    Love these! You have inspired me to use up some of my material which would be ideal for kimonos

      Oh good! Sometimes it's nice to collect fabric; sometimes it's nice to actually use it!

    Been looking around utube for DYI beach cover ups. I love your materials that you chose and the outcomes of you ideas, but I sure wish that there was step by step or at least general instruction information on what you are doing as you were going along for each one. I think that the short videos that you spoke of with general step by step information would have been better choice to share so we could try our favorite on our own. Happy sewing!

      Hi! My sewing videos have always been about inspiration for sewists, and promotion for people wishing to buy the dress; but I do see that for this type of dress I could have done a more instructional video. It is on my to-do list for this year so please sign up to my newsletter if you'd like to know when that's ready: threadsofafairytale.com/courses/ Thank you, and Happy sewing to you too!

      Hey there!! They turned out so good and I just was hungry a little more information.🙂 I watched a couple of sections over a couple of times so I think I got the idea to point in in the right direction. Even if there was just some commentary for each style would have been awesome!!! Thanks much. I enjoyed the video and you did inspire for sure. @@HelenHobden

      Thank you! Just a heads-up, (absolutely no pressure, and sorry to sound salesy! But just letting you know so you're not disappointed in the future.) I've decided to focus on the ballgowns and wedding dresses, so I won't be making any more of these. Glad you like them. :)

      Hi! Thank you for your interest. I'm going to be doing more in-depth online workshops, so thank you for your request - I'll try and make one before summer this year, but I've got a lot going on, so I can't promise it. Please join my mailing list to hear about new workshops etc. threadsofafairytale.com/courses/

    Just found your channel, I love it! Subscribed. Your cottage is so pretty! Is it expensive where you live? I feel like it's the most beautiful place. Looking forward to your sewing classes, I love your dresses.

      Thank you so much. :) Somerset in general is cheaper to live than most counties in the South of England, but like most places it varies from village to village. Our house was cheaper due to the busy main road it sits on!
      The sewing course is taking longer than I expected, but I'll let you know when it's ready. :)

    Somehow missed this vid of yours so am enjoying an “extra” :) Sewing question: do you ever use fancy feet such as rolled hem, gathering, etc? And if so, do you find they work??

    • @HelenHobden
      @HelenHobden  2 года назад

      Glad you've found a couple of new ones to watch! No, I don't really use fancy feet. It's one of those things I intend to learn how to use, but when I'm making something, I'm too excited to carry on, to stop and learn something new! I sometimes use fancy stitches that require a different foot, but I haven't used the ones you mentioned. I also want to try pintucking one day - I think I've got a foot for that too! Oh I have used the foot for edging - I can't remember what it's called now, but I use it when I've got the wrong coloured thread in the overlocker. And I also use the freehand embroidery foot every now and then.

    I love the green one, but I can’t find it on your Etsy site. Help

      Hi Annie! I'm so sorry, but both green ones shown here have already sold. The others I have are all in the Indian Summer collection here: www.etsy.com/shop/threadsofafairytale?section_id=8143038 Apart from the dress that is mainly teal, blending to cerise pink at the bottom - for some reason that one got missed when we were doing photos, so I haven't listed that one yet. Let me know if you're interested and I'll post it with photos on a mannequin. Thanks for your interest :)
