  • In this video I clean out the water table on the Crossfire Pro, remove all the slats, slat holders, submerged drops and replace the water table fluid with a fresh batch of Plasma Green 1050. When I bought mine in August the price was $135/5GAL bucket, it's down to $99/5GAL bucket right now. These guys are not a sponsor, I have no sponsors on this channel. Everything I use on my channel is purchased by me. I've never been approached to promote a product, and if I think something sucks I'll tell you (I'm looking at you Columbia Coatings 1 lb hoppers).

    Just bought some Plasma Green 1050 from the link that you had in the comments. It's still $99, but the shipping is $35, so it looks like its the same price in the end, if you paid $135 but got free shipping.

      That stuff lasts a long time too, I've only had to use more when I cleaned out the table.

      @@galtsgarage5775 Do you have a recommended location for DFX downloads for various cutouts. I found some good stuff on Fire share that Langmuir set up but don't know of any other options. Just got my Crossfire Pro and only have one cut on it - but because the Torch Height controller doesn't work - waiting on a replacement at the moment.

      @@ericjansen9042 FireShare is the only one I've used and I didn't have much luck with it at first. I've modified every file I've pulled from there but most of them work. I would start out making cut files of squares and circles in different sizes like half inch, quarter inch one inch etc. just to make sure your table is dialed in and your kerf is set right. They are easy files to make. I'm pretty sure there are other DFX options on the Langmuir forum but I haven't checked them out myself yet.

      Did you fix the leak while you had the table empty?

    • @galtsgarage5775
      @galtsgarage5775  Год назад

      @@VWKID61 I did not, but I haven't seen it leaking again since the refill. I'm sure it just needs a touch up of silicone.

    Any thoughts on using a non toxic antifreeze like the premixed 50/50 in the plasma table? It has anti corrosion properties and won't freeze in the winter, should be able to take some degree of heat as well..its cheap and readily available..although it might be questionable to vaporize it in the air even if it's non toxic flavored..

      Nah, I'm definitely going to stick with the plasma table juice. It's specifically made for the purpose and I don't much mind of the table freezes, it thaws pretty quick when you're running it. It hasn't frozen more than the surface so it hasn't been an issue and it has been single digits to below zero F in there before.

    Did you get any symptoms of Metal Fume Fever from cutting the galvanized material?

    • @galtsgarage5775

      No I wore my PAPR welding helmet which pumps filtered air into the helmet, keeps the toxic fumes out when you're welding stainless or galvanized so I figured it would work fine for this. Also had the door open and a fan blowing across the table. I knew ahead of time the galvanized was nasty stuff, luckily.

      I made the mistake of welding it ONE TIME. Learned my lesson quick! I need to get the fancy air filtration system like yours eventually but it is so darn expensive!

      I have a nice Miller unit, found it on Craigslist for $400 which was a great deal. They even had it professionally cleaned and sterilized. I would look for one in the used market, even if you have to send it out to be cleaned professionally. One of the best investment's I've made. Stainless is really nasty, but you know if you're breathing it in right away because the fumes kind of smell/taste like tomatoes.
