Would you go to Tony's on a first date?
No, I'd probably choose the Plaza
Haha that's a joke right
Last date.
To, y'know, end things.
My first date with my husband was Steak n Shake, but I don't know if Tony's would be a step up.
Yeah , with your mom!! Just kidding I'm sure your mom is a lovely Woman that wouldn't be seen in an establishment of such low caliber.
Tom is clearly weeping on the inside having to say positive things about Tony’s now. You can see the struggle and pain in his eyes. Stay strong, Tom. ✊
The looks you get on your face are priceless! Thank-you for your honesty, and all the work you do to help us make the best decisions:)
Food nerd here…I would guess that the two desserts were not the right creamy consistency because too much gelatin was used (for mass production purposes) instead of cream. It’s happened on Top Chef a number of times 😆
I’m cracking up at the haphazard arugula thrown around everywhere. I feel like I wouldn’t be surprised if there would have been some on the dessert plates 🤣
Tom's face when he tastes everything 😬... priceless 😹😹😹
The biggest crime is not that Tony’s had some “decent” entrees, but that Tom did not sign off of this review with “TO TASTE!!!!”
"I've had worse here." Tom's ringing endorsement of TTS new menu items. Hilarious...
Great video however one suggestion, use lavalier mic so we can hear you more clearly to reduce the background noise blocking you out.
I remember eating here. I don’t remember the food because that was not memorable. I remember because my boyfriend and his parents brought me to Tonys for a meal.(now my husband and in-laws) I was surprised because I didn’t even know a Restaurant was in the Main Street square. In all honesty. I make it a point not to eat at Magic Kingdom at all! I got food poisoning from a salad that had no dressing, and no meat on it and it wasn’t just me affected by the salad. My father-in-law was ill from his salad. So in all honesty I usually go to the contemporary to grab something to eat, or different resort, or park hop! Thank you Tom for honesty and bravery!
Tony's continues to be one of my family's favorite Disney restaurants
This video is a tour de force of ups and downs, it's a wild ride. My emotional state is all over the place. The highs of the pasta. The lows of the vegetables. The clove of garlic bread. The steak getting a "yeah." The shrimp and butter. NINE SHRIMP.
"Someone get out the Shrimp Calculator." better be merch someday.
Bit of a smart ass review. OK -it may not be Victoria and Alberts but they have at least made an effort to improve.
I feel like that’s what we said
Thank you for looking into Tony's new offerings. Glad to hear there are some positive changes. I for one stay away from sausage and that first dish (Penne With Chicken Al Forno) seemed quite good. We never get garlic bread but I bet some family would enjoy that tower LOL) Thanks for your honest opinions and though went in with bad vibes, glad you were pleasantly surprised. Even top restaurants have bad nights to be honest.....
I have to be honest. I haven't set foot in Tony's in over 30 years. I do remember enjoying my meal, even if I don't remember what I had ordered. And I also remember waiting donkey years to receive the check.
We ate at Tony’s last year. Our expectations were low but we didn’t hate it. It wasn’t bad at all and we’d go back. Not rushing back but I would absolutely go back.
When my daughter was young she had the pasta with alfredo sauce. It had pieces of plastic in it. I was shocked by the waiter's response. He didn't really seem to care and said he could bring her another one. She was afraid to eat anything else. The worst dining experience i'd never go back I even had a hard time getting her meal charge credited back to the DDP. My worst Disney memory!
Ah yes, the great compliment of "I've had worse". LOL The server's voice in the background reminds me a Janice from friends. LOL I guess it fits the restaurant.
The food review of all food reviews… this is going to be interesting I’m sure.
Thank you so much for the review
I’ve heard horror stories from this place, but it didn’t look too bad. I could see my kids liking it
the internet is broken clearly....Tom had some positive things about Tonys!!?? mind blown !
In all my trips to Disney I have still never walked in the door of that place here’s to hoping that when I do it’s still decent as always thanks for taking one for the team.
If you were there, I hope they were on their A game, lol. Thanks for doing this Tom!
Wow, the look on Tom's face in your thumbnail.
It's like he was coerced into going back to Tony's. Which, coincidentally, is the only way I'd set foot in the place.
"Tony's is back to form!"
Me: Huh?
"The sausage...is bad."
Me: Oh.
The pistachio and the custard were very "off pudding!" Lol
My chicken wings were raw last time I was there. The staff was so nice and understanding though. They gave us a full refund even though we ate two of the other dishes.
