    Just wanted to give you a big thanks for this video.
    We have the Ecovacs Deebot N79 (model DN622.11), which as someone else in the comments has said, is internally exactly the same as the one in the video. Our Deebot would basically start running then turn in circles for a few seconds and start bleeping with an error. On testing the wheels, like you show in the video, it was obvious that It one wheel motor wasn't turning properly and was shorting.
    Following this video I was able to clean out the carbon from the motor, clean up the commutator and get it working perfectly again. I'm subscribing and bookmarking this video for future reference.
    Thanks again!

      @@AlsAutoandAppliance By the way, in case someone comes across this with the same model: this one has a motor with a press-fitted gear made from brass, not plastic. I was not able to remove it, but the good news is that just removing the plastic back gives plenty of clearance to clean the rotor with a metal dental pick, followed by an old toothbrush and a blast of compressed air.
      Also, make sure you de-solder and re-solder the condenser's lead that is coming out of the motor and attached to the PCB (someone at Eufy had a "bright" idea of jamming two condensers inside the motor). That was tricky because it's so thin and barely noticeable.

    Thank you for the detailed instructions! The motor being clogged with carbon (or whatever) was definitely my problem. The only thing I struggled with was releasing the tabs for the motor housing. Mine were much smaller than yours but I got them. I had also never taken apart an electric motor so if anyone is looking at this and thinking it is too complicated, it isn't!

      You are very welcome! Thank you very much for your words of encouragement to the viewers. The worst that could happen is you break a motor that's already broken and at best you come away from it knowing a little bit more than you did before diving in and trying the repair! :)

    Great video, thanks for the in-depth explanation and repair instructions. Prior to watching I was really worried about whether the issue was the motor, control board, or something else, but trying to spin the wheel narrowed it down to the motor short. I'm having the same issue on my Robovac 11S, where the wheel modules are fortunately MUCH easier to remove compared to the Robovac 11 in the video (4 screws and it lifts out, the most annoying part is detaching the ribbon cable). I contacted Eufy to see if they're willing to sell me a motor module, but in case they aren't I noticed that there are 3rd-party replacement parts available in various places online: they simply sell the entire wheel module.

    Eufy 12 motors have their own access covers so are much easier to access. A _lot_ of crud came out of the motor once I opened it up. The rotor looked OK otherwise, so I put the cover back on the motor, reassembled, and all was well with the little vac.
    Thanks for the great video that saved me bucks!

    Nice detalied instructions on the breakdown of this unit. I have a Coredy robovac R700 and it is very similar - enough so that I could take it apart from this video. Funny thing is I was getting two codes - the solid light beeps once and the solid light 4 beeps and it was going round in circles. I cleaned out a little dust and hair but I didn't take the gear case off the wheels. Finally decided that if any of the motors were bad that I would have to just recycle the whole unit, but when I put it all back together it worked and no more codes, so I don't know what happened but it's up and running again for who knows how long. Thanks!

      Thank you so much for the kind words and telling your story. Great job getting it running again! It doesn't take much hair and debris to cause problems. Also, I've had a pet edition eufy that went in circles and that wound up being an axle becoming separated from it's drive gear. It was intermittent but only happened when on carpet. That fix is a whole other video, which I have not made yet. Good fix and hope you're good to go for a long while. 👍

      You might be able to just remove the bumper part to access the bumper switches and get those cleaned up. Sometimes a tiny bit of grease where the switches contact the main body is all that's needed to keep them from sticking. Some folks have removed material from the switches or the body to stop them from sticking. Let us know how it goes!

      Ugh, so it looks like the brush and vacuum motors are available, but not the drive wheel motor. I just looked at one and there is no number stamped anywhere on the one for the wheel. I'll have to figure out what an equivalent replacement is. Right now, it's looking like it's an RS-365 dc motor. I'll get some measurements and hopefully narrow it down. With that said, all of the motors I've taken apart and cleaned were successfully revived. Did you take your motor apart and clean between the commutators?

