Here's a tip: The Vudu Shrimp works great in freshwater too, I've caught many fish with it in Lake Erie and the Ashtabula River... Smallmouth bass and steelheads just love them...
Yep. They work on speckled trout in the surf in Alabama too. If it’s not rough and the water’s clear, just crawl one along the bottom in the first gut and wait for the big bump, because it’s coming.
I applaud your decision to keep that fish. I see many people on here holding fish out the water way too long, only to take a photo and then throw them back regardless of the state of those fish. Knowing a fish's chance of survival and making an educated decision based on that (and killing the fish you keep in a quick and humane fashion, rather than leaving them to suffocate for minutes) is what makes a good fisherman to me.
All of the Egret Baits lineup is stellar. Mambo Mullet is a favorite of mine. They are based out of my area, so it’s cool to see a local company doing well on a quality channel like yours!
You do a great job with the areas you fish. I live in the RDU area and would love to come and have a drink or coffee some time. Thanks for what you post and how you fish.
First Sand Bass I've ever seen. Eli, you've got such nice looking fish up that way. Red tide has torn us up down here. Been this way a couple of years now.
That really is incredible. I've caught a lot of sheepshead. I think from 23-24" and down they are amazing eating. I have never caught one on artificial and I've fished artificial in sheepy areas for a couple decades. Awesome.
@ Montana Tatum I haven't fished in that inlet in over 20 years, I'm not in NY anymore. If I visit old friends, I'll more than likely bring tackle. If I go, I might go out to Shinnecock or Montauk Point. I know that fluke is a colloquial term for summer flounder. I caught enough of them as a boy. If I remember correctly, at the time the size limit used to be 15 inches. I'm sure it's larger now. That tackle shop that I was in that wanted to prove their point by cracking open a book was talking about fluke. At the time I thought fluke ran the entire length of the eastern seaboard, but they took me to school on that as well. They were without a doubt talking about the same fish, just using summer flounder, which really is the correct name. The point that I was trying to make with milkshakesplenda was that other places will refer to it by a different name. The same as if you go to the state of Delaware and fish for striped bass, they call them rockfish. I wasn't trying to be right, I was just trying to point something out.
Thanks for this video. Just tried the Savage Gear Manic Shrimp in South Jersey...seven flounder caught. Craziest thing I ever saw...the biggest one jumped 3’ out of the water.
Hey Elias! What’s your opinion on the hobie outback and compass vs the old town top water or salty pdl? Or predator pdl. For fishing inshore flats, bridges, and maybe a cbbt trip every once in a while. And for surf launches.
Nice Catch !! Caught a nice size Grouper In Marco Island with an artificial underspin. Where are you in this video ? And are Sheep Head good eating ? Love me some Sea Trout
All the inshore fish seem to love that Vu-doo shrimp they also make a very good shad lure, only bad thing is when a pufferfish desides to chomp the tail off and you're down $4.00.
Until 5 days ago I’d never saltwater fished. Took a trip to the Everglades on fished the Joe River. Had a run in with one of those little bastards (checkered pufferfish) and it ruined a decent amount of my lures. Thing even bit clean through a snap swivel.
Love your videos! I do most of my fishing in Jamaica Bay & Debs Inlet,(your old stomping grounds) my question, where can I get that orange pair of pliers that you grab the fish with?
Discovered vudu shrimp about a month ago, sense then I’ve gone fishing 5 times. Most fish I’ve landed on artificial in my entire life. I have people coming up to me asking me what I’m using for bait lol. 10 flounder yesterday with 4 keepers.
Just did a Flounder vid using those vudu shrimps and they work awesome but ill definitely have to try some vertical jigging, never done it this way before with the Vudu. Cool vid and plan for the day 👍
I live and fish in the southeast region of Florida and I don't recall ever seeing a sheep that big! Not a lot of flounder here either. Would love to know what region you were fishing in this video. Keep em comin...
Quick question...with all those bridge donkeys your catching...did u keep the original drag washers the daiwa fuego came with..or did u upgrade to carbon fiber washers
Love that "thump". Usually for me the reds grab my artificials harder and just stay down, keeps me coming back. I am going to have to get some crabs and try for sheeps.
I recently bought some 2oz bottom sweeper jigs for sheeps and drum. I think you usually go a bit lighter, what’s the drawback to the heavier jigs? Harder to feel the bites?
@@EliasVFishing I went with the 2oz jigs because my dad and I don’t get too many days to fish at the coast (Atlantic beach). So we end up fishing the bridges and structure during strong currents and obviously the weight helps us position the bait where we want it
@@lucasliving276 I fish at atlantic I prefer Carolina Rigs with a 2 ounce weight or 1 1/2 depends what bridge Beaufort bridge is a bit deeper than ab bridge
wow, that's a monster sheepshead anywhere in any water. Love getting surprises like that. Well done Elias.
I promise, the fish see Elias’s kayak and literally sprint TOWARDS it 😂😂😂. You the GOAT man! Love the vid as always.
Fish have legs??
lol obviously you edit and cut to the catches

