Hi Zealand, great content! Just wondered if you have or if you could provide a list of all the above suggested teams to manage, I've watched the video but it is annoying to keep going back to write them down haha
Watching this video made me think of a way you can technically win the Champions League with a team that's not only not European, it's not even playing in a European league. In fact, it's on the other side of the world. Hear me out: The french island of Reunion in the south Indian ocean has its own local league because of course the travel would be insane otherwise.......BUT. They play in the French cup. So technically one of those teams could win the French cup and qualify for the Europa League, then win that and qualify for the CL.
Also for Switzerland FC Vaduz is a sick save to do. Basically Vaduz is actually in Liechtenstein so it counts as a guest team meaning they can't qualify for Europe through the league. So your only way of getting to Europe is by winning the Liechtenstein cup but that only sends you to the conference league so you would need to win the conference league then Europe league consecutively to even reach the UCL. I'd love to see someone pull it off and win the UCL.
I tried that one before, I think in FM12, I think I gave up 15 seasons in. One unlucky moment cost you at least 2 seasons (now even 3 seasons), after a while that became demotivating. Maybe now it's more fun because of dynamic league rating which didn't exist back then.
@@ThaGamingMisfit no, Even if the swiss league became the best in europe Vaduz is still barred from qualifying through the league. It'll probably be even more of a pain now since you literally have to win all 3 competitions in a row.

Great vid: for the railway journeyman it's worth noting that Manchester United was started by railway workers and so could be like the epoch of that save.
About the Finnish inclusion: Rops played in the top flight 2013-2020 with even 2 runners-up finishes in 2015 and 2018. Before getting relegated, the club had struggled financially for a while and the pandemic obviously did not help. This year they almost got promoted back to top flight, losing in the relegation playoff to top-flight team AC Oulu. Unfortunately due to the financial struggles they recently announced that they will concede their place 2. Tier and continue as a 3. Tier club, going to be playing mostly young local players.
*Fun Fact:* The Scottish save you mention would actually be somewhat of a recreation of the '67 Celtic team that won the Champions League _(Cup)_ with every player coming from within 10 miles of their home Stadium.
Red Star FC in France is an interesting save, you start in National (3rd division). It is also a parisian club and one of the oldest clubs in France. It was created by Jules Rimet who also became FIFA president and also created FIFA World Cup. Red Star was a founding member club of Ligue 1. The Stade Bauer is definitely a stadium to visit in Paris suburb with great fans and a family atmosphere. A true people's club.
Did this exact save in FM 21 and it was incredible. Finally toppling the giant was so great, especially with a club that is so local and for-the-people as RSFC is. Take back Paris!
As a Górnik supporter, I love the Poland recommendation! Fun Fact: Lukas Podolski who joined Górnik Zabrze this summer became the first World Cup winner to play in the Polish League :)
In Russia there is also a team called Chertanovo in Moscow. It is a team with one of the best academies in Russia, and in game there is a policy that you cannot sign any players, so you can play only with academy products. Team is rn in 3rd tier.
Just wanted to say thank you for everything zealand. I startet playing the ea football manager arround 12-13 years ago and accidently stumbled upon this fm. None of my friends wanted to play it but i found this youtube channel and an amazing community with it. thanks for all the streams and videos and generaly making my day better every time you decide to come online/upload something. Wish you all the best. Greetings from a Greek boy in Germany! :)
Love FM Llama getting included in this, his videos are great and he's definitely given me a lot of save ideas. I'd love to see more collabs with you two
I'm from Madeira Island, if you want to do the Island save pick Nacional, they have always been the underdogs, a few years ago in 2010 if I'm not mistaken they had an amazing season even getting into Europa League, they once went to Estadio do Dragao to defeat Porto 4-0 but with finances and poor management in the last 5 year they became a yo-yo team, to good for the second division but absolutely terrible when they get to the first division. Also I think that they have decent youth facilities in the game, so maybe you can find and develop the next Portuguese superstar. Edit: I almost forgot about Uniao da Madeira, they had an historic run 5 years ago actually making into the top flight but they went bankrupt, the team stopped existing and now they have been "rescued" and they are in the last playable division in Portugal
I am doing a save with Camacha based on your beautiful Island. I picked them out of all the teams on Madeira after I discovered Camacha was the site of the first football game in Portugal.
More on the railway worker save - Z missed the biggest club founded by railway workers, Manchester United! Originally founded as the Newton Heath Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company.
