    I am impressed by your effort and enthusiasm. I am a pretty prolific reader, I think - I average around 110 books a year. And I could never in a million years plan what I'm going to read tomorrow, much less next year. Maybe I'm just allergic to "rules". I do keep track of what I have read, with brief "book reports". And I have a book where I keep notable quotes, but that's as far as I can get. Happy reading!

    I keep a Book Journal, but the pgs., categories are all printed out. I decided I want to make my own, which is why I tuned in. Beautiful! Little confused though. Like 25 bks. for 2025, then 100 bks.? Other too. Will rewatch. I used to make greeting cards and junk journals and am familiar w/ Shabby Chic and many other companies for papercrafting.. I'm not Christian so the Bible tracker wouldn't necessarily be useful to me but I absolutely love the idea! It is so cool to have the bookshelf and all those stickers already printed with the corresponding book, it feels a bit like those sticker albums you get where you look for where to put the new one you got, except of course you do it when you'vve read the corresponding Book and you don't have to worry about trading doubles!
    The monthly genre is also a great idea. I've had groups where it was such a struggle to all find the same book but with a genre instead there is a lot more leeway, plus then you can discuss the different books together! I think I'll try that as well.

    Love your setup. I am confused about what I keep seeing in several reading journal videos. You mentioned you requested a lot of ARC books but may not get to them this year and that was ok??. I have been reviewing ARCs for several years and all the ones I get even the few from Netgalley have a due date which is generally release day. I have seen at least 5 other people say they are behind on their ARCs. I just don’t understand that as they are Advanced Reader Copies and intended to be read and reviewed by release date. I know if I kept requesting them but didn’t get around to reading them the author would remove me from their ARC team. Most authors only get so many ARC copies so it is important that those who request them actually follow through. So what am I missing that so many are not finishing their requested ARCs for the year?

    • @paperbacksandponytails
      @paperbacksandponytails  Месяц назад

      @@ssfoster95 I think netgalley can be a black hole to some people. I try to get to review books that I have physical copies of or were sent to me by the authors themselves first, so netgalley books tend to pile up, unfortunately. Especially if they are "Read Now" options. I'm making it more of a goal to read more of my netgalley books next year.

      Watch plenty of videos and find what's right for you. I don't personally enjoy writing reviews out so you won't see that in my journal, a lot of others do. Do you like to scrap book or paint, go in that direction. The point is to have fun and your journal can grow with you every year when you find out what works and what doesn't.
