My friends over at Yamaha Guitars were so kind to send over this incredible Revstar RS620 guitar for me to play around with. I must say this is one amazing guitar that I have been enjoying very much since receiving it. In this video, I give an overview of what makes this guitar special while also playing it in the mix from one the songs from my soon to be released 7th studio album. I hope you all enjoy the video and please check out the full line of Yamaha Guitars at www.yamahaguitars.com . If you would like to hear how this guitar sounds solo'd outside of the mix you can do so here in this video:

ive been looking for a demo for this guitar with actual good playing and music, found it!
Liking the Rush tee-shirt. A man of taste, obviously
Haha... thank you much :-)
Nice playing so it would have been nicer to hear more playing, the talking took the majority of the video. Thanks for sharing!
Hard to believe that someone was able to pry a Godin out of your hands. Being a Godin freak myself, I will have to give the RS620 a whirl.
Haha Jerry :-) Wasn't easy to do....but I am really loving this new as Yamaha!
Beautiful guitar and great video my friend!
Thanks so much buddy!
Greetings from France!
Huge fan here, cannot thank you enough for all your great content.
I just got my own RS620, and while I love the looks and the finish, when comparing it to my les Paul, it couldn't help but notice the neck pick up sounded somewhat muffled or lacking a bit of sparkle on the revstar. Later I found out the tone pot is 250k instead of the customary 500k as found on most HB guitars.
Did you notice this as well, have you changed anything to your guitar since you got it?
Hey Ben, I haven't done any mods to mine at all. It is all stock. I have not noticed that with the neck pickup.
Cool video Jason. Cant wait to get a copy of your new album. I like the look of the Revstar. Another Line 6 pro that I love watching Paul Hindmarsh uses it on most of his videos as well. Very unique look. Would love to try one out some day. Wish they had the fretboard using Ebony instead though.
Thank you so much and hope you enjoy the new album :-) Paul H. is awesome!!
where can i listen to the song in the video
It is from my latest album Brief Eclipse: open.spotify.com/album/2CIBbosXpqiFyoSGJXO20O?si=y9DfJEWLSWi12IYDYT2L4w&dl_branch=1
I understand the Revstar has a Gibson scale-length but how does the neck feel in your hand compared to a Gibson vs Fender? No stores have these within a reasonable distance from my home. I notice a huge difference between how the neck on my Strat feels vs how the neck on my SG feels and I want to make sure we are talking about the neck profile, not the scalelength. I also have a Reverend and an Ibanez. I would love a Revstar but I would be ordering it without playing it first and that makes me nervous. I hear a lot about how it's well made and the scale length might indicate is plays like a Gibson but how does the neck actually feel in your hand? To me, the Ibanez RG feels slim and thin, the Fender Strat feel is my normal... not to fat and not as slim as the Ibanez and the Gibson SG feels thick... any thoughts on where the Revstar fits into this?
Thanks for the great question :-) I would say that the neck has a nice 'beef' to it. It is most certainly not thin but not overall bulky either. I found it very comfortable almost immediately. The Yamaha website list the neck specs as follows: Neck Width at Nut: 43mm at 12fret 52.5mm. Neck Thickness at 1st fret: 21.1 mm at 12fret: 25.2mm. Hope that helps a little :-)
Hi Jason! Very cool video! I looks like it is also very accessible to the upper registers, and I like the bridge too. Nice playing as always! Thanks for posting!
Thank you so much Antonio :-) And yes very accessible to the upper frets...great hardware! Really nothing bad to say about this guitar!
Jason Sadites Where is it made?
Antonio I believe it is made in Indonesia.
Jason Sadites Thanks Jason. I have very good opinion on Indonesian workmanship.
How heavy are they?
It weighs in around 8.6 lbs Ralph :-)
Jason Sadites thanks
My pleasure :-)