The Häcken save is actually fairly easy for Sweden they are one of the richest clubs in the league despite having only 6k seater stadium, have a great squad (they fell away this season due to injuries and such) and have one of the best youth academies in the country. Now winning the league with Brommapojkarna and it’s famous youth academy THATS a challenge especially if you add only academy players to the requirements
Basically every team in Allsvenskan is really easy to turn into a dominant club. All the managers in the league make useless signings and you have like no competition after 1-2 seasons if you sign the right people. I made Hammarby IF take the Europa League title in just 3 seasons 😅
The Steaua save is interesting because there are 2 teams both essentially Steaua fighting over ownership of the historic titles and cup wins. FCSB was forced to rename to that after losing a court battle that decided they were actually a separate entity to the original European victors CSA Steaua Bucharest I believe. In game I know that Steaua Bucharest list the titles as theirs, however I'm not at the PC to confirm FCSB claim them also or not. Regardless, you have a choice to make with the save as to who you believe is the true spiritual successor to the European winning CSA Steaua Bucuresti.
However, CSA Steaua Bucuresti is owned by the Ministry of Interns, which in real life that means they cannot get promoted higher than Liga 2 as the rules of football dont allow teams owned by a state entity to take part in Liga 1. Of course FM does not replicate this and you can take in charge of CSA and get the to win Liga 1.
click on the three dots under the video, then click the second option so you get auto generated text. then pres ctrl + f. Write the country which you want to see.
Just wanted to throw out another similar save idea for Poland, named 'Forever the Bridesmaid'. GKS Katowice are a team from Katowice, founded by a group of miners, hence the GKS (meaning Górniczy Klub Sportowy, which translates as Miners Sporting Club). A team which saw a rapid rise, and a period of stability as a solid top flight team went from strength to strength. This culminated in 4 runners-up finishes and 4 third place finishes spanning the late 80s to early 2000s, a time in which they also made European runs to the round of 16 in the Cup Winner's Cup thanks to their 3 Polish Cup titles. However, due to the mining crisis, the team fell on hard times. Slowly, financial ruin and crippled the club and after a last placed finish in the 2004/05 Ekstaklasa season, the club were dropped to the 4th division due to financial and legal issues. A group of dedicated supporters took over the club, the 'Stowarzyszenie Sympatyków Klubu GKS Katowice' which saw another period of stability, this time as a solid 3rd division team. In the 2020/21 season, 2 big events seem to have etched a new future for the club. They were promoted into the second division once again, and building of a long-awaited new ground had finally begun, to be finished at the end of the 2023/24 season. Could you be the anticipated manager to bring success to this dormant club and finally bring them the league triumph that has eluded them for so long, along with European success?
Wow man, as a Polish guy I'm really surprised that you know so much about this history. There is more stories simmilar to this one for e.g Pogoń Szczecin, Widzew Łódź, ŁKS, Polonia Warszawa, Polonia Bytom, Lechia Gdańsk, Ruch Chorzów (14 times champions! Now in the 3rd tier) or Zawisza Bydgoszcz. You can download Polish league pack and enjoy rebuilding. Cheers
That Dutch challenge is insane. Would actually recommend to do it with Cambuur or Heerenveen as the province of Frieslands holds the tallest people in the Netherlands.
RoPS was actually demoted to finnish third division few months ago because of financial issues. Before that they were fighting for promotion to the Finnish Premier League where they lost out in the promotion playoffs.
Always waiting on the next drop! Your sarcasm is what made me subscribe and now it’s actual amounts of knowledge and help you provide that keep me coming back! Thank you for literally putting FM on the map! To think it was all about fifa at some point lol
In Israel I would chose hapoel petah tikva from the second division, a club that was dismantled and reestablished twice in the last 10 years and is now fan owned by one of the best fan bases in the country, they have a rich history with the longest streak of league titles dating back to 1963 with little to no success since than. A classic RTG!
It's a shame that israeli saves in general aren't that fun cuz of that rule that says you can only have 6 foreign players in the israeli league which makes the saves so frustrating
The Italy one is interesting. Watching the Diego documentary it was stated that Naples were known as the peasants of Italy, makes it all the more remarkable what he helped them become by winning the Scudetto.
Although I'm not from Naples, I can confirm it! We could say many different things about Maradona, but I think very few players and managers have managed to build such a strong bond with the city they were in: Diego is essentially part of the Neapolitan identity now!
Location gets me as well, loved the idea of Ceuta and Melilla. But I'm also into the distant and logistical nightmares that are the far eastern Russian teams like Luch Vladivostok, SKA Khabarovsk or Sakhalin. Take them to Europe (or Europe to you..) and bring home a european trophy to the other side of the globe. A bonus would be to face the Portuguese island sides along the way :)
For Wales, I did a save with Caernarfon Town. Have the biggest attendances in the Welsh league by almost double but always finish mid table. Got them into Europe and made them a professional team
So happy you picked nordsjaelland. It’s been my favourite save of all time. RTD academy is very fun, so is just having the African database open and role playing with Nords, just trying to build through youth and getting prospects from your own academy as well as RTD and west Africa.
I just completed my save in poland with Jaguellonia Bialystok, most fun I’ve had in a while winning the champions league after 10 seasons building up the Ekstraklasa along the way, even wisla krakow made a UCL QF along the way!