@Moses KongI i would recommend draging it on th sand cause the same happend to me i lost a pack at the pier.
@Moses KongI 👍
Elias, that sheepshead was a beast!!! Congratulations!!
From the area and it’s cool seeing him fish the same spots as I do. Nice to learn from someone in the area and not in south Florida

Thanks for brightening my work day! I can smell the saltwater from my desk.
Man that's a stud even on live bait! Crazy stuff, well done!
What a big , beautiful sheepshead. Congrats and well done.
Love the videos! Love them even more when I see you fishing next to my house! I've never had a sheepshead hit in that area. Going to give it a shot!
Always look forward to your videos and you never disappoint. Thank you.

Thanks Elias. Great tips as always.
You're always so, "been there, done that" so it was cool to see you get excited over that Sheepshead.
Sooo cool. What-a-sheepie!
Thx for the rig advice

Vudu shrimp under a popping cork is a deadly combo.Awesome sheepshead bro.

That was epic what a sheep!!!! On artificial you the man elias !!! Thanks for sharing

Thats so funny adding your "buddy" to the videos Elias. The infamous toadfish.

It is kinda sad his old “spirit animal” the blue fish has been replaced with the better tasting but still undesirable toad. RIP the blue fish
Nice assortment ... couple good specs. That Sheepshead was a MONSTER!
We use those shrimp to slay the trout at the swing bridge on Camp Lejeune. Purple ones my favorites! Nice Fat Goat!
Holy name drop!! 😄
Largest Sheepster I've ever seen caught! Nice video!!👍
Nice Pop! Cool to see, keep on rockin brother!!
That was a monster sheep. Nice catch brother. Tight lines!

Sheepys make awesome fish tacos! nice one man
If you feel like a road trip - weakfishing is hot in Peconic - even Skinner is catching them!
Out of curiosity, how are they doing in the Great South Bay?
That was an awesome sheepshead. Loved the video.

Great catch and awesome views. 🤙🏽
That voodoo shrimp works great. I keep 2 on me that size all the time. Everything hits it, even had grouper grab it off jetties.
Huge sheep! Love the channel!
Gnarly catch Elias!
nice sheep! well done as always
How come lighter leader works better? They see the higher lbs line? Sick Sheepshead!
Whoa, MASSIVE sheepshead! Those dorsal fins freaking me out man, worst I’ve ever been finned is by 1 of these… OUCH!
I liked that video. You seemed like you enjoyed yourself.
Love those light action fights!
That’s a monster 👍
2 questions: did you dose the voodoo shrimp with procure? Second question: is it one sheepshead, multiple sheephead, or multiple sheepsheads? !
I’ve caught sheepshead on artificial before… that same exact lure actually… but never that big!

I am guessing that is the Sneads Ferry bridge at the north end of Topsail Island...??
Monster sheepshead - nice multi species

Do you use procure of just straight vudu?
What an absolutely ridiculous sheep. Incredible.
Love the vudu shrimp. Everything eats the Vudu shrimp.
nice catch brother big catch🐟🎣fish on!
Dude that sheepshead is HUGE
Well done! Definitely relatively rare to catch one that big on artificial.

looks like so many bridges, but the 312 in st augustine comes to mind

Hard-core ... the scent had to help, and lighter leader sold the package.
How heavy is the Vudu shrimp you are using for jigging?

I wish we had that kind of diversity on the Texas coast. I feel like it's just reds, black drum, and trout down here
Go farther south.
Good information 👍 nice place nice video bro. . Amazing Strike 🎣😎🤙

You have to use heavier tackle, which may lose some sensitivity. And, the 2 oz has a hook that in my opinion is too large for fiddler crabs.
Fish will probably drop the jig vs swimming off with it and holding in its mouth. But it depends on environment + species + current.
