As someone who has been collecting for nearly 60 years, I just wanted to compliment you on your demeanor, attitude towards other dealers, and your willingness to share what you have learned and/or are learning. Most of all I want to let you know how uplifting it is to see young people, like you, taking this trade so seriously and joyously.
A few years back, us old folks started to witness a troubling trend in antiquing… interest in it seemed to be fading away with our aging community. Watching you, my heart is uplifted, knowing the appreciation has been born anew. Even more rewarding, is seeing that this industry’s green nature is finally coming of age, as the 3 R’s (reduce, recycle, reuse) become 5… repurpose and re-evaluate.
Thank you so much, Laura, and those like you… well done!
Thank you for the sweet words Marin ❤️ You just made me tear up. My mother collected antiques and always took in special pieces from family members who had passed away when no one else wanted them. So I was fortunate to grow up appreciating things from an early age. I feel silly saying this but I feel like I’ve found my true calling sharing my passion for vintage and learning here on YT. Never would have guessed this is where I’d be but here I am. I wouldn’t change a thing ❤️ So grateful for you and everyone encouraging me. This next year is going to be full of adventures and lots of learning and hopefully inspiring a whole new group of people to get more into vintage and buying 2nd hand ✨
@@leftcoastrevivals Thank you, Laura, for your kind response! I so appreciate your upbringing... my grandma was an antique dealer who dragged me along to fleas and thrifts from the time I was two. It was/is a way of life, and I have never looked back or regretted a single day (except for those pesky woulda, coulda, shoulda but didn't, purchases). I am so grateful for the revitalization you are bringing to this trade... and for the camaraderie I am finding with people less than half my age.
I'm planning a spring trip to California and Oregon, where I have family, which will include some selling, if I can find some good venues. The last time I did an antique show in Oregon was at the fairgrounds outside of Roseburg, several years ago. At the time there was also a flea adjacent to the antique show, which I would like to set up at now, but I don't know if it is still active. At any rate, email me if you would like to meet up and swap stories :)
All the best,
Laura M. (aka Marin Angeli)
In 1959 my father brought home from Japan the two large kokeshi dolls identical to yours. He was a pilot in the Air Force. In 1966 our entire family was sent to Japan to live for three years. I have a large kokeshi collection that I share with my second grade students each year!
Laura, you don’t know most of us personally, but watching your videos for a long time kind of gives the sense of being like old friends. It’s wonderful to see pieces of your past and what makes you so unique. Don’t ever feel strange for showing us that side of you! It’s one of the reasons we all come back every week!
Wait a sec: thrifter, MCM lover, traveler, foodie, lover of Italy and now fiction writer?! Please please please let me offer you coffee and bring you to my thrifting spots next time you come to Milan, Italy! I swear I’m not a wacko. PS thanks so much for making us travel with you in this season of lockdown!
Veronia is the home of a rescue club for small dogs and I got my new little girl there.
Why get so excited when... I see a new video from Laura.. ❤️💚... Much love from France.
😘😘
All of the personal history and sightseeing made this extra special. Great to see a young woman entrepreneur who supports and encourages the community. Inspiring.
The first basket you show in the car is made of pine needles. I was taught how to make that style when I was younger from an elder on the reservation that I grew up on. She made some amazing baskets.
You should do a video tutorial so the skill is not lost

Laura so nice to be reminded of how we used to hang and play outside with other children , its so sad that now children are playing war games alone on their computers with people they dont really know . Love your road trips , you look stunning in you red beret .
The necklace looks to be an anchor. You have found some amazing pieces!
Yes. Anchor.
Junk Drunk! I finally have a phrase to describe the feeling to my hubby! You found some pretty amazing stuff. The jewelry was unbelievable as were the prices. I just got contact lenses and I told my husband that I can’t wait to find vintage sunglasses like Laura and Selena! Love your videos! Keep them coming, please!
My dad made turquoise and silver jewelry. I still have several pieces. I love that you pick up so many of those from antique and thrift stores. You would love his pieces!
You must be the most likable person on RUclips!! I love your style and personality so so much🥰
Lots of love from a fellow vintage lovin’ mid century boho gal in Oslo, Norway♥️
That Casper ghost light!!
If I owned this store, I’d just close the doors and stare at the beauteousness within all day!
😅
I can’t get over ALL that turquoise!! Oh my gosh
I know I cannot find vintage turquoise at all here in NW Pennsylvania
Dying!!!
Hey Laura, I know I'm two months late to the party, but I think it would be really cool if you were to publish a coffee table-style book of your "Best of" of all the goodies you've found during your thrifting hauls! That's just how good your eye for design is girlie!👍🏼💕
WOW YOU SCORED! Volume needs to be up please. My house is all MCM so enjoy your adventures.