“Butcher of Intestines” I’m dying!!!
Bread Jenja. 🍞
For 36 dollars that steak better be good. Thanks for sharing the review.
Don't think you should be able to tear burrata cheese...
“I’ve had worse here”. The best!!
Question on lines in WDW - do the ride queues seem shorter now that character greetings are open and folks are more spread to those types of attractions?
After watching the review I went on Spaceship Earth and the paper boy was already yelling: EXTRA EXTRA READ ALL ABOUT IT. TOM SAYS 3 OF 4 NEW ENTREES AT TONYS ARE GOOD…. ENOUGH. Personally I’m going not to eat but to play garlic bread Jenga with my family.
If only he were still facing riders, you could maybe see his expression of complete dismay..
Restaurant review playlist please
"Someone get out the shrimp calculator" $3.33/shrimp.
Well, the orecchieto with sausage is off my list for May!
The green "stuff" in that desert looks like play doh. 👀👁️
Who would want that heavy Italian food in hot, sweaty Florida. Crazy!
i wish you guys had a better mic/used a mic since the background noise is really distracting. besides that, good review
i love the 10 mins or less comment.... nothing is worse then getting your main dish with appetizer on your table
I started getting Eric's song Date Night at Tony's playing in my head watching this review....
Mr Morrow loved it. I would never go back.
Do they just have bad days? On end, over and over?
I don't know how, but I never knew this restaurant existed in WDW. I guess that's a good thing. lol!
Such a great video! I would like to see more food reviews from this channel. Keep up the great work!
Being a loyal Disney consumer is like being in a committed relationship.
At some point you realize you’re Johnny Depp & Amber Heard is Disney…and it’s time to break up and go your separate ways after Disney takes a dump 💩 in your bed and you’ve had enough abuse in the pocketbook.
Tony should of invited and bought everyone at wdw news today staff a meal there including deserts, would be a Sweetful magical treat of graditude !!!
next time if you can use a lapel mic or something it was so loud in there
pistachio playdoh 🤣
Pistachio hockey puck lol
Should have put an edit in there from Steve Martins dentist from Little shop of horrors. When Tom bites in to the garlic bread cut to Steve Martin “NOW SPIT”
This seems much better for me. I am not likely to eat indoors in the current covid situation. It may be the only sit down in the MK outdoors.
$27 bucks for a simple pasta dish with sausage!? I know it’s Disney but that is insane for a dish with ingredients that probably cost less than $4 bucks to make.
Also that restaurant needs some plants or dividers to help absorb some of the noise level. Feels like I’m at a convention center.
Why do people shout in restaurants? It sounds like you're at a horse race.
The steak at Skipper Canteen is really good for the price point.
What did that Toy Box Tomato Salad taste like? I would like to try that, and some of the other food you sampled, if I ever get a chance to dine at Tony's Town Square Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
The spumoni came with a "fake" vomit disc?
Tony's is a weird on for me. It's my cousin's go-to, as it was the first place she and her husband ate at Disney the first time they went. She's always tasted it with nostalgia. The first place I ever ate was Alfredo di Roma's (*weeps for the loss*) and there was NO comparison between the two.
for $11, id just order the garlic bread for the table and call it a lunch...
10 shrimp for $30.00 that’s awful.
I’ve been there twice and it’s consistently poor. This just proves it. It’s too bad because it’s a beautifully themed restaurant and in a prime location. I was hoping with the change you were going to be blown away. Darn!!!
Tom’s Tony Square Restaurant Review in a nutshell:
“I’ve had worse here; beware the garlic and the dense desserts and now 75% of the entrees are no longer terrible but passable but also not amazing” 😂
I miss the bread they used to have
It’s still here
Something tells me this guy is NEVER satisfied with anything he eats.
Lol
Something tells me you’ve never been to Tony’s
@@WDWNT: I have, but we're talking almost 20 years ago; from what I remember the food was fantastic, from appetizers to dessert. If you don't like a place why go back even if the menu has changed? Seems like you're complaining abut the place JUST to complain.
Amen to that… I don’t see why he returns to Disney with all his negativity
You need a mike, it was so hard to even hear most of what you said. Also, why not have everyone try the food and give a review. 😊
Everyone else is working on photographs and the website review
@8:58 "That's what she said"
This is so sad when you keep saying I've had worse😏😥 Thanks for sharing 👎🏻😔
My only quibble with your review is that Orecchiette pasta by it’s shape is suppose to be a bit on the chewy (or “toothsome”) side, so it seems like at least that was cooked as it should be. Obviously not having eaten these I can’t say if your flavor descriptions are right or wrong. I like heavy garlic so that great may be great for me. Still I don’t think Tony’s would be on our list to eat during our visit. Last time I ate there was I think in 2005 and it was pretty bad back then.
