Hey guys, thank for watching! I'll answer my own question, my favorite beat 'em up has got to be Urban Reign! I want to make a video on it, but I love it so much I want it to be something really cool.
For some reason this game popped into my head the other day. I couldn't remember what it was called but man I loved this game. That weird bad guy in the gimp suit, I remember shitting my pants having to fight him
I remember the hype for this game in old issues of Game Informer 😊. PS2 mania just hit and it was hyped never got to play it. Might hunt it down since I just brought down my PS2 from the attic to game some nostalgia into the new year.
It's tough to pick my favorite BeatEmUp... I'd have to pick Dungeons and Dragons or Knights of the Round. There's just something about those Capcom classics that I love. Sure, Aliens VS Predator had some nice new tech with the Street Fighter-ish moves here and there, and increased visuals, but DnD and KotR just felt more fun. Oh, and River City Ransom would even take the top spot, depending on my mood. There's something fun about that twist of RPG elements, and how progression in the game opens up new tactics.
I'd love to see a modern beat em up take this approach, with different storylines that intersect as you continue through them with the RPG mechanics. Really cool idea.

Game slaps, love the idea of branching storylines in a brawler

Early marketing of this game showed a ton of destructible environments, but the final game didn't have any.
A nice fun game. Im wondering though was this game well known or is it one of those "hidden gems"
It flopped on release sadly, I think it definitely qualifies as a hidden gem!