I'd recommend a Truro City FC save - the state of football in Cornwall is laughably bad - Truro are the highest ranked team and only compete in Southern League (7th tier). Things are so bad infact, that next season they will be playing in Plymouth (because German supermarket brand Lidl have bought their current ground for £500,000-600,000), meaning the counties' biggest team, won't even be playing in the county. I'm not even from round here & i seem to be the most baffled/angered by this. I'd truly be surprised if this is happening anywhere else. Unreal stuff honestly.
Lmao I'm from Cornwall and I agree with everything you just said. The footballing quality down here is terrible, which is a shame. You might've just inspired me to start this save in fact
That’s sad to hear , I know the Scottish game isn’t the lost popular but I think the fact that there’s not such a massive gap financially between top and bottom is starting to help, we have a really young international team and we are starting to create players who are doing well in English premier again , Kieran Tierney ,Andy Robertson , billy Gilmore , there’s a few youngsters at Celtic and rangers the now who are doing well and just in general I feel we are doing ok. We still have local teams, there’s very little of this moving teams to other counties or cities, I always think of that as an American thing , they seem to do it a fair bit, I mean there’s a couple of nfl teams that have had a few cities and a few different names in 20 years . It’s quite crazy to think that that there’s not even maybe a conference team from Cornwall. Little question which Cornwall team has been to the highest league in history ? It’s a genuine question, I have no idea as to the answer , was just wandering if there was maybe a team many moons ago who were in league football or conference type leagues
Some fun facts about Derry City, we joined the 2nd Division in Ireland in 1985 after 13 years of having so senior football and became the first (still the only) team to win the treble in 1989. We played Benfica in the first round of the Champions League in 1990, and the game was almost called off due to a bomb scare but the local IRA leader and future first minister Martin McGuinness disposed of the bomb himself as was a Derry City fan. And more recently (not sure if the FM database has updated to reflect this) the clubs owner Philip O'Doherty has sold his engineering firm for $2bn and has said that he will invest in the club and want to bring the league back to Derry! Also the BBC did a great documentary about the journey of Derry from being kicked out of Northern Irish football towinning the treble and playing in the Champions League against Benfica. The club also have a great documentary about the Europa League run in 2006, beating IFK Göteborg 2-0, Gretna 7-3 (5-1 away) and eventually drawing to PSG at home and losing 2-0 away.
And of course a certain James McLean is a former player isn’t he? And from my team Celtic I will never forget paddy McCourt, sadly he never did as well as he could have with us but he showed little snippets of magic which were amazing
Fun fact(just for you Z): FCSB yes they win the title , the club is owned by a man named Gigi , they had the stadium and club name rented from the Army of Romania , but was a trail and they lose the record that they won champions league (they lose all the achievements before 2003) , and they needed to change the name to FCSB(and logo) and a new team was made with the old achievements, and now they are in second league of Romania named CSA Steaua Bucuresti (CSA = The Sportive Club of Army) .
Thank you for highlighting how special the club of my heart is! Ps: Red Bull was founded after German reunification so I would not really class them as East German.
Oh man, I couldn't be happier to see FM Llama on the channel - I beg anyone here checks out his Northern Mariana Islands save from a few FMs ago, it's a genuine cinematic masterpiece. Llama is genuinely the most underrated FM content creator on the platform right now.
I've done the opposite of your BSC Young Boys idea by taking over Newell's Old Boys in Argentina and winning the league only with players aged 30 and over. That one was hard, but lots of fun
I so wish I’d discovered Zealand’s streams in the Carmarthen days. anyone promoting the Cymru Premier and with a hatred of TNS is good with me! A few more recommendations for saves in Wales: Cardiff Met: As with Swansea Uni, a university team competing in the welsh leagues, although starting in the Cymru Premier and played in the Europa League qualifiers a few years ago. Can you take the best Cardiff based team in the Welsh Leagues to be the biggest team in Cardiff? Barry - Absolutely dominant in the 90s, beat Porto in a European game in 2001. They went bust but recently got back to the top flight, can you win them a first title in 20 years? Cefn (pronounced as Kevin with no I) Druids - Rock bottom of the league this year, the owner regularly slates his own team on social media for not trying hard enough. Stay up, then build back. The big challenge - download an extended database and take control of CPD Bangor 1876. Bangor are one of Wales’ most historic sides, but went bust a few years ago and the owner set up Bangor City, a deeply unpopular phoenix club in the second tier shunned by the original fans. The fans set up CPD Bangor 1876, their own phoenix club who are now climbing the ranks. Try and get back into Europe, and on the way beat your clubs own evil phoenix club with a fan owned version. Good luck - loved this video Z!
I started beta save with Cefn Druids (I am sucker for a team with cool name), and got them title in fourth or fifth season, but the first two were hell to survive. You will be pleased to know that TNS only won one title in this 5 year period (Barry and Connah's Quay were the other winners)! Btw. Cymru Premier thropy is by faaaar coolest looking! All in all, Cymru Premier is a really fun league to play!
