- WDM 3D becomes the GOD of Death, Yamaraja, to an unfortunate dog, but spares another dog by just a fraction of a second. Deep condolences to the Dog who met such an unfortunate end. As the law of nature, birth and death are both the sides of the same coin and death is sure to occur in some form or the other and has occurred in this form to the unfortunate dog. May the departed soul rest in peace.

There's something weird or let me put it in another way,mysterios about the video.
Dogs generally are among the most intelligent 4 foot animals,pet or stray.
The train actually slows down while it approaches the animal but it seems kind of disoriented as it walks.It is very much possible that the animal had lost it hearing ability because dogs normally have quick responses but the animal in this case seems to be least affected by the train horn.His response in this case is the visual of something gigantic approaching him but its too late to react.As is clearly visible in the video,he acts the moment he turns and merely ducts out of the way and is hit by the side of engine.
Another weird thing is after the hit,he doesn't really fall sideways but kind of flips in the air as if there was something else,some wire kind of thing sideways to which he got entangled.The video isn't hd so it's still unclear.A normal side hit wouldn't cause him to fall that way.

I think stray dogs that live close to railway tracks eventually become desensitized to the regular rumbling and honking of passing trains. Moreover, the train was passing at a high speed and the dog (it looks old and weak) probably realized its approach a bit too late. Sad, indeed.

I watched this video several times at 0.25x-speed and the bouncing and twirl that dog does? The only way I can describe it is: It’s almost festive, in a very melancholy sort of way.
I wonder if the dog survived that hit, looked pretty severe but I hope it did. Looked like instant pull out of the soul for the sheer amount of pain, I could imagine the force for the two additional reverberated hit to the rocks.
I’m pretty sure it died, but probably not for a few hours. It seemed to get whacked on the backside and then it got spun around several times as it slammed on to the rocks. My guess is that it had a lot of internal bleeding in the area where the train struck it. Some additional bleeding in the areas where it first struck the rocks violently. If it didn’t die instantly, I’m pretty sure it wishes it did.

Whatever kind hearted loco pilots may be they're most of the time helpless. They can't stop the train. Only thing they can do is resort to non stop honking.
Its very disheartening to hit a dog with the train, I clocked one years ago with an up Noarlunga railcar, the dog ran through pedestrian maze at last minute. There's nothing you can do about it?
