We have a Farmall M, since about 1981, it has a magneto ignition, our H and the Super MTA are both conventional breaker point battery voltage ignitions. About 2018 or so I went through the M magneto, rebuilt it, got the needed parts from Steiner too. Then in the process I got the idea it would be a good feeling to have backup mag just in case so I went to ebay and bought several H4 units and rebuilt them all. They are quite the piece of machinery and rebuilding is very doable. There will be some seriously stuck screws to deal with and lots of old dirt and grease but that just requires some time and a patience, along with the right approach and correct tool selection. There are some International Farmall service and shop manuals that are worth having, they are not a big investment and they have excellent info on the workings of the magnetos, the way to install and time them, rebuilding etc.

Grew up on a B, mowinfg 3 acres at home, 3 acres at church, and 2 acres at a widow lady's. Cooling system is called thermo-siphen. Hot water rises to the top of the rabiator, pushing the cooled water to the bottom of the block.
