So many priceless memories of my bff Martha and first love Jim Montoya.
Good tracks are getting their name and fames through time!!Although this is an album produced in late 90's,it still has its value for any trance music lovers!!
epic, one of the first Tance albums I ever heard from back in the day, and even still to this day I can't get enough of it and it has never gotten old!
Tranceport is the album that inspired me to pick up two Technics Mk1200's and start mixing and not too far along i discovered Tiesto In search of sunrise 1&2 that totally inspired some of those blend mixes as well as some on your face last minute beat switch up mixes that make your hairs stand up strait.
This is my first time hearing this album but I can tell you that if there's one thing I've learned since I've started listening to and producing trance in 2004 it's that the old stuff is the good stuff.
ums sh I would say dead, just in hiatus. kinda like dubstep went through when the masses figured it out, just like deep house is going through now. when the masses leave the genre so will the shit and quality trance will come back, though I doubt things like this will, there's just something about the.. imperfections that make older electronic songs wonderful.
BugattiFan301 If you've been producing trance for 11 years and are only hearing this album for the first time 4 months ago, then I don't know what to say.
+ums sh Get the fuk out of here, troll. Trance will NEVER die - "they" have been saying that since the late 90s and early 2000s when Trance was at its peak. It is still very much alive and well and is just as good if not better than ever and I am an extreme lover of classic Trance and always will be. Some of the greatest, today is Aly & Fila, Ahmad Romel, Pure NRG, Fairy Tayle, and a fuk ton more! Apparently, you haven't listened to ANY FSOEs. Pity...
I still get chills listening to this album my fave tracks: Agnelli & Nelson - "El Niño (Matt Darey 12" Mix)" Binary Finary - "1998 (Original Mix vs. Paul Van Dyk Mix)" Lost Tribe - "Gamemaster"

Yes... it is just that.
My first electronic album. Oakenfold in his prime was unstoppable. Incredible memories right here.
Same lol my old babysitter TJ gave me this album, and it revolutionized my taste in music for years!
no lie...all this new and day music that they call trance doesn't compare toike back in the day
This was the album that got me out of metal and hardcore and into electronic music.
Mine too omg!!
this album, help me open my eyes to my art and my poems. i remember letting tears fall from my eyes hearing "someone like you ". i miss dancing and all the people i met, saddly its not like it use to be. so i dance in my kitchen while cooking. lol. one love to all you old heads. rave on. :-*

Major CD and a moment in trance history that won't be forgotten! Way to go, Oakey!!

Yes dear
This mix is a gem and defines what real trance is!
Which track is at 08:00?
I been in the scene since 95'. And this record is iconic.
I agree with many, could be one the best Trance albums ever. Being at 1015 Folsom when he played this set 13 years ago, priceless! It was a special time...
The Mix album was probably the best and this in second or at least equal
Another classic Paul Oak album. Transport and Global Underground New York, still some of the best EDM albums.
I've been raised on metal but this this thing I consider to be perfect!
.
Yes, I agree. His music even doesn't sound pop stylish.
love you
DakotaEden Whom?)
Alex Buka I hear you....I myself am a huge metal head but this album is a masterpiece, same goes for Crystal Method’s Vegas album. I actually saw Crystal Method perform in Austin last night and it was a great show!
This album changed the direction of my musical perception. Was the birth of my infatuation with EDM.
Thank you! This is bringing me back to 1999 when Oakenfold played a Warehouse in suburban Vancouver.
Played this album in its entirety and everyone was completely off their tatas. Amazing times.
Один из самых крутых альбомов. Бесконечная ностальгия по событиям 20-летней давности. Продолжаю слушать в 2021!
the best trance set album ever, had this one back in high school mannnnnnnnnn this sure brings back some memories, good and bad. but the music is nothing but GREAT
Its my favorite too and is still one of the most seamlessly mixed sets I've ever heard.
Hououin Kyouma OMG The seamlessness of the mixes is what got me obsessed with mixing! Well said!
Dan Spirescu That's funny to hear you say that. The exact same thing happened to me. When this first came out I was just getting into learning to mix with vinyl and I can definitely say it ended up influencing the way I play more than any other album to date. the golden age of clubbin'
oakie/sasha/digweed/cattaneo/lavelle/layo&bushwacka
today's electronica has no heart
i cringe at the idea of 'skrillex'
trance is spiritual, dubsteb is more of a gimmicky fun thing, both can be good or bad in their own ways
makes by balls tighten "Skrillex"
danny howells
Had my first major spiritual awakening when I first moved to California (San Francisco) in 1999. This song was a big part of the epic background vibration that made this possible. It never gets old! =)
Going back in time... When there weren't crap music using the name of Trance!
Long live to the pure and real Trance!
The 90's were awesome! I was 10-20 in that decade.
me, too. w00t :)
Paulo Ferreira it's funny now that it's widely accepted but during that time you were a nerd or a dork listening to this stuff, because it wasn't main stream.
Amen bro
Yep
This is my "go to" album for late night road trips when you need to kills a few 100 miles.
Edward jones
This is pure heaven. Me and my ex boyfriend had this cd and listened to it countless amount of times while going for long drives. I would give anything to go back ❤️

