It's days like this I wish I lived up North! Can't wait to get back out there... Happy Monday everyone!
Move to Sheffield 😋
Crazy timing, planned to to head up to Stanage Plantation today with a friend for our first session climbing outside, but i managed to lock us out of my flat with all our gear the wrong side of the door.
Will be up there soon though, that v6 looks almost achievable.
I also live in the north! Just on a different continent than Louis!😕❤🤘🔥
Have you ever climbed in Vermont? Smugglers Notch and Bolton are great and beautiful! #thegreenmountains
@@MrThidious I've got family in Vermont 😊 I've skied there but haven't climbed. Heard smugglers was a good spot.
@@AndrewMacFarlane smuggs and there is some amazing boulders in Bolton as well... if you check out Ben Blackmore you'll see some of em. But thank you for all of your amazing content. Keep it up because it inspires so many😉🤘❤🔥
ima be real, had goosebumps through the whole vid what a beautifully shot video, sound design and all. Well done Andrew keep up the awesome work.
Thank you!
The viewer: wow you could see the meat on his fingers
Louis: nah it doesn't hurt at all, let's go again
3:10 What a shot!
And very suitable music
This really gave me a great sense of wholesomeness regarding the human condition. In the foreground you have this climber, battling with ancient stone for his enjoyment. And the background, a jet shooting up straight into the atmosphere; a marvel of human engineering.
Let me know next time you're coming for some rock! Will get a few more pads under The Ace for him so he can take the swing and send! 😂
Yes please ha! Orrin, we should get a crew out for some more classics!
9:31
"What's the deal now?"
"Try it again!"
Having a shit day and this helped. I wanted to get out and try some local boulders that have probably never been climbed, the weather is crap but decent enough to get my hopes up.
The resilience Louis shows is awesome, he really wanted it!!! Great vid Andrew, love your work :-)
This was the most beautifully shot climbing video I have ever seen.. Super authentic feel too, amazing work guys!!
So cool to have Louis back. Could we have a collaboration with Magnus Mitbo pleeeeeeeeeeeeease
Great video, always amazes me that these kinds of things are just sat out there, in the wild. Beautifully shot. Would love to see more of this kind of thing!
Loved the calmness of this video... good work!
Seeing Louis battle against commitment on the Ace was super relatable, even if the grade wasn't.
Love the colors! Very cinematic feel with the music.
Best one yet. Relaxed climbing in one of my favourite places to climb in the world. More like this please.
What is this ? The Festival de Cannes sélection for best picture ?!?
But really that was a beautiful video. Louis’ right, the scenery is amazing and the boulders look fantastic too ! Absolutely loved it
What an amazing video. I hardly ever favorite anything anymore today, but this is going straight to the favs.
Love this video, the outside stuff you guys do is amazing!!
Stunning light!
Keep up the good work
super ncie job andrew! Very cinematic video with great shots and atmosphere
I love the color grading on this video. Great job!
Honestly one of the more beautiful climbing videos of watched? Just the lighting, scenery, and background looks amazing! Also the music just makes it seem magical! Keep up the good work y’all!
I'm headed out on my first ever peak district trip tomorrow! (Camping for a few nights) So the timing of this video is sooo perfect to get me phsyced! ♥️
getting more cinematic each video! great stuff!
Damn Louis killing it, so close on that V13! Leaving some skin on the wall
The sun going in and out as he does the Joker was really beautiful - the whole vid was! You should definitely make more videos like this
Really awesome content and no one ever gets quite that atmosphere then you do with your videos!
It's such a spiritual and powerfull video.... Like a billion times. True love ! You guys are the best
I'm usually too busy facing rock to notice the beauty of Stanage and it's a damn shame because you have reminded me how beautiful the place is.
Fantastic video, dont know how i havent seen this one before, great effort lads
Absolutely beautiful video. I feel like climbing videos are all the same these days, but this felt fresh.
Really enjoyed this!
Just gotta paus the video for a sec to say that this is brilliant. Lovely footage and excellent climbing - cheers boys!
I can’t imagine how hard that one move must be on The Joker V11! Wow!