    • @AlsAutoandAppliance
      @AlsAutoandAppliance  4 года назад

      Thank you for the compliment! To get the board off of the motor, you will need a soldering iron. They are pretty cheap and there are some good tutorials on soldering/de-soldering tecniques. You will also need a means to remove the solder once heated. This can be done with solder wick (braided copper ribbon that acts as a sponge) or a solder vacuum. I would buy the motors from the manufacturer in china, but the minimum quantity is 1000 pieces and I also would be a little bit worried with the current virus situation going on there. If you do decide to tackle repairing the motor and you get stuck, feel free to comment and myself or other viewers should be able to help. Good luck!

    Great video, having trouble getting bumper back on. Help!

    • @AlsAutoandAppliance
      @AlsAutoandAppliance  3 года назад

      Sorry you are having troubles. The bumper can be pretty tricky to get aligned properly. The biggest problems I've come across are the bumper springs get bent during disassembly/reassembly, or the top and bottom half of eufy aren't closed together completely due to wires being pinched during reassambly. Take a look at those things and if all looks good, let me know and we'll try to figure out some other cause. Good luck!

    Thanks for this helpful video. I am having a hard time putting the bumper back on. Do you have any tips?

    • @AlsAutoandAppliance
      @AlsAutoandAppliance  2 года назад

      The first thing is to make 100% sure the main body halves are closed together all the way. Sometime a wire or two can get pinched between the halves which leaves them so very slightly open. This makes the bumper feel tight after reinstalling. I install the bumper with the vacuum upright. Perfectly center the bumper then hang it off the main body. While holding the bumper in place, flip the vacuum over on its back then install the bottom piece. If you are still having a hard time, also check the bumper spring isn't bent or damaged. This can make installation difficult as well. Please comment back if you get the issue resolved and what you found the issue to be with installing the bumper. Good luck!

      Hello. Have you seen this video: ruclips.net/video/Mo6kLUyUTKg/видео.html The four beeps can ALSO be caused by faulty corner brushes. If you get your eufy apart, unplug one corner brush motor at a time to see if the fault goes away. Also, if you unplug the brush motor, try to run it, and if it still has four beeps, then the problem is not with that brush. Let me know if you have any more questions.

    • @AlsAutoandAppliance
      @AlsAutoandAppliance  4 года назад +1

      Did this happen after fixing the wheel motor or later? It's possible a connector is still unplugged. It could also be a broken or loose gear or belt in the transmission. If you open the bot back up, you should be able to observe the motor to see if it is spinning. If the motor doesn't run at all and it is plugged in, then I would suspect a bad motor. • @AlsAutoandAppliance
      @AlsAutoandAppliance  3 месяца назад

      So sorry to hear the new motor didn't fix the issue. There's a chance the circuitry on your main board is damaged. Also, make sure the connector is plugged in securely. There's also a slim chance the new motor is bad. Something you can try is to plug the new and/or old motor into the connection for the side that works. You should be able to start up the vacuum and observe the wheels before it faults out for not detecting movement or the floor. Let us know what you find if you dive into the troubleshooting.

      Once you turn the power switch back on, does it immediately start spinning again or do you have to start a cycle? If it spins no matter what, there could possibly be either a short in the wiring or a transistor on the main board could have failed "on".

      You might have to remove the front bumper and clean off the window strip. The outside can get scratched up to the point where it either can't see or it thinks it sees an obstruction. Scratches can be polished out with plastic polish. The inside of the window will get dust accumulated and cause the same problems.

      Hello, and thank you for visiting! Sorry to hear you are still having issues with your vac. One thing that could happen during this repair is the brush assembly being installed 180 degrees from where it should be. This would have the same effect as soldering the motor back to the feedback board 180 degrees off. Did you repair just one wheel? You can try to unsolder the motor from the board and rotate and re-solder 180 degrees out and see if that remedies anything. Also, make sure there are no broken or pinched wired from the bumper. If you removed the main board, there is a good chance the front sensors got bent when reinstalling the board to the chassis. I know it's a pain, but it would be a good idea to take the robot back apart and just have a look at everything again. Let us know what you find and good luck!

