    You have such a wonderful eye for color and pattern mixing. I love your artful abandon when cutting and stitching. I fear my old school training gets in the way of creativity. Keep up the delightful work!

      Hi! Thank you :) It's been a while so I don't know off the top of my head, but it was most likely zig zag stitch. If you're interested in finding out more about my wild sewing process, I have an online workshop coming out soon. Join my newsletter to hear about it first! threadsofafairytale.com/courses/

    So don’t those fabrics fray when they are cut?

    • @HelenHobden
      @HelenHobden  4 года назад

      Some fray more than others. Sometimes I run a line of stitching near the edge. The more expensive dresses are usually hemmed.

    You're not taking a risk mixing prints at all - think 'Laura Ashley', I mean the real Laura Ashley designs and fabrics, not the cheap insipid business it's turned into today, all the fashions much the same as every other High Street Chain, the dear lady would turn in her grave ! She mixed patterns and prints all the time and they always looked lovely. There's no rules really is there, whatever looks good is good, it doesn't matter what some overpaid designer says ! and all the 'sheep' (sorry - customers) say, carry on doing your own thing, you're a bright spot in a boring world.

    Why do u have 6 dressmaking models !? 😱😱

    • @HelenHobden
      @HelenHobden  4 года назад

      I have two adjustable adults - one regular, one plus size. One non-adjustable for display for online shop photos as it looks nicer; and three non-adjustable children; age 2-3; 5-7 and 10-12.