I grew up in the Italian section of The Bronx, it wasn’t cooked right lol
@@WDWNT Fair enough! Although Giada De Laurentiis may disagree (LOL)
I’ve tried the place twice. The pasta tasted precooked then boiled again….pasty on the outside and raw on the inside…yuk.
There’s either no flavor, too much, and generally just not good. Too bad because it’s a lovely themed restaurant and in a prime location.
@@joycehardy9422 that sounds how I remember it from years ago. They don’t bother to salt the pasta water! But like you said I am sure they get it in ore-cooked. And the sauce was watery as well
I don't wanna ask how many calories the appetizers and entree amounted to! Probably wouldn't even sweat out the calories running from park to park!
I feel like Disney goes way too rare when I order “medium rare”. I don’t like purple blood red middles. To me that is RARE. I expect medium rare to be pink in the middle, not COLD. And I do like my pasta al dente not mushy. Dining is all about personal preference
Why does so much of the food seem so hard? Even the desserts...
I always enjoy Tom's critiques . Thank you 😊👍
Its amazing for how big Disney is, how many people pass through there, and how expensive it is, just how bad at food they are. Captive audience, I guess. BTW, its "orricketti", and its supposed to be kind of chewy.
We went on the pronunciation of the staff despite knowing better, there’s also a difference between the intended chewiness and what we tasted lol
Your pronunciation of orecchiette and biscotti is dissapointing lol.
Tom got the short straw, eh?
Tom, I wonder if you have hyper-mobility? I noticed when you are eating that you might be! Your fingers/wrists looked very “bendy” and it made me curious. No need to actually respond, I have this condition and it isn’t often I see someone who might have it too. I have eaten many, many times at Tony’s mainly because my the had a steak my husband liked. You are right, it is not the best, but it is nice to rest…lol
Rely more on the impressions of your face to assess the quality of the food than the audio of the video, which was not that good 😔😂
Have you cleared the food poisoning window yet?
This place is my #1 worst restaurant in all of WDW... Frontera Cocina, San Angel Inn, T-Rex, are the runners up.
Review would be better and more honest if you don't go into it trying to hate it.
I’ve never been told that I need to be “more honest”
Overall By Most Of Your Expressions... It's Still A Place To Avoid!😊
Buy a mic
We have them
What is Kayla’s FB name?
Had a Great meal recently and had an amazing view , service not so much.
Sounds awful! The looks and way you’re laughing I can tell it’s just not good lol! Even $30 for butter, shrimp, and a huge crouton seems unpleasant 😂
did he say pickled bunions?! eww no wonder its horrible, oh and a rat turn oh i mean caper
You don’t eat cannoli with a spoon. It’s just wrong.
If you’re sharing it with people, you do
Sounds very noisy
May I ask why Tom has an empty phone case in his breast pocket?
Because his phone is mounted to a gimbal filming this segment.
@@WDWNT thank you for answering great reviews from Tony’s thanks.
This was not good service! They brought the entrees after Tom had one bite of the appetizer…talk about being rushed.
Tom
Looks like Gordon food/Tyson tv dinner. The steak looks like it was boiled in water. Thx but I'll pass
This was set up to be a disaster, I’m sorry but this was in no way a imparcial review.
It looks like his opinion was made before every dish, everything was bad in his opinion or have “somenthing” wrong… sorry but that was not imparcial at all… looks like it was funny to complain about everything
Stop defending mediocre food.
@@Clay3613 i really don’t need to. I’ve been there a couple of times, it’s not that bad. But the video has a big biased
It’s as if this was the 15th review of Tony’s I’ve done in my career
YOU JUDGE TOO HARSHLY. I have eaten all over the world; Paris, Rome, London. The food at Tony's is fine for what it is. You went in with the presumption that Tony's food is of poor quality. It isn't. I ate in a small cafe in Marseille where the food was horrible compared to Tony's. And in answer to your question; it depends on the person. I would make it clear that Tony's has typical Italian food like Olive Garden, and is fine for an amusement park.
Reviews are opinions
Olive Garden isn't typical Italian food, it's a mass-produced version of Italian-American food.