I’ll work on that! ❤️
@@leftcoastrevivals Hi Laura - great video but the audio was definitely too low. I had to crank it way up on my receiver & sometimes still couldn’t hear you. I’m the videographer that follows you guys. LOVE all that turquoise & your clock!
I felt I was right in the store with you!
I love silver, turquoise , owls and baskets.
The owner must have been happy with the sale and you were happy too with great finds and fantastic prices .
I think it was worth the drive and going down memory lane was so nice.
Take care 🇨🇦 ❤️
Vernonia is so beautiful, thanks for taking us along. I LOVED the jewelry you picked up!
What you were saying about talking to other vendors etc really resonated with me because I truly believe you should try and learn something new every day difficult in lockdown but not impossible
Laura, when my mother need to clean her black cast iron she would built a fire out in the garden spot and put her pieces in the fire. They would come out clean as new. Wash and re-season.
The teapots, paintings, cute little dog, baskets, blue bell flower lamp, pottery and rings were my favorites.🥰🥰 Only problem l couldn't hear you clearly, volume was very low.
Yes communication over competition thanks for sharing yourself & knowledge with us 🦋🌼🌻
Such a lovely video, I was almost crying while watching this. The nature is so beautiful in your area it always makes me think of "Twin peaks". By the way "the owls are not what they seem" 😉. This is a nice turquoise collection and a very nice clock. I was looking for a starburst clock here in Paris- no way. And the prises in this shop... omg! I adore your videos they are so inspiring. Thank you so much, wish you all the best.
OMG, those rings were incredible but those prices were out of this world. The necklace with the star burst stamp is luscious, I will look for it on your next jewelry sale. Stay safe and well Laura. Thanks for taking us on this clock/ring adventure ❤️👏❤️👏❤️👏❤️
With the turquoise collection, and the frantic way you picked them all.... you're gonna make me to have a heart attack !!!!😂🤣😂🤣
Ahhhh such a great childhood memory for myself as well......catching crawdads with my brothers in the river that went through our backyard. I grew up as the only girl in my family with 5 brothers and several male cousins. We all spent ALOT of time in that river. Swimming, tubing, fishing, finding clams, and catching crawdads. Life was so fun and wonderful back then. 🥰
Awww such wonderful memories huh ☺️❤️ Life sure was more simple then...
Turkish brooch looks like a cedar of Lebanon tree not a Christmas tree to me.
It was beautiful, I would love to wear it
Laura, you are beautiful. I love following you. You are a sweet soul 💕
Thanks for the sweet words Dorothy ❤️❤️
Excellant finds and prices. Dont ya just love those small town antique stores? I do!
Love your eye make-up, very flattering. It was hard to hear you. How cute, the owl foot stool. Owls are beautiful, saw one in the backyard, the sun was just right & the eyes were glowing gold. You ladies find the best places. Take care🎆💟
Hi, from Japan!
Enjoy seeing u picking 'one of a kind' where ever u are!!
Take care and visit Japan soon!!!!
We are still in lockdown here in the UK and I can't get out to mooch for treasure as everywhere is shut and we aren't allowed unnecessary travel .these videos are keeping me sane...thanks Laura!
OMG all the jewelery is AMAZING😱 I think I got a bit junk drunk with you😄. So glad you got the clock🙆 Have a wonderfull weekend🌞
Hi Laura! I so enjoyed y’all’s trip to the town’s antique store that had so many wonderful treasures! So many 🦉 & beautiful turquoise jewelry! However, the ring that you said was mother of pearl was really abalone (a form of mother of pearl) and I loved the lovely woven baskets you found! Y’all had such a great time, & we did too, as we got to go with you! Keep on thrifting & antiquing & sharing your videos with us! 😊💕Christina 🍋
Adding Vernonia to my thrift Oregon trip list!❤️
I'm behind the 8-ball in discovering your channel, so still watching older videos. I recognized the top you were wearing right off the bat, though. I love how you have such a good eye (and knowledge) about the pieces that you choose.
You have the sweetest energy and I started to cry when you found the clock of your dreams! Stay Gold!
Laura Laura Laura, SCORE! What a haul. Great video. I loved that you shared your background. What a great little town. What a fun place to grow up. Video got real quiet when you started approaching that awesome old building.
Getting emotional is very understandable. You’re talking about your roots! Thanks for taking us along!