@@MrNeko92 Class! They’re really up against it this year but the midfield is very close so can imagine that once you get stable you can compete quickly! Connahs Quay are back to back current champs but are dropping back to semi pro status at the end of the year, so TNS have re-asserted themselves at the top this season big style
I play Sheffield Wednesday. Great club with a rich history. Who can forget Chris Waddle the legend? The club starts FM22 in League One and deeply in debt. Good challenge.
Altınordu has the best facilities in turkey and they produce wonderkids regularly. Considering the new regs in the turkish league, Altınordu will be in a really good spot if you can get them in top flight and running
The Dukla praha save is actually bigger than you thought. In 1962 Dukla had 7 players on the Czechoslovakian national team that got second place in the world championship. That year their player Masopust won the ballon d'or. In the season 66-67 they reached the semifinals of what is now called the champions league and in 85-86 they reached the semi finals of the european cup winners cup. So it's also a revive a former giant save.
The great thing with Union SG in Belgium is that you also have the challenge to be as good as the team in real life. Where in their 1st season back in the topflight since 1973, they are top of the table at the moment
As a Hungarian, I really don't recommend Puskás Akadémia. If you wanna do a Puskás-related save, do it with Honvéd, the club he played for. But there are some more interesting save ideas here: if you want a fallen giant, pick Vasas or Győr in the second tier. Paks only has Hungarian players in their squad, you can possibly try and go for European glory with them, signing only Hungarian players. MTK is considered to have greatest youth programme in our country, try to win with only players that come through their youth academy.
I always pick Újpest, as it's my favorite team, really small budget, every penny counts, and haven't won a league since 1998. I also try to achive my dream to build a nearly all hungarian team from a club who has more foreing players than hungarians. I can also confirm that MTK has the best talents, I sign a lot of their players. Lot of fun ideas in our small country :)
Third comment I see from Hungary, saying: don't do Puskás, and I agree. I recommend Diósgyőr, my favourite club, very popular, but only two Hungarian cups, played in Europe in the 70s, but nothing more. A great chance to bring glory to many desperate fan.
Good morning Zealand, It was a very interesting video. I would like to share with you my choice for FM22, which is quite challenging and with a very nice background story. So FC Os Belenenses from Lisbon, is actually one of the only 5 Portuguese League champions (and before the champions League existed FCOB played a final of Latin Cup with Barcelona).Their foundation is connected with Benfica's foundation, the part of the direction that wanted to become professional created FCOB and the part of the gentleman of the people that wanted to play for the honour of wearing the sacred red created the SLB (another story line). So Os Belenenses were portuguese champions in 45/46, won the cup in 41/42, 59/60 and 88/89 and were intertoto winners in 75. Among some lost finals and a few tournaments before the 40's which FIFA doesn't recognize. In 2018 the supporters had a huge fight with the presidency, long story short, they were once again divided and still fighting in the courts. The supporters remained with the club FC Os Belenenses but had to start over from the lower Lisbon divisions, but kept the stadium, the name and all the ancient sporting glories while the direction kept the place in the first tier and named themselves Belenenses SAD.So Belenenses starts FM22 with the best stadium and youth facilities of the portuguese 4th tier (Campeonato nacional) and you have the great challenge of taking FCOB back to glory from the 4th tier to the champions league and winning a second portuguese champions title, while having on B SAD the greatest rivals (the other ones are Benfica and Sporting).I am in 25/26 already and I finished 4th in LIGA NOS, trying to climb the wall between the 3 top teams and the others, ithas been a great journey, my favourite save ever, and I have played the game since CM98/99.Maybe if you encourage me I will even start my own channel and share this magnificent save. :D#upthedorfers #FCOBchampions
As a IRL supporter of CFB (the club's name before splitting) I commend you. Never liked the split, never liked the SAD keeping the 1st Tier spot, never liked the REAL inheritors of the spirit of the REAL Belenenses being forced to start from scratch. Maybe I'll try this save too.
Oh boy and I thought I had great ideas, this was inspiring ! The bonus one is probably my favorite. The Paris FC and Bnei Sakhnin one are now also on my list to maybe try once in my lifetime :D
Being from Northern Ireland although having never played FM, I would recommend managing any team in the premiership that isn't Full time yet (acknowledged as professional). Only quote recently have a few teams started going professional including Larne who had a buyover, Linfield, Glentoran and Crusaders who are main favourites for the league considering they are full time now so maybe like Newry where I'm from or Glenavon any team really as it's an uphill battle.