    Hey there, thanks for another excellent tutorial for those of us in Anker's planned obsolescence hell! I love my 3 Robovacs, but something this expensive should last for years, not 13 months. Anyway, I've been toiling away working on 3D printing replacement gears for the side brushes, I've had 3 failed assemblies so far. Finally may have a working version, got it back together and it runs great for two full runs, but it can't find home anymore. It is such a hassle to disassemble again I'm inclined to wait a bit and see how my gears hold up, but does anyone have any ideas for how I might have messed up the homing sensor? I can't find any documentation anywhere (including your videos) that names or locates the home sensor. Maybe I disconnected or pinched something, but it would help to know where to look when I open it up again.

    • @AlsAutoandAppliance
      @AlsAutoandAppliance  3 года назад +1

      The sensors in the very front are how it locates home. Those sensors are also the ones most prone to getting bent while disassembling and reassembling the board into the body shell. If you remove just the bumper, you should see the sensors in question. Worst case, you won't see them and they are completely bent up under the board. If they are visible, they should be facing straight forward. If they look like they are bent in any direction other than forward, carefully straighten them out. Another thing that can happen is the IR sensor window strip that goes across the bumper can get lots of dust built up on the inside and/or the front side can get scratched up and the vac becomes "blind". You can use a plastic polish to get the scratches out. Hope this helps and let us know how things go.

I found another of your videos where I think you showed the sensors (here: i.imgur.com/I2Gsz6N.png ), and I guess I need to do a full teardown again to see if I bent one or both of them out of position, I expect that's the problem. Sure wish a full teardown set of photos with labels existed somewhere, really unhappy with Anker for this bad attitude about support, I updated my Amazon review to reflect this and encourage everyone else to do so, Anker will only respond to pressure on future sales.

      @@scottbierly3398 Thank you for that image. Those are definitely the sensors to be looking for. Definitely get it all the way opened up again to verify they are tucked into their pockets. Unfortunately, most tech companies don't want you to be able to fix their things when they break. There is a term you might be familiar with called "engineered failure". Designers purposefully use less robust parts to keep their products from lasting forever. The stuff they make money on is partially the product its self, but largely on replacement consumable parts such as brushes and filters. I think the parts website wasn't supposed to be found, lol. Good luck on giving yours it's sight back. :)

      @@AlsAutoandAppliance Well, that did the trick, she effortlessly found the home charger now that I fixed those sensors. I was super non-obvious when I was reassembling. I had done it 3 times before, always easy, but that time nothing would go flush, and I had to use some force (always a bad sign) to make it fit. In doing so, I literally bent both sensors legs 90 degrees so they were nearly blind, I don't know how it could see at all! And yes, once you know they are there, you can see how they tuck into their cavities when done properly, nothing complicated. My bad news is, one of my 3D printed gears failed after just 4 days, the tiny gear broke off of it's base part (the smaller double gear). Sigh. I worked very hard to get Nylon to print new gears within mechanical tolerances to function, but the layers delaminated. I might have to place an order to China to get some in the pipeline for future failures, sadly. Thanks for your help!

    This is great! I hit an issue when I reassembled the wheel mount- While the motor works, the gears make a tremendous amount of noise and I can't figure out where it went wrong. Taking a gear out produces no noise when I spin the wheel and when I test the motor with the 9v, there is no noise. When its all together, its hard to push the wheel backwards, but forward is easy (but loud). Any idea where I could have gone wrong?