The greatest trance compilation of all time. Every tune is epic and the mix is impeccable.
such a superb album. the part at 47 minutes always gives me chills when I dust off this album after a while
This brings back memories of EDC, Noctural & all the local parties in the late '90s / early 2k.
Arguably the best Trance album of all-time. My first EDM CD I ever bought. The memories are just amazing - made in ( where else? ) Miami!
Paul Oakenfold - Tranceport
Tiesto - Magik 6
Ferry Corsten - Live @ Spundae

ahh the purity in the intent of the music makers can be felt... lovely
best trance album of all time
Classic album! Takes me way back. Dancing until the sun came up was a regular thing, and it was amazing.
A group of us used to come home after a crazy rave night, bump some K, throw this album on, and crash. Priceless times in the year 99 and 2000.
+Sasha Zimmerman K killed the rave scene
+Emma pope as well as the criminal justice act i might add
+Emma pope While I see what you getting at I disagree in pointing out just Kizzle. Its bad but not as bad as other shit. K is no walk in the park though, steer clear...
Ofcourse
Was it odessey or airport?
This was the album that introduced me to electronic music, never disappoints.
This is when dance music and the whole dance scene was close to its peak. It was a great time. Late 90s. Early 2000s

epic, one of the first Tance albums I ever heard from back in the day, and even still to this day I can't get enough of it and it has never gotten old!
When I first heard this album years ago, I knew right there and then that I wanted to make Electronic music for the rest of my life.
It's amazing, it's nice to find beautiful music that's not trending
one of the best trance Music tranceport Paul oakenfold for ever remember
it's definitely good music, very well thought out and it grabs u right at the beginning and sets u on a journey...i like it alot
Simply one of the greatest trance albums of all time. Brings back SO many memories
I love how all the comments are pretty much the same... this is probably the 1 Electronica album everyone should have in their collection. EPIC!
My very first trance cd I ever bought. Partied with him in Dallas at Area 51. Thank you Paul for directing me towards great original trance.
BugattiFan301 imo trance is dead. these were the golden years when the album came out
ums sh I would say dead, just in hiatus. kinda like dubstep went through when the masses figured it out, just like deep house is going through now. when the masses leave the genre so will the shit and quality trance will come back, though I doubt things like this will, there's just something about the.. imperfections that make older electronic songs wonderful.
BugattiFan301 paul oakenfold was a god of trance. he made everyone on earth knows what trance is.
this is what we called a purely trance :)
Pity...
Ah yes the OG ALBUM /DJ that got me to take the first step into this amazing world of trance music. This is a MASTERPIECE.
I still get chills listening to this album
my fave tracks:
Agnelli & Nelson - "El Niño (Matt Darey 12" Mix)"
Binary Finary - "1998 (Original Mix vs. Paul Van Dyk Mix)"
Lost Tribe - "Gamemaster"
Legend English trance dj.. and so great to see touched so many americans on here.. trance is one nation
My all time favorite trance cd ever!!! Listen to it at least once a week !!!!
This introduced me to trance music and changed my life forever !