Louis and Andrew back at it again....❤🤘🔥
Great video Andrew! I can tell it was one of those days where the light kept changing from moving clouds covering and uncovering the sun which are the toughest days to shoot for proper exposure but it looked great! I dig the orange and teal look as well, just a tad too heavy on the lut in my opinion, but regardless I like the look!
You should bring Louis up to North Wales! He'd crush everything!!
Long time since i went to stanage so some good memories there
Wow Brass Monkey looked like a lovely climb, Awesome work as always Andrew and Louis
That's honesty. Confessing to 3 years to do Deliverance.
This is one of my favourite pieces climbing content. I always come back to it. It’s excellently shot and the music editing is so well done.
It’s absolutely gorgeous. Well done
Edit: imagine going to stanage and doing Deliverance, brass monkeys, the joker, green traverse & not to be taken away and being miffed because you didn’t do the ace!
beautiful video. this is the ideal bouldering experience.
Pain is just a weakness leaving the body, video was sick man 🙏
Beautiful, you're spoiling us so much with the quality of these videos... This should be a netflix show or something...
nice video! Peaks are mindblowingly nice, I've been to peaks once and had similar experience! :)
Amazing video! Was about to buy a pair on BoulderDenim. Unfortunately shipping to the Netherlands is just as expensive as the pair of jeans..
The warrior path is forged in blood and boulders
Nice intro, music is perfect
Great video! You can definitely see how much effort was put into it!
Only one small thing was slightly disturbing: sometimes some spots in the footage are absolutely dark. This could be avoided by filming with a brighter setting and adjusting the colors (which are really nice!) and contrast when editing.
3:09 Epic!
Might want to throw some superglue into your kit :D
is this England's version of Bishop, CA?
The lack of spotters and crashpads made me really nervous
6:50 That's the theme from Apex Legends! ...which seems kind of appropriate :D
The Joker is a 1 move 8A? Those crimps have to be reaaaaal bad :O
Great video. By the way, I don't believe the code works on Boulder Denim's website.
Thanks for flagging that! I just pinged the BoulderDenim team to get that fixed! I'll let you know when it's sorted.
Up and working now! Thanks again!
Does Louis use off the shelf super glue or is it a medical glue foe the tips?
Brrrrrrr!
Really nice video and colograding. Just one tip; In some of the shots the blacks in the shadows is a little bit to crushed, it makes it hard to see all the detail in the rock. Other than that, I would like to thank you so much for all your effort making these videos! I know it takes a lot of time!
Cheers Tomas! Ya, I picked up a new camera and this was my first attempt at grading in Davinci... still working things out ha. What monitor do you use? Think I need one with more color accuracy and was looking at Benq IPS.
One more tip. To eliminate the annoying wind noise you should EQ the low end down and/or use a high pass filter. Louie's voice will still be clear it's a higher frequency but the low end wind should be taken out or at least more tolerable.
Andrew MacFarlane I just use a Dell laptop with a 4K screen. Its not the best but calibration helps. Benq ips is great, awesome value for money
should I get the jeans?
I think Green Traverse is supposed to be F7A without heel hooks. Not that I could do it with heel hooks anyway...
Cool to see you guys somewhere I've been before! Beautiful day
It's 7a with or without heel hooks. The version without heel hooks is called Green Traverse (Strict) on ukc and is given 7a. The reachy heel method that Louis used is called Rons Reach and is also 7a.
@@Adam_Wheeler He just did a normal way, not rons reach - any way of doing it would be super easy for louis!
when does commitment to the boulder become self-harm
Boulders smashing Louis more like ^^
Dont know how anyone climbs on such cold rock it kills my fingers no way I can crimp
great video but a bit too much post processing in my eyes :D
Don’t get how you can wear your glasses while climbing. I sacrifice my vision to keep chalk off my glasses lenses
Tell Louis to watch his ears, if he rips them off on a wall he'll be reduced to wearing Oakley glasses frames. (which aren't bad but don't give a huge amount of choice either.)
Maud Glazbrooke what?!?!?!
Haha gollum thinks he's smart but there no "degree" in the Kelvin scale.
First
do you think you could reduce the contrast a bit? The colors look great but it was kind of hard to see the holds and rock's shape in the shady parts