It will be interesting to see how financially responsible the full time clubs will be with all this Purple Bricks/Lee Bonis 100K type of money floating around this weather!! I restored my nearest team Lisburn Distillery to the pinnacle of the Irish League, went full time, dominated the absolute shit out of the League and Cups for 40+ years and won the Champions League numerous times using academy products only. It was great to see the dynamic league reputation in action as the Irish League established itself to sit comfortably within the top 12 leagues in Europe where other teams benefited by regularly featured in the Champions League and Europa League as well, however due to the limits of the current National Youth Rating system, (despite having top Youth Coaching and Training facilities) our regen ability was capped and we couldn't go any further than 10th in the league rankings, limiting the national team also....... although it was great to see the odd world class Northern Irish player come through with George Best type ability!!
I’ve done an all Scottish save before with Aberdeen (my club) Also done a locals only save where I just signed players from the North east (Montrose to Banff was my limits)
3:45 no, they have not. They count titles from way back when there was no Austrian league, but only regional leagues like the Viennese league, as Bundesliga titles as well so they can feel better about themselves. The club with the most Bundesliga titles is Austria Wien, their main rivals (who I feel like are a more interesting save anyway this year as they start with 40ish million pound in debt and their best players transfer listed)
Rapid did not really win the German Bundesliga. Up until its formation in the 60s the champions of a varying number of regions would determine the German champion in a tournament at the end of the season. From 1938-1944 Austria (or eastern march as it was called officially) was one of the regions and Rapid went on to become the only German champion from outside the boundaries of modern Germany
Plus, during World War II Austria was incorporated into Germany, as the Nazi regime invaded the country, so during that time Austrian players and teams were basically forced to play under the German federation. Once the war ended, Austria became independent again: I know for sure that the national team was re-assembled, because they used to batter Italy in those years...
@@pierfrancescocosta6336 True and it went horribly for the national team. Before the Anschluss the Austrian team especially was seen as on of the best in the world but Germany was a rising force as well, in 1937 they smashed Denmark in Breslau (modern Wroclaw, Poland) 8:0 in a performance hailed as on the best of any German team ever. Plus both reached the semifinals of the 1934 world cup, so both were among the favorites for the1938 world cup. But for propaganda purposes the regime insisted on a mixed team, against the wish of the coach. With just a few month left he had to somehow combine two opposing styles of play, the German hard working, disciplinary approach and the Austrian artistic, light-footed approach. In addition, as you mentioned, some of the Austrians did not really want to play in that team at all. The showing at the World Cup was predictable weak and the combined team was knocked out in the first round. Football and politics, especially such politics: Not a good match
I had a journeyman last year and spent a couple of seasons with Spartak Jurmala in Latvia. Was a fun time, they were dominate the league. The difficulty is they want to win with home grown players, and the Latvian player pool is...shallow. So you're relying on what foreigners you can sign to help you. But winning does get you Champions League games, so the money helps. It was fun.
Love this vid! Last year I wanted to play just some team from Scandinavia but it was so hard picking which one to go with. This vid will help a lot w picking a good challenge for each country, can’t wait to give Finland another go!
Russia's SKA Khabarovsk can also be fun. A team from the east of Russia, currently playing in the 2nd tier. Can you win a European tournament with a team that is geographically further east than all of China, both Koreas and part of Japan?
for Greece i love the idea of OFI but i would put in Volos Neapolis. there are 2 clubs in Volos, Niki Volou and Olympiakos Volou. and there was another club owner who said ''hey, lets make these teams into one'' and they all said no so he made his own team Volos Neapolis in 2019. and now they are sitting 5th in the Greek Super League
For Croatia I recommend Hajduk in this fm. Mainly due to long dry spell in addition to largest attendance in the league. Also, unlike previous season, they have somewhat competent team this season.
In Fm21 I went 20 years with arka in Poland then moved to Crystal Palace in vanarama south and got them promoted to prem with back to back promotions every season
FM22 has been a great year for Latvia. Always pop up in Ben's Glory Hunter intro and now even Zealand is talking about us, talk about a gain in marketability lmao.
Was really confused when he said TNS were in England, all that was in my head was "Llansantffraid isn't in england", completely over my head that they had relocated to Oswestry after the Total Network Solutions saga. I was much younger then in my defence
In Portugal you should do União de Leiria or Belenenses. União de Leiria because was a beautiful stadium and they were in the Europa League but they were relegated because of finacial things and you can be the first winner of the portuguese 3 league. Belenenses is a club in Lisbon who has won the portuguese league but is now in the 4th division they were relegated because of finacial like Leiria. Good luck.
A good Germany save idea is also to take charge of a team from Schleswig-Holstein,which is the only Bundesland(German equivalent to US States) that never had a team in the top flight. There is Holstein Kiel in the second tier(who failed in the promotion playoffs to the Bundesliga last year) and if you are willing to download a a database there are teams like Weiche Flensburg(which I did last year),VfB Lübeck and VfR Neumünster in the 4th tier.
