Thank you for including a Small size Celltei® Pak-o-Bird in your rating review. Just want to clarify a few points you mentioned in this review:
    1) The 1" wide webbing handle on top toward the back has a specific usage and is not for holding the bag. strap. It is designed to be used to "grab" the bag with the opposite hand when the bag is being unloaded from your back by having the backpack straps taken off one shoulder at one time. This grab handle is more commonly seen in outdoor backpack designs if that rings the bell. You will find this handle very useful in preventing the bag from swinging and tipping in the motion. For holding the bag evenly, please use the 1.5" wide adjustable strap buckled to the top left and right sides of the Pak-o-Bird. This strap serves as both a balanced handle or a shoulder strap.
    2) Color matters to many birds; they can see and identify the differences in a way we can only imagine. When we designed the very first bird carrier in around 2003, we researched and settled with one natural Green color and a bright gold color for reasons. They become the stock colors we are still using nearly 20 years later. Over the years, the green color is favored by bird families at 3 to 1 to the gold color. The yellow color with a longer wavelength projects further. This bright color is not only a happy color, it can be easily spotted by the family as the type of trips demands.
    3) Monogram is always optional. It is made as a badge that can be replaced and re-stitiched on. All Celltei products are made in USA. Olivia is a green cheek conure and therefore Victoria picked the special green color when she ordered the bag in August 2020.
We wish you the best with your new product. We surely hope more birds can enjoy life with fresh air and sunlight outside of the house!

Not to knock your backpack because you did improve on the design if you lift it up by the handle, but I've had the pakobird by celltei on the left (in medium green, without the name on it---since it comes in different colors and options) for years without any problems. I've never lifted it up by the handle or over filled the water and food to the point where it fell out when I picked it up. It's such good quality I have no complaints about it. Is yours an improvement now? Oh yeah! Especially with the added pockets. But I can't justify buying another one if I already have this one, which was very expensive ($295--yours is more affordable which is another plus). We sneak our eclectus into hotels, stores and restaurants with it haha. No pet fee for us! For anyone getting a second bird or needing a travel carrier they don't already have (or to replace literally any carrier bought on Amazon), this is the one to get and it's worth the cost.

I got my Celltei bag in March of 2022 and it definitely tips over and spills all of the water out if you try to pick it up by the handle on top. I find that super useless. I also hate that it has no pockets for snacks and such. So I would definitely like to check out Jamie and Dave’s backpack. But would need to know if BirdTricks backpack is as hard to chew through as the Celltei bag has been made to be, because my parrotlet’s favorite activity is destroying things. I opted for the super reinforced Celltei bag at additional cost, and I would not be able to transport my bird in a bag that doesn’t offer that option. Yes, I know they addressed adding chew toys, but my bird will push the toy aside and eat fabric instead 😅

    • @BirdTricks

@@peepsicle Yep, we incorporate the stainless steel mesh as well and IF your bird is able to destroy it (which should only be the sides but we try our best to overlap parts to hide the more vulnerable areas of the panels) only the panels need to be replaced and not the entire pack. We have not personally had our birds be able to destroy the inside yet but we also don't keep them in for extremely extended amounts of time either. We really use this to transport to and from, and if they're in it a long time it's likely as a temporary sleeper cage. But let us know because we are always happy to make changes and advancements to the design in between runs!

What I prefer having in a birdie backpack is having big enough panels for sunlight to fully come in but with curtains to block out the sunlight if the uv index is high that day. This doesn’t quite have as big panel as competitors. However, I love how this backpack is cheaper than the other popular brands so it fits my budget more. I’ll still have to save up for it though because I have annuals coming up. I’m definitely buying your backpack though.

I gotta say, I was reticent about spending this amount on this backpack, and had to think about it for a while before buying it, but after unpacking it last night and putting it together this morning, I'm pretty certain there's nothing like it on the market. The other type that's black/white/green with the flowers is something you can probably get by with if this one isn't in your budget, and a crafty person might be able to carefully design their own backpack like this (honestly, I suspect you'll end up spending as much to craft one as you would to buy this one, unless you're very handy).
These are my first birdie babies in twenty years and I wanted to make sure I wasn't leaving anything to chance. Jamie and Dave thought about just about everything. As long as my keets are comfortable with it, I'll be treating this like a second cage.

I got the Celltei backpack in Xtra small (and in dark green, and no monogram, because it was the least conspicuous) for my parrotlet, and the thing I love about it is that I could choose the option of having it custom made specifically for my bird, who is a heavy chewer/destroyer of fabric, and who is missing toes on one of his feet so needed a soft rope perch in order to be not fall while I’m walking. It’s also airline compliant. I would love to know if all of these options are available in the backpack that you designed, because I do find the handle on the top of the Celltei bag to be extremely annoying and useless, as you demonstrated. I love the color of your bag so much, as well as all of the pockets, which I was annoyed that the Celltei backpack didn’t have - Hello! I need to carry snacks and water for my bird if I’m transporting him.
Also, does your bag have the option for putting a licksit (lixit?) type bottle of water on the outside where the tip pokes in? Because the Celltei bag does, but I had to gluegun velcro to the side in order for it not to stick to the backpack and not constantly fall backwards, which is also super annoying especially since I paid more for this backpack than for any purse or piece of luggage I’ve ever owned.
I love this idea that you created the perfect backpack and I will definitely buy one. I, like you guys, have tried every possible bag including the INSANE bubble backpack, which is great if you want to cook your bird and have it go into a panic.
Please let me know if I can add a rope perch instead of a hard perch, and if there’s a hole for a lixit bottle, and you can have all of my money 💰

I have the green one its the Sweet Feet and Beak. The issues I have with it are : 1 the perch is a dowel and needs to be wrapped in vet wrap or the bird can slip in the car. 2 at least on mine the two anchors for the perch aren't even so the perch is angled a little bit. 3. The perch falls off at a moment's notice with any flex of the outside. 4 it's hard for the vets and techs to get your bird in and out unless they will step up in that situation. We've had broken tail feathers. 5 if all this is going OK my bird still thinks of this carrier as a nesting box ! 🤦‍♀️ Now I've upgraded to the bubble backpack WITH THE FAN! You really need the accessory fan if traveling in warm weather. Now granted I don't take my bird hiking. We go from the house to the car and to the vet with as much climate control as possible Sometimes I bring them to work too 😉 . I have found the perches to be quite stable. I just wrap the bottom pannel in a paper towel and I don't even use the metal tray. I think a lot of it depends on what you do with your bird - what carrier is right for you.

I followed the link for the nametag and purchased one but I would really like to get a second wooden hemp rope perch and second cup because I want to take my bonded pair of tiels together but when they get to the bottom of the carrier the perch is too high up for them to get back up to and if I put it lower their tails don't have room. Otherwise I really like it and can't wait to use it more after winter is over!

So with this backpack I don't worry at all about her getting out, as long as you've got it all zipped up before going out, you're golden!

3:16 are people *that sensitive* about colors of a bird backpack? most fellas are toxic if you have anything other than a dog as a pet, so i don't think one needs to be hung-up about being visible.

I honestly don’t really like this very much as a carrier for my birds because it’s soft sided. I don’t feel like it’s going to protect my birds in the case of a car crash. Which is something I’m looking for in a carrier, especially if I’m spending 200+ dollars on it. I think you guys can do better. This is great if you’re going on hikes or walks with your bird, but I wouldn’t use it in the car.
