I love how relaxed you are while doing this. The vellum on the chair is a brilliant idea, I'm not ready to set my 2025 reading journal up yet I'm just letting ideas percolate in my brain first, this will be my 5th reading journal year but I like to switch it up every year.
I absolutely love seeing your process! You always came home from school with amazing artwork but I never got to see how you created it, love your creativity! 😘
This is getting me so excited to start my next journal. Well done, it looks great. I absolutely love the "year published" spread, haven't seen that one before.
So pretty! 😅 I only buy books after I’ve read them and love them to know they will be on my reread list. There are several books that I must reread yearly especially during book hangovers.
@ I’m so conflicted between starting a reading journal again haha. I’m a teacher too and wondering if I’ll have time to keep up with it. Used to have them while I was in uni and then stopped when I started working full time. Just have my bullet journal and teacher planner
I LOVE that plaid pattern you did for the classics/DNF spread. I also have those vellum stickers from Amazon. The colors are so soft and calming. I originally bought them for some of my Bible journaling, but have used them in a couple other various journals as well. 🥰 Oh... and PS... I love that deer sticker as well but, like you, can never find the right spot! lol
i like the vellum stickers, if you can find them. I do like the vellum chair. i have seen people use washi in a similar way. your spreads are very creative!
I’ve used washi like this in my coloring books, but I love that the vellum paper can cover larger areas and has a larger print. I’ll find the vellum stickers and link them in the description box. 😊🪼
It was either Michaels or Hobby Lobby, but I think it was Hobby Lobby. It came in a 4-pack with whitewashed wood, dark wood, this wood, and I think a greyish wood. I use them all the time! 🪼
i'm really new to journalling :D and something has got me insanely curious - i see a few people use the craft knife to cut out areas like you did with the chair or to trim stickers to fit behind spread boxes etc....but how do you make sure you're not cutting the paper of the journal as well? Is it a light touch you have to practice? Is it a specific craft knife blade? I picture myself doing that and just slicing through the journal page as well! 🤣
It definitely takes a light touch! But also, good quality paper helps too. The paper in this journal is thicker, and the vellum and washi cut so easily that a light drag with an Xacto knife is all it takes! But, if I do cut too deep, I try to cover the other side of the page with a sticker, paper, or washi to hide the cut! 😂🪼
@ ah! So that’s it. I was honestly starting to wonder if it was some magical knife 🤣🤣 I’ve got a journal coming (online ordered) and it’s 160gsm paper which I believe is excellent quality? And a craft knife…which is ..uh, a bit lower quality 🤣 Great tip about covering the other side f page if I slice through lol! Thanks!
Hii I love it.. I enjoyed very much how it turned out. But maybe next time watch out the white balance when edit because sometime you can't see well 🥰🥰
I’ll check that out - I never did anything with filters or lighting edits, and it always plays back fine on my computer. But you’re the second one to tell me that, so I need to figure out what’s going on! 🪼
@@thejellyfishjournals I think maybe look in your camera when recording it.. because of the white of the paper it's going to put a lot of white balance there.
The chair idea is just lovely and so creative!
Thank you, it was fun! 🪼
Ummm using the paper to decorate the chair 😮❤
Thank you! I’m totally doing it again sometime, I’m in love with it! 🩵🪼
The way you did that chair is fantastic! ❤️🇨🇦
Thank you! I'm really happy with it! 🪼

Haha, I don’t feel relaxed, so I’m glad it seems that way! I can’t wait to say I’ve been doing this for 5 years too. And your kitty is adorable! 🪼

Oh my gosh, this is how I felt watching everyone's reading journal videos too! Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you liked it! 🪼
Wow the plaid is so pretty!!
Thank you so much! 🪼

I've only done that a couple of times, but it's very logical! And book hangovers! 🤣🪼
Beautiful and so creative!

Haha, YES! What’s up with that deer? I need to dedicate a spread in my other journal to it! 😂😂
Appreciate your organic process of decorating your journal! Cute Velum suggestion on the chair 🙂

@@florisrosie3634I’m looking into it for sure - I always rewatch my videos before I publish them, and I haven’t noticed this. But thank you! 😊
@@thejellyfishjournals You're welcome. Keep doing them I love your two videos so far
I teach 7th and 8th grade my husband teaches PE I don't know if you know there are special tweezers to use on the PET tape
I really should get better tweezers! 😂🪼 I hope the school year is going well for you both!
Where do you get the print out of the books on shelf?
I drew it! I'm working on learning how to create free printables, though, stay posted! 🪼
