- In this week's episode I (Sam), have an afternoon out at Burbage South, going round a circuit of quality boulders in the low to mid 7s. Some of them are mega classics, and others have been a bit forgotten over the years.

easily one of the best climbing channels... knocked this one out of the park!
Cheers! Always nice getting such good feedback 😁
Love the informal commentary, nice to listen to Achilles description of the holds while you climb
Thanks!
Great video. This one felt special. The commentary over the video rather than pointed at a face really made it feel more natural. Like I was having a conversation with you at the crag or on the drive to a crag; hearing about your experiences and the boulders you planned to get on and why. It was engaging right the way through and not only showed off the climbing, it highlighted your love of the sport. Thanks 😊
Thanks Misha! Really appreciate the continued support from you 💪💪
The back wall of the quarry that contains Violence is the boulder traverse of Picnic In Palestine. I did it aged 64. The pocket on the left side is out of bounds. When Andy Barker and I did 3 variations on ''Hanging Prow'' back in the 70's we named it Lumbago.
Really loved this video. Personally I really like them with the commentary, it gives you a bit more insight into what’s going on with each boulder.
P.S pocket wall looked sick 🤌
Cheers!
Yeah it's really cool 👌
The climbing, commentary, cinematography... It's all just 👌
Thanks!
Think you’re on to something with the commentary. Quite distinctive and a refreshing change to most of what’s out there. Way more engaging. Keep it up!
Thanks! I'll keep doing it if it's what people like 👍😁
Some quality climbing! Love that you're including more commentary recently, it really ties the videos into something cohesive and gives a true story to every climb.
Thanks! I'll have to do it more often 👍💪
The shot of hanging prow before you got on it made it look much bigger; next shot with you was a shock! Great commentary!
😅 I often have that effect on boulders... Thanks!
Love your content so much! Cheers
Thanks!
The photography is shockingly beautiful. That light, those colours. Spectacular. You'd almost forget the great climbing ;-)
Thanks! Always helps filming somewhere as nice as the peak 👌
nice, really liking the narration, it defo levels the videos up where youve got nobody to chat with between tries
Thanks! Glad you like the style
Great vid. Liked the commentary !
Thanks!
The commentary is great!
Thanks!
Congrats on the 10K, well deserved!
Thanks!
ba
Bravo!!!!, very inspiring!, the places, the music, edition, the boulders problems!!!, great creation and mix of passions!, thak youuuu!!!
Thanks!
Sam is such a class climber. I would love to see a video of one of the wedge boyz visit Northumberland and ding an upload of some sandstone gems of like:
Simonside woods.
Awooga - 7c (Comp style pogo kick)
Bigger Berry - 7b+
Kyloe out.
Learning to fly - 7c (big dyno)
Prime Time SS - 7c+
Bowden Doors.
Alfie Thornton 7c+
Staggered - 7b+
Vienna - 7b+
Crack SS - 8a
Hepburn.
The Governor - 7c
Northern Soul - 7a+
Preperation H - 7c+
Hint... Hint ;)
Cheers Dave! Northumberland is very high on the list...
We've got videos of a few of those kicking around on the channel, but plenty more still to do!
It would be cool to see some of your training you did for this season! And as always, amazing content!
Every one of those boulders looks brilliant
Enjoyed the voiceover 👍
Thanks!
Great as always! As Chris mentioned, good to see The Rib get some airtime, such a classic that doesn’t get enough attention!
Cheers!
Wow...so much climbing here. Amazing footage, angles, moves. Everything basically looks so good! Well done.
Thanks so much! They're all really good boulders 👌
Not a bad tick list for a day out. Secret weapon under them hoodies 💣
😅 got to keep the firearms concealed 🔫
Keep up the commentary. Such a great insight into your thinking behind the process!!!
Will do! It seems to have gone down well :D
Loved the vid, loved the atmosphere and the chilled but informative voice over. Top job! Also some things I really need to add to my list!
Cheers mate! Yeah there are a few really quality ones in there, 'A Moveable Feast' is particularly good, I reckon it would suit you.
@@WEDGECLIMBING away for work atm, will need to work up back to some form when I'm back (I am doing some workouts here with Ash' boards.) 🤞the weather improves for next week!
Really enjoying your uploads lately. This one had great production!
Thanks! Glad you've been enjoying them 😁
Good one this, good sound track too 👌👍 I had been a bit of a Cheeky Charlie with regards to other posts (Ask Ned, Grimer or Dave 😅) but good to get some mileage in on the grit 👍 I've been in the North Sea all day, just blocked a bottle of Port and now on the PG tips comedown 😅 Will have to get Johnny Dawes on an Indo board next 🤩
Cheers! 😅 Cellar slab board maybe 🤔
Seb Grieve did a piss take cellar slab board gritstone head pointing training article in OTE back in the day. Pretty funny like. Sure Grimer would be able to dig it out 🤓👍
Awesome video, the stripped back commentary adds a lot. Would love to hear some thoughts when you guys are trying at your absolute limit
Thanks! I'll definitely do it for some harder stuff in the future 👍
Good to see even you found the Rib a challenge 🤣
That’s a very strong day out. Even if it’s way below your limit. Lots of hard problems. Good to see some beta for Greased Lightning. Looks like a committing high heel.
Anyway, banging video, as ever. +1 fan of the commentary.
Thanks! Seems the commentary is going to have to stay 😅
Yeah I think the Rib is desperate, definitely felt more like 7C territory to me...
Well, Hanging Prow is 6C so…. a bit of give and take… 😉
@@PeakDistrictBouldering 😅 you've not wrong... Not really sure where 7A+ came from for that one...
Congrats on 10K!! 100k will be along in no time :P
Thanks! Well chuffed :D
Nice vid 👌🏾
Cheers guys!
Very nice video, and very enjoyable to watch and listen to! I feel that the climbs in this grade range have a optimal fun to strength ratio. Gives me some inspiration to get back outside and to be more comfortable on doing more laps on boulders in this grade range (and climbing more of them!)
Thanks!
I think particularly with grit this grade has some of the best stuff around 💪
Keep it up with the commentary, think it's really important with story build up. It doesn't have to be commentary, can also be you telling the story of who did it, where it is, what betas are used, is it frequently climbed, hard/easy for the grade and why so on so forth. As always thanks for your content.
Will do 👍
beauty, and the movie was good too :D
😅 thanks!
Would love someone to do one of these for 6A to 7A climbers 😢 I know it wouldn’t be as good to watch but super helpful 👍🏻
It can definitely be arranged 👍
@@WEDGECLIMBING that would be awesome!
I did wonder how you'd got on with Pocket Wall Sitter - hardest 7b+ on grit? I need to have another look at it.
I thought I'd be on for the flash looking at it from the ground 😅 turns out it's well hard...
I reckon if you're not my height or similar the sequence I used wouldn't work, and I don't know how you'd do it otherwise 🤷
Banging vids every time. Tunes are on point as well. What's the last tune called?
Thanks! It's Ezra by Notize 👍
If I was visiting London and I had ONE day to go climbing, where should I go? I climbing around V5-6.
Visiting London or visiting from London? If visiting London I'm not too sure, there isn't that much rock around there. If visiting the peak from London then I'd say somewhere like Stanage or Burbage has the most good stuff to go at in that sort of grade range 👍
What's the song in the second half?
Ezra by Notize 👍