In czechia, there is team called Viktorie Žižkov, they used to play top league for many years, but they fell from grace recently and this year they are at rock bottom of second league, they are from Prague aswell, so idea should be to become best team in Prague
I literally just made a comment about this club too. To this day I regret that the stadium was closed and I couldn't get a scarf when I was there. Seems like a real nice small stadium to watch a game at.
A note on Derry City - not only are they the only club to win both the Northern Irish league and the Rep of Ireland league and main cups as well as represent both in Europe, they are the only club in Rep of Ireland history to win the domestic treble, which was done in 1989.
@@Micfri300 Pro Vercelli haven't fallen that far. A century ago, they were the considered one of the best clubs in Italy (if not all of Europe), with 7 Italian championships between 1908 and 1922. They were relegated from Serie A in 1934 and haven't been back, spending most of the next 80+ years in Serie C.
Have tried it couple of years before, it was fun for a while, but unfortunately didn't had time to play it more - got to Seria A and stopped. Maybe I should try it again :)
@@MrNeko92 Getting them back into Serie A isn't too difficult if you have experience with LLM. The tricky bit is progressing once you get into top flight. The big teams in Italy are very hard to crack given your limited resources. Best I've managed was a couple of Europa league appearances before getting mired in midtable mediocrity.
@@tmage23 Yeah, especially Juventus for me. Couple of years ago, I played with Carpi and had really good team, but in 10+ years I couldn't beat Juve to the title.
Yeah, Pro Vercelli is my favourite Italian "fallen giants" save. I love AC Milan but I felt they had enough of the glory and it's time to raise the former Italian Greats from the butthole of Italian football. I never finished Pro Vercelli in my years of Football Managing but I guess, now it's time to bring Pro Vercelli from the dead and rise to the top of Europe. 😉
in portugal there are a bunch of good challenges: the first is a simple one - grab the historical lisbon club belenenses , one of the clubs that was portuguese champion, from the 4th division and win the 1st league again. another one harder: go 5 years in the future until the 4th division of portugal and choose a team that needs to be from alentejo region which is probably the most underdeveloped football region in the country, also because is very sparsely populated. a club like vasco da gama de sines or castrense usually shows up. and try not to get relegated, which is extremely hard per se.
FMLlama goes mainstream? Wonders never cease! I thought Zealand was going to save a Llama save for a minute. 😉 The Eintracht clubs in Germany also would be eligible for the Railway save. And the Real Union in Belgium as the start for a Career save might finally be the club that gets me hooked in FM22.
fun fact 6:39 there's a legendary brazilian goalkeeper Rogério Ceni that scored over 130 goals and also was a great goalkeeper. Just look at his save vs Liverpool in 2005 Club World Championship final. Some say Gerrard still cries when he remembers the save.
Very much enjoying life in Cyprus(with second tier Anagenissi Deryneia) right now.Perhaps the Country with the best league despite the nt never being part of any major international competition until now.Its not that easy to win the league and I suspect I will be able to improve teams like APOEL to a point where they can be really good in CL and EL
Another idea for France, you've got Racing Club de France Football. They were founding members of Ligue 1, and have won it once in 1936. They've also won the Coupe de France 5 times, making them the joint 4th best team in the competition. They currently play in the 4th tier of French football. They also play in the Stade Yves-du-Manoir, colloquially known as the Stade Colombes (ok, they play in a smaller ground next door, but they played there when they were in bigger leagues). Now, this stadium was the main stadium for the 1924 Olympic Games, hosted the 1938 World Cup Final, and was France's national stadium until the 1970s. It was also France's biggest stadium capacity-wise until the Parc des Princes was redeveloped in 1972. The affiliated Rugby Union team, Racing 92, have won the French top league as recently as 2016, this being their 6th title in their history. So why not bring both RCFF and the Stade Colombes back into the big time, ok, maybe not a World Cup Final, but why not a Champions League Final?
Just wanted to notify/inform good sir Zealand, in Ukrainian inclusion, for Metalist Kharkiv they actually getting highest attendance in all of Ukraine, filling more than half the capacity on average. You might have gotten your stats from Metalist 1925 which was created after Original Metalist Kharkiv was dissolved. There is a big rivalry between 2 clubs now. Lots more to say about it but it's long but interesting story.
How about the “no journey man” challenge where you have your entire football manager journey in a single city. This is easiest to do in London. With the lower database this is easier than it seems.
I'm managing Altinordu in turkey. Managed to win the second division in my first year and then ended up in fifth in the first year in Spor Toto Süper Lig and qualified to ECL. I have no idea how we managed to do it but the 4-5-1 with one DM and offensive wingers seems so work in this league. Wolves stole Burak Ince for £4.5M.. Bastards! I hope to sometime in the future get him back to the club.
Couldn't you do that last challenge (winning the UCL with a team that isn't on the European continent) with a team from Anatolia or Israel or East of the Urals?