That pendant you thought was a boat is actually a danforth anchor for a boat.❤️🇺🇸🌵
Aww ❤️ that clock was meant to be yours. 😊 I’ve been super emotional myself lately so I related... lol. I couldn’t believe out of all those owls there weren’t any macrame! 😂💔 That old abandoned building was beautiful. Before vlogging I used to do a lot of still photography and beautiful, humble abandoned places like that were always my hearts joy. ❤️ I wanted to make a coffee table book of old barn photos I shot. Maybe one day 😊
I’m feeling rambly. I would love to see you on tv one day! You’ve got it all. ❤️ I love that you always give history about the places you visit.
Love what you said about community also. Thank you for always being a positive role model ❤️
Thanks Ashley! Now that you mention it, I’m shocked there weren’t any macramé owls! They said the estate had 30K owls! 😱 🦉 Your photos sound beautiful 😍 You should make your coffee table book ✨
You have gotten so glamorous, your eyes and hair!
You should do a Valentine’s Day sale with all those owls and title “owl always love you” 🥰
Awww so cute!
You look so cute today.
😘
Thanks Laura....anxiously await yours and Selena’s amazing adventures.....appreciate so very much that you are sharing your world
That odd looking piece is a boat anchor i believe.
Love todays outfit, owls are cute.
Okay I'm a little freaked out. Yesterday I found an owl in the road. I live in Maine and it was really cold and I think he froze 😭 I called someone in the town to hopefully come get him and preserve him because he had not been hit. Then today I found a owl cookie jar and had to have it! I told my Mom that it must be a sign finding an owl in the road and then a giant owl cookie jar the next day. And now you found all these owls too! Crazy. Love your channel 🥰
Angie Silva hello, I also live in Maine - little sebago. Share your love of Laura , Selena ( recycled life), antiques, jewelry, pottery....
@@wendyconnolly9720 Wow that's awesome! I live in Sebago 😊 I have a booth in Bridgton thanks to inspiration from The Recycled Life and The Crazy Lamp Lady. I just love rescuing treasures 🥰
Angie Silva I have followed the crazy lamp lady for a few years now too. I’ll look for your booth. 😊
I live about 30 min from Bridgton...Love these videos!
Oh my god! "Give me all the turquoise things"!!!!! So jealous!
So much fun!!! The rings were off the chart but that clock was the ultimate!!!! Great score!
It's so great that you support local and small businesses , and this time you really scored . I love the Native American jewelry and baskets you got for such amazingly low prices . I'm sure you'll make a good profit on them all at re-sale . Have you ever thought of giving a donation to a local tribe , Native school or group ? So many people are struggling with issues around Covid at this time , and so are Native peoples all over America . It would be a very meaningful gesture to support them now as you enjoy their cultural crafts so much .
Love that you brought this up! I’ve been donating to a variety of Native American charities over the last year ❤️❤️❤️
Oh my goodness- This was your Day.... Love this video from the beginning to the end! Wow....you got some awesome deals...Can't wait for your Adventure.....thanks for taking us with you!
In Argentina, where I'm from, you can find those super colorful baskets, also made by the native people of the northern towns of the country ..... and on the coasts of the Delta of the Paraná River that goes down to Buenos Aires, you can find them too, made with plants from the river....I love them....Kisses from Madrid😍😘 PS: Give a basket, and make a cat happy, jajaja
Gasp!!! Just in awe of the beautiful turquoise and oh those baskets!!! What a find, so happy to come along for this virtual shopping trip:)
Your videos make me happier than 🍕. And I LOOOOOOVE 🍕 ❤️❤️❤️
😆 Now that’s a compliment! 😘
This store alone makes me want to book a flight to Portland.
Oh! The owl stool and planter/vase would look great in your spare bedroom for a child's room theme
Looks like you had so much fun!
Love the scenery too...beautiful!
Darn!!! Laura u just became my #1 junkin video star, sorry Yvon. I really love how u
Incorporate stories about ur childhood etc and the beautiful places u visit. I would like to know more about ur past education, where u went to college, did u major in design etc. Thanks for the fantastic vds!
I LOVE the feather earrings but they are so beautiful and unique you should keep them for yourself ❤️
That older lady looked at you like that is your favorite clock and you crying!!! 😀💕
My father loved turquoise too,,when was alive,it makes me happy how you love it and have and find so many pieces and use them😍🤗😇🙄🤔🤓😷😷😷
Had kind of a hard time hearing you on this one and my phone was up all the way but nonetheless great video!
Sorry about that! I’ll boost my volume higher next time ❤️
You can watch again with captions.
Couldn't hear either
I thought it was me.
