The faction choice only matters for Cyrodiil PvP since the Three Banners War is the second "main story". The game was not good at launch but around late 2016/early 2017 they course corrected and it's been mostly uphill ever since. They realized that even though it's an MMO, it would be more beneficial to prioritize the "Elder Scrolls" half of the game i.e player freedom, play what you want, when you want, where you want, etc. That seemed to have worked because at this point ESO is basically The Elder Scrolls 5.5 with the majority of the playerbase playing solo or with an NPC companion. (Look into the NPC companions, they can level with you, gear up with you, and they each have their own personal relationship meter towards you with all their own individual quirks). That being said, the MMO side of it is also pretty strong, its easy to find friendly guilds to run dungeons and raids with. The major con is the paid store, we all hate it. That's the one thing they don't seem to want to budge on.
Thank you! How long have you been playing? Have you been there since launch or is this stuff you've heard from other players? Despite some complaints people have made, I've been genuinely enjoying my time with this one and I am looking forward to playing a solo adventure, but playing with my brother and sister in law has been a real treat.
@@ratedjentertainment I've been playing since launch (8000 hours and counting) so I've been there for every up and down. Right now it's up, a very strong up.
I started out as a skyrim refugee, almost 6000 hours in and still enjoying it. Elsweyr is my favourite chapter. Eso plus subscription isn't required to play but is actualy required otherwise inventory space prevents you from getting anywhere , there is stuff in the crown store thats earnable in game like potions a motiffs that are a rip off .Joining a guild will open up more content like 4 man dungeons and 12 person trials aswell as a guild hall for your crafting needs. I hope you all have a blast playing
Thank you for this wonderful comment! I appreciation taking the time to give us some advice! You've clearly been playing a long time, what is your favorite thing about ESO currently?
I'm so glad you're enjoying your first steps into the game! I've had it since 2014 playing on and off and there's always something exciting to draw me back. Would love to see more of your adventures if you're thinking about making any more videos. Don't worry too much about making endgame builds or farming for stuff until you've fully finished at least the main story and gotten your characters past level 50, you only get to experience the game for the first time once!
@@ZookieFyre I’m more glad you that enjoyed the video! I’m not sure I plan on making more ESO content. At least not any time soon. Great video! If you would like to progress into more difficult content (dlc dungeons, trials etc) you should start spamming skills more. If you would use the lava whip (or its morphs) in stead of light attacks, you would do 2x as much damage. Want to improve even more? Try light weaving (check vids on RUclips for explanation). From there you can prioritize buffs/debuffs and DoTs before using your spammable. You damage would improve massively and harder dungeons become more fun!
@@caskaptein9889 thank you! I appreciate you taking the time to share! It’s something I will consider moving forward! Admittedly I am super new to the MMO scene (unless you count playing Diablo with some friends) It’s been a great time so far! What is your race/class and how are you enjoying ESO?
Game is plagued with bugs and mechanics that will never be fixed or changed that eat up ESO plus sub time on a daily basis. It's kind of gross and if I ever meet any of the devs responsible for either implementing or not fixing them it will take every ounce of restraint I have to not rip into them verbally for the loser they are.
I am really early in my ESO journey, what kinds of bugs have you encountered? Was there anything you enjoyed about this game at any point or is there anything you enjoy about it now or is it just scorched Nirn and you're just done with it forever?
@@ratedjentertainment I love the game and play it every day yet every day I'm infuriated by things that are a blatant waste of my time. Like when Im minding my own business ripping around on my mount and go to jump over something but instead I stop dead in my tracks and harvest a wasp. Why can there not be a simple way to disable interactions with what is also the jump button while on a mount? I'll tell you why... because every time it happens its seconds ticked off my ESO+ sub multiply that by the player base and how many times that happens on average per day and we are talking about big money. Another thing that comes to mind is not being able to accept dungeon Q if you are in combat. Like seriously? For some specific dungeons I need gear from Ive waited an hour plus basically not being able to have fun in the game because I will risk the 45 second window I have to be out of combat and accept. Ive only been playing for about for months and have probably lost around 40 hours of playtime from missed Q's. Again, multiply that by the number of players in the game and we are talking about a ton of ESO+ hours in their pocket, so why fix it? Theres also this TINY WEAK sound that comes when you Q pops with no option to change it or add a better visual Q. Nothing. They want you to miss your Q and spend more time in the game. I can go think of a lot more gripes and have been very close to putting but we'll see.
@@neworleansmade504 not everyone game will be everyone’s cup of tea. I’m sure you’ll find an MMO to suit your needs and I wish you luck finding one my friend. 😊
I kept wondering watching your group do the solo early easy content together if ya'll listened to the voice acting at all? Because that is some of the best part about doing the overland questing in the game...and even hearing what some npcs then say about you and your decisions in the quests. Since in this video it was edited out it made me begin to think ya'll weren't listening to the voice acting of the quests at all.
I agree! I'm just doing the original main quest for about the fifty millionth time but I never get tired of it because of the outstanding voice acting of the Companions and the beloved Sir Cadwell. John Cleese, Michael Gambon, Alfred Molina and crew - I mean, come on.
We do listen to it, but for the purposes of the video, I was skipping stuff for more action shots. I will say that my brother and sister in law (as far as ESO goes) are paying more attention to that than I am.
@@Out_on_a_Limb_Life I figured that was John Cleese as Cadwell, the man's voice is unmistakable. It truly crushed me when my brother had no idea who he was. Also, who did Alfred Molina play?
@@ratedjentertainment I just returned to the game after a 5 year gap and am really enjoying it. @@ratedjentertainment This MMO used to be vastly different when it came out. The reason this bonus existed was because before the One tamriel update happened the game used to have leveld zones like all other MMOs did. And it you could only play PvE with people from your faction. Meaning that the only way to play as a Dark Elf in the Aldmeri Dominion used to be with the any race any alliance. Right now, they got rid of that, it doesn't matter what alliance you belong to unless you want to PvP in Cyrodill or in the Imperial City. And even if you aren't on the same alliance you can play Battlegrounds in 3v3v3 in teams of 4, from any alliance. I get the Aldmeri has the worst people lore wise, I know abit about how they tricked the Khajjits and how they have the Thalmor. I dont have any Aldmeri characters either, Mine are all Ebonheart which I think are just as bad lore wise, but what can I say, I like Nords,Dark Elfs and Argonians.