    • @AlsAutoandAppliance
      @AlsAutoandAppliance  4 года назад

      Check to make sure the gear on the motor is not pushed on too far on the shaft or too far out on the shaft. There should only be a very slight gap between the gear and the motor. I business card should slide in easily. I found that the wheels/brushes being easy to turn one way but not the other is normal. If it is hard to turn in both directions, it's likely a bad motor. Could also clean all the lube off and reapply some light grease. Otherwise, if it runs fine the way it is, it will probably be ok. Hope this helps!

      @@AlsAutoandApplianceJust double checked all of it and changing the position helped a tiny bit. Hi! My Eufy Robovac 11 seems to have lost its mind. 🤨 It took a quick turn into disfunctionality. When my wife said it stopped working I took a look at it. At that point it wouldn't respond to the remote control, and it didn't respond to the switch button on the unit itself either. When it set it on the charging stand and switched it on, the light changed from blue to red and back again flashing and beeping at the same time.
    I charged the battery directly by plugging the cord into the unit. When fully charged when I turned it on it would only go forward, driven by the brush only as the drive wheels don't move at all. I noticed that when I turned it on when I held it upside down, rocking out left and right would cause functions to change sporadically for a while, but then made no difference whatever. I took it apart and everything looks good, but it is definitely not working. It seems to be a computer problem.
    I called the tech support line and they said to "recycle it" and but a replacement unit. After only 18 months I'm not happy about that, and wonder if you have any ideas?
    Thanks very much,

      Tech support is such a misleading title these days. Sorry to hear your eufy is sick. From your description, it sounds like there is something loose inside or there are loose connections. I know you already opened it up to take a look, but did you unplug all of the connectors and plug them back in? Also try to disconnect the battery for a while to then plug everything back in. If it still acts goofy, try unplugging one thing at a time to see if it is a bad sensor or motor causing issues. Did the unit ever get wet by chance?

      alsautoandappliance, Thanks very much for the feedback!
      No, the machine is never gotten wet. I did disconnect The battery for about half an hour and plugged it back in hoping something would reset but no such luck. I didn’t try it with anything unplugged, although I did try to unplug a couple of the connectors but they were quite tight so I left them as they were. I recently had a bad experience with a tiny connector on the motherboard of my old MacBook Pro, so I was a little bit wary. I did notice in your video that you used a pair of needle nose pliers to get some of the connectors off, so I’ll be a little bolder with this and try again. Sounds like A good idea to disconnect everything and leave it that way, and then plug things in again and see how it goes. Thanks for the tip, I’ll keep you posted when I get a chance to dip into it again. Blessings from Wales!

      If the motor runs fine when powered directly from the battery, it definitely sounds like a drive circuit issue. Are you powering it through the motor cables or directly to the terminals on the motor? There is usually a motor control board soldered to the motor. Has 360 responded to you if you've reached out to them? I wonder if there could be a sensor malfunction that is causing the robot to slow and stop the brush. That was a good idea to post the video of the issue. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. :(

They've concluded it's a motor issue and decided to send me a new main brush module (with new motor I assume) even after I told them I doubt it's due to the motor and them asking an engineer. Finally there is an answer: It really was this the small board. the small circuit board with capacitors, transistors and stuff, that is connected by only two wires (ground and current) to the mainboard and on the other side connects the same two wires to the main brush motor. This piece is replaced and now everything is working.
      After all this time I've received the board yesterday, but only the board. It was free of charge though. The Main brush is now spinning. I have no Idea what the board does, but it was obviously broken.
      There seem to be also other versions of the board with less electronics as this chinese teardown portrays. zhuanlan.zhihu.com/p/86223111
      Unfortunately I couldn't get an explenation after all this time from 360 since I never got in touch with someone who could tell me.
      No Idea why it is so complex, but maybe it shuts down the motor if it draws to much current (when it cant spin maybe), or it does some of the carpet detection (and increasing suction) stuff. The latter I can not confirm since I haven't got it working. The robot doesn't increase suction on carpets. Maybe it's just to stupid for that.
