This was a GREAT conservation. I appreciate all the indifferences because I can listen to Alyssa and say okay I can totally understand where she's coming from where people try to paint all Republicans with one brush and she's saying that she won't support this or that, and then I can also complete relate to Anna in saying why she chooses Biden, but then I could ALSO appreciate Sarah who helped the context by saying that's like asking Sunny to vote for the other side if things were I guess reversed, and then I love Joy for challenging Alyssa because that's how we get conversation about why we think certain ways and different or shifting perspectives. This was tennis, I loved it! And there was no foul arguing! It does show that we need 2 Dems, 1 Independent, and 2 Republicans at the table more often!

Alyssa does seem to care about kitchen table issues, but why does she think any Republican is going to do anything about it. They are about giving rich people tax breaks and protecting their wealthy donors. Democrats can always do more, but they are helping the middle class more than any Republican would. Who you should be directing that question to is Congress. Specifically your congressman or woman who runs your state. If nothiis getting done talk to them because they make the laws not the president. He just signs bills into law and pushes for great legislation.

How can you call yourself a fan of democracy when youre bullying someone telling them their vote doesnt count just because theyre not voting for your guy. As Sarah said, NOT voting is throwing away your vote. But if you show up to cast your ballot for someone that you've written in, that isnt the same as NOT voting. That was a great debate/conversation. I’m glad that Joy challenged Alyssa’s logic. At the end of the day, Alyssa showed that she’s very much tribalism as most Republicans. Alyssa acts like the President is be all end all. When in actuality it’s the senators, the house representatives, and local governments that really decide how the country is ran. You can still vote for a Joe Biden to make sure Trump doesn’t get into office and then vote your party for everything else because you can stop the president in so many ways with moving forward with their agenda. Plus Alyssa didn’t have good arguments in why she can’t bring herself to have make a moral vote rather than a “policy” vote. I’ve been a lifelong democrat, but you better believe it there was a democratic that was even 1/8 of a Trump candidate, you betta believe I’m voting based on my morals and values and let policies and tribalism fall to the way side. For example we have a JFK running on the democratic ticket right now, but if Anna on the view was to run for President and it was between them both, I would vote for Anna all day. Just saying 🤷🏾♀️

I'll NEVER understand why people do write-ins when it comes to voting. If a candidate is a good and strong one then they'll make the ticket, so no need to write one in. As for the crisis at the boarder there was one while 45 was in office and his failed wall attempt is proof of that. As long as it's overly dangerous for people to live in violent countries outside of the U.S. we'll always have a boarder crisis.
Yeah, can't blame the unfortunate immigrants wanting to escape violence and tyranny of corrupt despots and gangs, to live in peace and lead productive lives for the good of our society. They want to live and work in peace and provide for better futures for their kids. Who doesn't? The trick is to vet and weed out the criminal elements that embed themselves in the immigrant populations. Definitely better border entry screenings must be improved. When you write in a candidate, YES your vote is wasted. It HELPS the person less likely to win which is Trump and Ayssa knows it. Alyssa trashing Biden and his accomplishments was WRONG. As a Republican she has the typical Republican talking points with ZERO facts just an opinion. Biden is improving the country with low unemployment and lower Inflation and Ayssa is gagging on admitting it.
Im not republican but I get what alyssa is saying . Biden has made some mistakes as president and we can't just keep saying well what did trump do . when someone is doing a bad job we need to call it out whether it be democrat or republican .

In a blue state, it doesn't matter who you vote for
if this was one person one vote and the popular vote won out this logic would make sense but like alyssa said she is voting in NY, in the sector of Manhattan, that will turn out blue regardless. At least her vote reflects her own personal choice even if the canidate has no chance of winning that sector or state by large in the eyes of the electoral college.
It really does depend on where you live. If you live a throughly blue district, it matters less than you think it does. I live in a blue state that gets one vote in the electoral college. If I chose not to vote, it wouldn’t matter. We would still be blue. Now, I am going to vote, bc I always do, but that doesn’t change the fact that my vote isn’t that important as far as the Presidential election is concerned.

I kind of agree with both sides on this particular issue, but I lean more toward Ana, Joy, & Sunny than I do Alyssa (although in reality I often do not like Sunny’s takes on most things.) But I understand the feeling that if you have a binary choice where only one of two choices has a chance to win it feels like you are throwing your vote away if you vote for someone other than those two at best, or at worst you are actually helping one of the two choices win. But I also understand (and agree with) the fact that if one of those binary choices is an actual threat to our democracy and a true danger to the country then you have an obligation to vote for the choice that is not that.
I don't understand why some people were saying "hire Ana Navarro full time". I disagreed and wanted a republican who would have a different perspective and not speak democrat talking points.
Ana is right...we need to save our democracy and we cannot allow this clown to win...we have to be strategic if you really care about America...that's true patriotism.

I get both Alyssa and Sunny’s points. Alyssa is saying since she lives in a blue state her giving someone else a vote isn’t gonna hurt Biden bc he’s almost a guarantee if he’s going against trump, but sunny is viewing it as what if it’s an extremely close election
I’m at the point that if it’s left, right, everyone has a right to vote 🗳️ for their candidate of choice. I’m sick and tired of all the hate, and heretic politics. We all can agree to disagree and respect each others choice. Period!!!
Alyssa made a very cogent point that Sunny stifled with her soapbox. The moral calculus of how you vote for president depends heavily on the state in which you're voting. It is much more important to hold your nose and vote for the lesser of two evils in a swing state than it is in an uncontested state like NY. Sunny's vote for Biden won't be any more consequential to the results of the election than Alyssa's write-in vote. I think the system is terrible and completely undemocratic, but this is the reality we live in.

But the truth is it aint over till the fat lady sings. Alyssa's write-in will carry tremendous weight if others follow suit, regardless of NY's blue leanings in the past. It's like the vaccine and masks.... part of the reason non vaxxers/non maskers were able to avoid Covid was because the rest of us masked and got vaxxed. (Speaking as a NYer who lived and worked near the epicenter, and saw the reality of those harrowing early days....) She is relying on the rest of us to stop Trump. If - God forbid - she/we gets Trump, she can't blame the rest of us who stepped up and voted against him.
This swing state stuff - and constant polling - has to go. Electoral College is the worst, and a vestige of early big state/small state struggles and, let's face it racism/classism. If she likes Will Hurd she can show it by campaigning for him in future cycles. Right now the goal is to keep 45 out of the WH.... if she is not on board, regardless of what it takes, she can only blame people like herself if it fails.
