I'm *this close* to ordering my M4 iMac. Can't decide on which color, so I'll probably hike over to the Apple store to see them in person. I think I'm finally at peace with the smaller display, coming from my 2019 Intel 27" machine. Given that waiting for a 27" iMac appears to be futile, I'm eager to get a machine that opens apps far more quickly, hopefully boots up far more quickly, and does everything else more quickly than my current machine. I'll probably get 512 gb hard drive, but stick with the 16 gigs of ram. At 74, this may be the last Mac I ever buy and I've had 'em since they first came out.
At 77 I'm getting the silver M4 iMac to match my hair. I have been using Apple products since 1987, first Mac was a Apple IIC, several desk top Apple computers, Mac color classic (my favorite). Currently I have a late 2015 iMac it has been working fine all these years just thought it time I upgraded, like you this will probably be my last Mac. Will continue to get the latest and greatest phones, iPads, watches and AirPods until they put me in the oven
Sorry, I am boring. I would order silver. Reason might be because my late father worked for ALCOA in Vancouver, WA (the first Vancouver, and not that B.C. place) before, and after his service to the nation in the South Pacific during WWII. Always been around the the virgin color of aluminum. I have owned a number of Apple iMac's over the years starting with the first Intel iMac running OS X/UNIX. Today I run a Apple MacBook Air M1 chip with 8‑core CPU, 7‑core GPU, 16‑core Neural Engine, 16GB unified memory, 2TB SSD storage - $1,999.00 US 3/2020. Still cheaper than my original 1984 Apple McIntosh $2,500.00 US. Reason I went away from the all in one is that with my 27-inch 5K LG monitor on black VESA desk mount arm with a MacBook I have two screens. Also I can take my M1 Apple MacBook Air with me to Starbucks or when I travel with my son's family.
@@gabezillah getting a monitor that high resolution and with that good of a ppi will usually cost more than just buying the mac. Also, comes with a nice keyboard and questionable mouse. This device is good for new computer users or those upgrading their old mac all in ones:)
The colors on the front are and accessories are so disappointing. The good color on the back would only face my wall, but I would still have considered it if there was a m4 pro version.
“I wanted to get more in touch with what the average budget constrained person would get”
lol.

You should wait a little longer, there is a 32 inch on the horizon according to rumers.

Maybe I'm old but why not get a mac mini and a good monitor?
I’m young, I agree with you, way better deal

@@octocubbl3z308 I had M1 iMac and agree with your view.
I love my Yellow M3.
those poor 2 usb slots at the back

Apple designers have said that the darker, vibrant color on the front bezel would be too distracting. The muted color still pops, in person.