@@bonifaceoflaeken1869 Ah, good point. Per Wikipedia, it's not quite Sakhalin but there is FC SKA-Khabarovsk which is in Khabarovsk. Quite the away trip, needless to say.

Taking Paris FC and overthrowing PSG as the best club from Paris is becoming a bit cliché, but with ONLY Parisian-born players? Now that sounds interesting!
A fun fact about AD Ceuta is that it has historical links to Atlético Tetuán (current Moghreb Tétouan), a club in modern day Morocco that used to play in the Spanish league back when that part of Morocco was a Spanish protectorate. In 1950/51 Atlético Tetuán played in the Spanish 1st division, and to this day it's the only African team that has ever played at the top division of an European league.
Puskás Akadémia is controversial for several reasons. First of all, as said it's the prime minister's team. He literally built a stadium and a team in his home village for like 1-2000 people. All this from the taxpayers' money. Then the name. First part is a legend who is probably rolling in his grave having his name attached to such a hated club. Especially since he has no ties to the location of the team at all. And then it's called an academy, something it's never been. The exact opposite, they had the highest average age for the starting eleven for years in the hungarian 1st division. There are several better choices I'd say. ZTE the team that once beat Manchester United in the champions league. Or Fehérvár, home of Mls and Ekstraklasa fan favourite Nikolic Nemanja.
@@leandroramos3041 Honvéd. They were called Budapest Honvéd or Kispest Honvéd during most of their history. Yeah, they still exist, in the first division of Hungary.
@@leandroramos3041 or Vasas, they are 2nd division right now but they used to play Champion Club's Cup. They beat Young Boys, Ajax and only lost to Real Madrid 4 - 2 in the semi finals.
Brazillian Rogerio Ceni has the most goalkeeper goals in history - 121 to be exact You were also takling about Górnik Zabrze Fun fact - Górnik is the only polish club with a former world cup winner in the squad, since Lukas Podolski (who I believe also partially owns the club) plays there now. Podolski was born in Poland and he grew up as a Górnik fan (despite being from other Silesian city - Gliwice) Also, I was surprised how well you pronounced Vojvodina only to completely butcher Aluminij "j" in slavic languages is ALWAYS like "y" in English.

Hi Zealand, great content! Just wondered if you have or if you could provide a list of all the above suggested teams to manage, I've watched the video but it is annoying to keep going back to write them down haha
You could also try and win the CL with a team from Israel, another nation not actually based in Europe!
Watching this video made me think of a way you can technically win the Champions League with a team that's not only not European, it's not even playing in a European league. In fact, it's on the other side of the world. Hear me out:
The french island of Reunion in the south Indian ocean has its own local league because of course the travel would be insane otherwise.......BUT. They play in the French cup. So technically one of those teams could win the French cup and qualify for the Europa League, then win that and qualify for the CL.
done the welsh one already b2b trembles and euro conference league knock outs with Cardiff met
Fun fact: Sjælland (the danish Island where Nordsjælland is located) is actually called Zealand in english!

@@ggwp1520 ratio + skåne + halland + blekinge
Also for Switzerland FC Vaduz is a sick save to do. Basically Vaduz is actually in Liechtenstein so it counts as a guest team meaning they can't qualify for Europe through the league. So your only way of getting to Europe is by winning the Liechtenstein cup but that only sends you to the conference league so you would need to win the conference league then Europe league consecutively to even reach the UCL. I'd love to see someone pull it off and win the UCL.
Great idea for a save, cheers for the info..

I've always thought about this idea and never got around to it. Seems like a fun save for sure!
I do that one every year! And red star FC are the polar opposite to Paris FC and PSG which are both owned by multinational corporation’s
5 times french cup winner's also, sad that they are languishing in the bottom half of the French third tier
So, a commie scum created FIFA? Now i understand everything.
Huh, I've actually signed several wonderkids from them, including one guy who turned out to have 192 PA when I checked
You can sign from them, but not when you are playing with them.

Unfortunately, it seems that Uniao da Madeira has been dissolved for good. The February update from FM might remove it entirely :(
Instead of Build a Nation, why not Build an Island?
Start with Unaio de Madeira and as time goes on help Maritimo and Nacional.
@@Constanza235 yhea probably
@@bnek8547 that is a great idea specially considering the fact that there is a massive rivalry between nacional and marítimo
More on the railway worker save - Z missed the biggest club founded by railway workers, Manchester United! Originally founded as the Newton Heath Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company.
I was just coming to say this.
I've done it in 3 seasons from the third division with academy players. then use the classic Stockholm's Olympiastadion for UCL match 😂
this was awesome. Fm Llama is a super cool dude. You're both nerds for random football facts and that's what I want to watch for save ideas!