What beautiful finds there was nothing I didn’t like thank you for sharing Laura xx ❤️🙏🏻🇬🇧
You scored BIG TIME!!😁👍
Those rings were beautiful I love owls anything owls and the turquoise is fabulous. Love your video Laura
Good to see you in Vernonia. One of these days I’ll again wander the town. Good video!!!Now I know more about my turquoise from Colorado and woven baskets from Mother.. And the swimming hole! Were you at the reunion when I jumped in clothes and all. It was so hot that day. And Aunt Carol couldn’t miss the fun with with all kids ! You are all kids to me.
I have that mid century clock too. It was my MIL’s. I have a lot of unbelievable mid century furniture and lighting that belonged to her.
I love ur look Laura, yes u sure did hit the jackpot with those rings. You scored big time.I need to take a trip Oregon.I love, love, love that clock,it’s you all day all night.I hope I can get myself a ring on the next sale.
Laura that's a lot of turquoise you found today I love all of things you bought💍💍📿🥰🦋🦋🦋🌻🌻🌻🐝
Those earrings are awesome. Would love to get a few pieces
Love and hugs girl. You are so sweet and we feel ya because we get emotional too when we find that treasure that triggers a memory.
I think the brooch your think was Turkish is probably Lebanese with a cedar of Lebanon in the centre. I love it.
I agree
I think you're really great and you are so lucky to find all that beautiful jewelry for such small prices, thanks for everything.😍😘😍😘❤
I think this is my favorite episode! Great finds out the turquoise and baskets. I loved seeing and hearing about Vernonia.
Love all your finds 👍🏻💜🙋🏼♀️
Omg so much turquoise! PARADISE! Zuni Navajo...and auch good prices 😍😍😍
Great video Laura. Truly loved watching you shop. You look so pretty and happy. Great to see the area you came from. Look forward to seeing your sale.
That silver piece you thought was a “modernist boat” was actually a charm of a boat ANCHOR! It would be perfect for someone who owns a boat. I grew up on the Great Lakes and a lot of boaters had that type of anchor. You were close!
The old bldg is amazing!!! Love watching your adventures. And the mid century sun clock is one of my dream things too! Love it
I can’t believe how great their sterling prices were! Great finds! I love those feather earrings.
Your filming is so well done. And your choice of music is soothing. Way to go.
Awesome antiques and jewlery! Great memories with your G-pa🥰
I am SOOOO JEALOUS!!! I have been looking for that EXACT SAME CLOCK for forever! My grandparents had that clock and they have been gone a long time now. Every time I went to their house, the ticking of that clock would give me comfort and I would fall asleep to it. I Soo want to find one but I can't pay an arm and a leg for it either! We have awesome thrift shops in a Minnesota as well, but, have yet to find one. Congratulations on finding not only 1 but 2 of them!.💖🤗💖
I can't believe the pricing at that store! By far the best I've ever seen. And so many beautiful things! I'd be heading there right now if I didn't live on the east coast of Canada.
Wow - what an amazing find for you! check out 16:03 for the perfect "junk drunk" face...what a fun jaunt with you today! Can't wait to see Selena's reaction to the frog vase. Thanks for the wonderful outing - from not far away in Marysville, WA
This comment you might not see but the Cherokee tribe here in North Carolina makes some of the most beautiful baskets you have ever seen if you ever come here to the smokies drop into the reservation you will not be disappointed!
You should keep the feather earrings if you love them so much. You put in the hard work to finds all the other pieces for your shop, so you should get to keep a piece or two 😉. You never know when you’ll find another like it. Love the video.
Hey Laura! FIRST u r SUPER! My taste and yours r identical on everything ! When your shop I'll c something before u do and know your going to get it! Just keep up with your Rad self and keep finding those all so super finds and bring a tear to my eye!!!
This was fantastic ! Thanks for the ride along ! You definitely scored!!
Beautiful town and treasures! 🥰🥰🥰
I love the extra footage of the places you love..and you're jewelry
Love all your finds, but it's Lorenzo in the basket for me! He's gorgeous. 😍🐱
He’s the best “find” ever 😆😻
This is my favorite video, so far. I enjoyed your stories.
You so funny! I thought you were going to hyperventilate seeing all the precious!
I felt like I was 😂 Sorry for the heavy breathing 😂😂😂
Oh man, that town looked incredibly cute.
I'm re-watching this, and I must say that for you to be dislexic and an aspiring novelist is pretty extraordinary!
And if I didn't say this in an earlier comment: $20 for the clock?! Freaking amazing!
I got junk drunk just watching this episode.
May I say, You are amazing you have great taste. Just started watching you and I love your great adventures and Oregon is so awesome. I’m from Ohio we planned a trip to Oregon for this year, it didn’t work out. But now I see what I’ve missed, really want to visit!!
I watch the video about the way Japanese dolls where made. Loved it. Thank you.
I absolutely love the feather earrings!!!!
