If you haven’t already, my recommendation would be to pick up a vintage typewriter, the texture feel old typewriters leave on paper is so satisfying. You can type out a quote or something, pressing hard on the keys, rip around it, add it to your scrapbook. And then spend the rest of the evening just stroking the paper 😅

Carlo, Love, Love, Love your inspiring Videos. You use some derwent pencils, have you used Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils? The main reason I love them so is that once they're dry, they're permanent. But as long as they're wet, you can blend and add and layer. Love them. Also, Tim Holtz Water Color Pencils are awesome and affordable for journaling or anything. And, for regular water colors, when dry use a little Tim Holtz or Judy Kins or other Watercolor Glaze. Its seals, and beads wetness from ruining any pages. And on photo paper, the glaze after distress oxide makes the color come alive as well as sealing. I used Palamino Blackwing 33 1/3 and Faber Castel 6B too...new experience. Thank you for your tip❤
Caro Carlo, you and your videos are such a joy, and you’ve given me so many good ideas. Do you do any journaling about the books you read? Thank you so much Julie!!! Happy you liked the video (and Jem & The Holograms! 🤩) For my pictures (you mean the small photos on the summer journal?) I just create photocollages on my phone and print them at the photographer's shop as normal photos (I show the process on previous videos) 🙂 For all my printing in general I just use a normal Epson house printer 😊
I do not journal, nor do I have an artist bone in my body. Once upon a time I was busy taking care of my husband's sister who had several health issues. She had quite a list of specialists, and appointments, and medications to keep track of. She also spent a great deal of time in and out of the hospital and rehabs, so I became the one who drove her to her appointments and who conversed with her doctors (she also had been diagnosed with dementia which was the reason she required assistance). My husband also under went quintuple bypass surgery in June, 2017, followed by his first stroke in December of the same year. Needless to say, I was busy and needed to keep a color coded calendar with notes for both of them over a six year period. My sister-in-law passed away in 2023, and I had a brief respite, then my husband took a turn for the worse and passed away three and a half months ago. Now I only have to keep track of my twice a year primarily care doctor appointments, and the quarterly Senior Adult Mental Health Counselor, as well as the need to pick up a monthly prescription from my local pharmacy. Birthdays are on the calendar in my phone, so any need I used to have to keep notes separate between my sister-in-law and husband in gone. I use my supplies for my Bible study notes though. Again, I am not artistic or creative so I use my colored pens, highlighters, markers, and wshi tape in the notebooks where I keep sermon notes. It was fun finding out about some of the pens and highlighters you use. I normally don't watch videos about journals, but I'm glad I watched yours. You're a talented young man.
Thank you so much, Carmen, I really appreciate it 🙂💙 Wow, you went through some really tough times, I want to send you a big big hug from here 💙 There's never enough empathy and kindness in the world, but I don't lose hope and I try and live giving my empathy and kindness to people, near and far. (And of course, also tips about journaling, to brighten up every day 😊💙) Good luck with everything, Carmen, and please keep in touch!

I love this guy’s passion and enthusiasm, these are the kind of people I need to surround myself with
If you haven’t already, my recommendation would be to pick up a vintage typewriter, the texture feel old typewriters leave on paper is so satisfying. You can type out a quote or something, pressing hard on the keys, rip around it, add it to your scrapbook.
And then spend the rest of the evening just stroking the paper 😅
😃 I used to love using my mum's old typewriter when I was a kid! I perfectly remember the debossed/embossed texture of the typed words on paper 😍 And I used to get my hands stained with ink trying to change the fabric tape inside it! Aww, what a memory you've just unlocked! Thank you 🙂