This is definitely going to court controversy haha
Yes they both claim it, the court said it belongs to the CSA Steaua and the Romanian FA says it belongs to FCSB
same with Belenenses and B SAD in Portugal
However, CSA Steaua Bucuresti is owned by the Ministry of Interns, which in real life that means they cannot get promoted higher than Liga 2 as the rules of football dont allow teams owned by a state entity to take part in Liga 1. Of course FM does not replicate this and you can take in charge of CSA and get the to win Liga 1.
@@Yaozaaaaa Sorry for bursting your bubble, but FCSB is the real Steaua Bucharest!
If somebody can timestamp each and every nation being discussed it'll be big

Cheers

True, there was a good flow between you and Llama!!
My save this year : Znicz Pruszkow in the third division of Poland. This is the club where Robert Lewandowski was developped.
I subscribed to Llama back when he had fewer than 1000 subs. It's awesome that you are putting him on. Very knowledgeable, likeable guy.
Rogerio Ceni was a goalkeeper in Brazil, he made 131 goals in his career.
Llama seems to be the most well prepared person ever, great stuff from him
I’ve done an all Scottish save before with Aberdeen (my club) Also done a locals only save where I just signed players from the North east (Montrose to Banff was my limits)
@@pierfrancescocosta6336
True and it went horribly for the national team.
1902 there was Deutscher FC Prag, who reached the Final of the highest German Division.
It was fun.
Wow i literally played save and it was great fun, the youth is amazing!
And best about Górnik Zabrze; you have Lukas Podolski on your team!
Also, unlike previous season, they have somewhat competent team this season.
yeah, anyone but NNK Dinamo Zagreb B team, as mentioned
In Fm21 I went 20 years with arka in Poland then moved to Crystal Palace in vanarama south and got them promoted to prem with back to back promotions every season
Would love to a second video for all the nations in Europe that dont have the licensed leagues, like Estonia, Lithuania, San Marino, etc
"They'll be dancing in the streets of Total Network Solutions tonight!"
This was sick. Love the dedication
Did a save with Weiche flensburg's rivals TSB Flensburg last year and got them to 2 champions league titles and 4 bundesligas.
nice, got 2 CLs as well but more BL titles bc I bottled so much in the cl knockouts regularly that played until like 2075 or something like that
In czechia, there is team called Viktorie Žižkov, they used to play top league for many years, but they fell from grace recently and this year they are at rock bottom of second league, they are from Prague aswell, so idea should be to become best team in Prague
Every FM, I try a Pro Vercelli save in Italy. They are the ultimate "fallen giants".
The Eintracht clubs in Germany also would be eligible for the Railway save.
Was disappointed when cyprus wasn’t on here
I think it's only countries that are in vanilla FM,for Cyprus you need a database
This my favourite vid you’ve done. Well done
How about the “no journey man” challenge where you have your entire football manager journey in a single city. This is easiest to do in London. With the lower database this is easier than it seems.
GOAT collab! Llama is such an underrated youtuber
Bastards! I hope to sometime in the future get him back to the club.
did you lose Enis Destan aswell
@@furkanozcalk3909 Yes, lost him after half a season to Besiktas for £2,5M... He scored 12goals in 17 games though. Still have Emircan Gürlük though!
@@bloodshed_ yeah thats why its difficult and fun save. if you lose Emircan too its over :D
@@furkanozcalk3909 Hah it probably is! I managed to offer him a contract with a £14M minimum fee. And for that price it's a fair sale.
This was a delightful watch, you two should make more videos together!
Couldn't you do that last challenge (winning the UCL with a team that isn't on the European continent) with a team from Anatolia or Israel or East of the Urals?
This! There are soo many clubs technically on other continents!
Not sure if Kazakhstan is in the game but they'd be the farthest for sure.
@@drago939393 pretty sure there's a club in Sakhalin in the Russian second division, that would be one hell of a flight for any European team
@@bonifaceoflaeken1869 Ah, good point. Per Wikipedia, it's not quite Sakhalin but there is FC SKA-Khabarovsk which is in Khabarovsk. Quite the away trip, needless to say.
@@drago939393 SKA were in the Russian PL pretty recently too
The best save idea videos ever and what's better is that it was from Zealand and FM Llama both are giving us very great save ideas and both really played great Football Manager and FM Content Creator as well. So yeah you can try those saves these guys give you.
Totally agree with this.
Or try Diósgyőr, who are currently 2nd division leaders but with great popularity and potential.
That team who ruled Hungarian football in the 50's still exists? I can't remember their name
Brazillian Rogerio Ceni has the most goalkeeper goals in history - 121 to be exact
You were also takling about Górnik Zabrze
Fun fact - Górnik is the only polish club with a former world cup winner in the squad, since Lukas Podolski (who I believe also partially owns the club) plays there now. Podolski was born in Poland and he grew up as a Górnik fan (despite being from other Silesian city - Gliwice)
Also, I was surprised how well you pronounced Vojvodina only to completely butcher Aluminij "j" in slavic languages is ALWAYS like "y" in English.
